So one of my friends is halfway on board with MLP (at least she's watched most of them) and then I saw this, so I figured I really should watch it. Anddd so I watched the first two episodes, but was not nearly as impressed as I thought I'd be. Dexter and Foster's Home, etc, leave awfully big shoes to fill I suppose, but it just wasn't doing anything for me. Particulary the moralizing. Definitellyyyy the moralizing.
Hmmm...I suppose you have to go into the series with a little bit of doubt. If you expect it to be godly, it will disappoint you, but if you go into it expecting an animated infomercial with lots of tea parties and giggly ponies with no distinct personality traits...it won't even seem like a My Little Pony series. And THAT, my friend, is the entrance to bronydom.
Then when it comes to remaining a fan...the staff on the show and the marketing team for the HUB do an awesome job of acknowledging and pandering to the bronies, if that iPhone parody commercial, Katy Perry parody commercial, and Bridlemaids billboard (all official promotionals from the HUB) are any indication.

Oh god...that's ACTUALLY how my parents found out I watch it DX
Seriously, I come home and shout hello and all that fun stuff, and nobody answers, so I shout out that I'm going to raid the liquor cabinet. Again, no response, so that tells me I'm 100% alone in the house. Thinking I have no reason to be quiet, I boot up my netbook and shout at the top of my voice "IT'S PONY TIME!". I get through the entire opening theme (singing along, too XD) before my mom walks into the room with this slightly disturbed look on her face.
Holy poo O-O
I still love the line D:
MY LITTLE PONY, MY LITTLE PONY.
SOMEONE ABOUT FRIEEEENDS GOES HERE!
Noo! LOAD!

Haha, my family was just watching me watch it back when I had to use the family computer. It was pretty hilarious. Now they've accepted it as a part of me.
Lol, I wish my family was as accepting.
My dad actually found out in the best possible way. He found the fanfic "Princess Luna vs. The Microwave" in our internet history, but before he could make any snap judgements about my choice of entertainment he read the fanfic and realized that there was something different about this new series. Now he still makes the occasional smart-alec remark about it, but all I have to do is ask him what his favorite episode of Sailor Moon is, and he instantly shuts up.

My personal favorite so far would have to be episode 10. It was hilariously cliche and comparable to every other cartoon ever. You could probably take the audio from other shows and dub it over the episode and still have the same thing. Why would Twilight Sparkle have a spell to make them stop eating food? That's just too odd and specific. I can stop them from eating food, but I can't stop them from being hungry... Though I enjoyed it.
Episode 11 was really annoying and they sang the whole time and it was filled with a bunch of really obvious plot holes and pointlessness and snow and was pretty good. The entire show is filled up with really obvious plot holes. Episode 12 was weird, it was just some weird allegory for puberty and it made me uncomfortable to be honest, though it did introduce the best character in the show. Episode 9 was weird like why are they all racist? Jesus Christ, guys! Episode 8 was bad who even cares about Rarity and Applejack they are like the least interesting characters and there are just so many plot holes. I can't really think of anything wrong with Episode 7 except that they didn't steal the dragon's treasure. That must have been worth billions. They're like the worst MMO players of all time.
So it's a pretty good show.
I couldn't ever watch this without other people though.

People only call it gay because they're insecure about their own masculinity. Trust me, it takes serious balls to admit you watch a show aimed at five year old girls.
And their logic is flawed anyway, since gay isn't even an insult. :/ Whatever, let haters be haters.

And Fefe, what do you need help with WMM? I can get along with it pretty easily in Win7. But, i did like Xp's version better...
I found a different video editor that I'm trying. I originally tried to download the old Windows Movie Maker, but there were compatibility issues, even when I ran it in compatibility mode.
EDIT: After a lot of failed attempts at using other software, I finally got the old Movie Maker back on Windows 7!
EDIT2: Here's a quick test I made, the quality isn't that great though:
