IGN review is up: http://www.ign.com/a...-x-and-y-review

Excellent. ... now to wait for a more reputable source.

*runs*

Nah I read it, and I guess, well, time will still tell. Some things sound nice, but I'm still gonna have to play it to give my own opinion. Wait a minute, that's a dumb statement, of course that's how that works.

I think I just read the definition of an opinion there. XD

Yeah... I think we're going to end up getting it. Damn it.

Just encountered an interesting issue. I don't know how to delete my save. I made some choices I regret, and I really want to redo, but I can't find a way to start a new game. The typical up+B+Select doesn't seem to work, and there's no option to pick a new save. What the heck? Has anyone heard anything about this at all? Or does someone perhaps know what I could try? I'm sure they haven't taken out the option of playing through the game more than once. That'd be... weird.

Do you have the manual that came with the game or anything? I thought it's usually mentioned in there. Beyond that I don't know what to try.

Nah, it's a digital copy, Nintendo just sent us a redeemable code. I couldn't find any digital manual that came with. Oh well.

I ended up deleting the game itself, and I'm assuming this got rid of the save file as well... and all this just to select a non-fire starter, so that picking Charmander later on makes sense. Charmander all the way. Heh heh.

I'm sure they haven't.  The 3DS doesn't have any game save management does it?  Anyway, it's sorta good that they removed the "New Game" option if you have a save.  No more will you accidentally start up a game and not be able to save it...

Honestly, am I the only one who thought it was straight out idiotic to have that be the way to delete your file?  Having a way to delete your file by just selecting an option in the menu?  Nope, you have to use our super secret special code that requires you to hold the handheld in a really weird way to be able to press down all these buttons, and then deal with the slowest text in any video game ever asking you if you're sure you want to delete it. :|  I miss back in the day when, if all you wanted to do was start a new file, was to just...start a new file and save over it.

I completely agree here.(Will elaborate later, I'm in school. >.>)

Alright then, hope it works.

Yeah, I may be in a similar situation when I get the game too. Fennekin, Charmander and Flareon on the same team probably won't go over well for me. Assuming Eevee is early on and Fire Stone is even available of course. I'm doubting Glaceon being obtainable early on because they always make it a pain to evolve an Eevee into one...

So now that we have the 3DS, which can potentially use an SD card to save games... why are we still limited to a single save file per game cart? That's just stupid Gamefreak.

Well, I guess they're saying the final evos are grass/fighting, fire/psychic and water/dark. Seems odd, to me, I had expected the trio to be steel, fairy and fighting, respectively, given the appearance and leaked attacks for chespin and Froakie's evos. But it looks like Froakie's gonna be the one I pick.

Yeah, that is kinda dumb.  I don't get why, even if they don't like doing the new file thing, they can't just have a "Delete save" option.

Honestly?  Probably money.  I don't think Pokemon has really been in danger of going over its save space since maybe the Gameboy Advance era.  I honestly think they do it at this point because they want multiple people to have copies of the game.  I guess they might want to encourage trading and battling together, but I'm sure money is at least part of the reason.

So, it seems a few people got early copies and leaked most of the new pokemon. They're all listed on Serebii's forums in the 6th Gen Dex Speculation thread. It's kind of a mess atm but it shouldn't be too difficult to find all of them if needed.

Minor spoiler on the number of new pokemon:

Yeah, the save issue is an odd one. The redownload worked, save file is gone, but I'm sure there's some sort of new button combination you need to delete it. But seeing as the game isn't technically out yet, finding out what that is without a manual is... well, I don't think I'm gonna figure it out. Oh well.

I don't really mind it if there's not a large number of new Pokemon - they've already got plenty. I did run into another problem though. The third city plays around a lot with the camera angles, but you can't actually change the angle yourself, as far as I'm aware. So if you turn at an odd angle, you're gonna have a problem seeing what's ahead of you. It's silly.

Another weird issue is that you can't seem to take off your rollerblades. If you want to walk, you have to use the dpad, and if you use the stick, you're automatically using the rollerblades. This would have been okay, had it not been for the fact that the dpad is in a very annoying position on the 3DS. Maybe I've missed it, but I really can't find any way to take them off. It's... annoying, but I'll live.

I actually don't mind the location of the d-pad on the 3DS, but that sucks D: They should've just had you hold down B (or have a button on the touch screen to take them on or off) to use the rollerblades.

Anyway, have a great picture I found while on GIS earlier:
