@ShadowTiger: Some bugs in the Mirrors Dungeon.

in the room where you bombed to get in...and the floor turns to open space...move the two "+" side by side to the left under the switch and stand at the top and fire so that when the floor changes you won't fall thru ( 4th row , first pic) (5th row , 1st pic, the key is to shoot to the left) I found Mirrors did screwy things when you revisited or backtracked like Artistic has shown. However annoying, you can get through - I never could get back to the stairs when you fell into the left side of the 2x3 area of rooms in the SE corner of B1 (those would be the 1st row of pics).

Yeah... That Cave of Mirrors, yo... That Cave of Mirrors. > <. It's got some of the worst construction I've seen yet, I tells ya. It uses FIVE Dmaps for a place spanning a single map, all because some areas have Overworld type Characteristics, some have Cave Dmap type Characteristics, and some have Dungeon type Characteristics. In Pre 2.5 versions, you couldn't handle the sort of trickery C-Dawg pulls without needing all of that. If this were 2.5, I could make this so easy...

I don't know how I did it (post a pic!)...but I did!!! Anyway....when does this room open? What has to be done?

I can get through the conveyor belts in every room except that one before the boss....I don't know how I got through once before(2 yrs. ago)...and God forbid if I do get through and can't beat the boss!!!

Are you going to be able to fix it to go to right in the two top pictures? And those two bombable top walls in the third row down from the top. And if you won't be able to fix those two bombable walls, is there anything in those rooms that we need? Just asking I'm not rushing you.
I never did find a map. Is the Cave of Mirrors the place we are suppose to get the mirror shield?

EDIT: I discover something about the Cave of Mirrors. If you F6 Continue in there after you have bombed the bombable spots. You can walk through the spots you have bombed. But once you have walked though the spots and come back to them without F6 continue again either they are gone or you can't get in them. Really weird! icon_wacky.gif
So I got to those to bombable walls in those pictures third row down from the top. Still can't go right in the two top pictures doing the F6 continue trick.

No...mirrors has the lens for sale...but you need get through Mirrors and fight the bsoss to get a medallion. Vines has the second meallion. When both medallions are gotten...then I believe Marathon will be accessible and then the mirror shield.

Haha, don't worry, I'll fix Vines up in two days. icon_razz.gif I share your pain, I really really do. ^^,' Conveyors are nasty without Z3 Movement. They've even been fixed a little without Z3 movement in a couple hundred betas from there.

But yeah, I can make Vines easier, movement-wise. I've already thinned the enemy count. Vines should be about a third easier when I'm done with it. I mean I like a challenge, but this is ridiculous. Movement glitches should never fault the player for simply moving during combat.

By the way, at this point, I'm really not too sure how different gameplay would be, functionality-wise, if you used a more advanced build. I mean the VAST majority of these bugs are due to simple errors on the quest builder's part. I mean it's very easy to set the (Normal) Bomb's secret combo effect, but forget to set the Super bomb's effect. They're two separate effects, despite being next to each other in the Secret Combos Page. (Really, open ZQuest up, go to Data -> Secret Combos, and see for yourself.) With that many secrets to find between so many screens, it's easy to forget something. Very easy. Startlingly easy. >.>'


Otherwise, I can get to these bugs after my finals. I can release a new version Wednesday night when I get home. I've got two major essays to write before then, studying for my final, which is more essays, then taking them. No idea what I'm doing. x) Wish me luck! XD

1) That alternate music. I'd love to hear from you all about any particular modifications to dungeon music. Let me know what you think.

2) We might be able to upgrade to a higher Beta, say, 2.5 It's pretty darn stable actually, relative to this one, and may even work better on your computers. It'll make things easier on everyone. I can also implement changes much faster and safely. We also have the option of adding in new items and upgrades, and modifying enemies. icon_biggrin.gif A DoY Redux!

Glad your changing vines - I hated that icon_naughty.gif icon_thumbsdown.gif Sorry about no comment on music but due to others in proxmity to me, I mostly have to play without sound. The beta seems fine on my end, the only problems seem to be because the quest builder was, shall we say "learning" on this one...and I must say it is pretty extensive, a good game for all that.

Well, Thank you ShadowTiger I was just going to put this one up on the shelf. I wouldn't wish the 'Vines' on my worse enemy. I did manage to get the map though. With many trips to the F2 floor. icon_lol.gif

You worry about those finals. That is much more important then getting this quest fixed up. Good Luck with them. I know you can do it. icon_biggrin.gif

Finally..da-dah...did it!! Have both medallions - went to the place to put them...there was chime sound, but couldn't get up on that monument...what gives?? Shouldn't I get something for having both those medallions?? Like I said there was chime but nothing else??

Odd. Walking right onto the Pedestal should trigger a warp. It's fully walkable, the warp is in place, and goes to the right place. The only secret that's triggered, in terms of what the flags do, is let you walk up onto the platform. As long as you can walk up to the pedestal on the white surface, you're good to go.
