I feel both idiotic for forgetting this, and also happy that I rediscovered it: All PS3 consoles can play PS1 games natively (no dodgy emulation) and upscale them to a standardized signal format so that they will work with my TV! It also includes the same smoothing option that the PS2 had for PS1 games (It does however exclude the Disc Speed option). So I can finally replay Medieval 1 & 2, Crash Team Racing, Crash Bandicoot 3 and for the first time in a long time, Crash Bandicoot 2 (I briefly played the 2nd game at a friends house, 1st game is boring as shit so hopefully the 2nd game is as good as the 3rd). I have a handful of other game discs in my possession but none of them interest me.

Anyone have any suggestions for PS1 games?

I'm still playing League of Legends. I've been experimenting with a bunch of new champions like Zed, Fiora, Ezrael, and Vayne. I like Fiora and Vayne but the others are hard to use.

I haven't played many, but I enjoyed several of the obvious: Medal of Honor, Tomb Raider (skip the lousy sequels), Tekken 3, and I loved the demo for Ape Escape, and I always wanted to try "Pandemonium!". While I haven't played the PS1 versions, I liked the original Gex, and Mega Man X4 is fantastic.

I haven't played many PS1 games but I always look at the first two Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games as classics, if you're into that sorta thing. The original game that launched the Soulcalibur series, Soul Edge (or Soul Blade in North America) is on the system, but it kind of... sucks. A lot. Then there was this stage-based action game called Tai-Fu that I got with the system about a kung fu tiger that was pretty decent, but I wouldn't give it a strong recommendation.

Oh yeah, I wonder if I have Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 somewhere. I recall that I found the PS1 version of the game the most interesting as the level designers had to work within tighter constraints.

I kind of want to try that and 4 on PS1. I tried 3 on N64 a long time ago; my brother had it on Xbox and I really enjoyed it, so when I saw it on N64 I was a little excited and rented it. Heh, back when Blockbuster existed. Unfortunately, it was very limited and kind of terrible compared to the more polished Xbox version, but alas. Now that I'm older though, I feel like I might be able to appreciate it a little more. Might. Plus, the PS1 versions of the THPS games were superior to the 64 ones. The 64 ones were serviceable, but the PS1 ones were smoother, had a better control scheme, had greater draw distance, and of course the soundtrack was superior.

To be honest, 3 might be my least-favorite of the THPS games, which is kind of odd and I'm not sure why, but it's still a blast to play. I'll have to play through them again, as well as try the PS1 versions if I can find them. Probably too expensive, might have to emulate.

Yeah I found the Xbox, PS2 and PC versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (Their all the same level designs afaik) are very polished experiences but the level designs are just lacking ever so slightly in complexity. Their a little too polished, a little too mainstreamed. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 fixes the level design issues and is probably the best of all the Tony Hawk's games, or at least the PS2 version is.

For me I like the games in this order:

THPS 4 (PS2 version)

THPS 2 (PC version | Weird physics but quite fun)

THPS 3 (PS1 version)

THPS 1 (PS1 version | Barely played this, has funny physics iirc)

The underground games play way differently with all new physics and stuff and while their okay, I don't enjoy them anywhere near as much as the THPS series. I also enjoy the first Matt Hoffman's PRO BMX game (PC Version) but I hate the 2nd game, that can go die in a fire.

I'd have to play them through again to get a more definitive opinion but I probably mostly agree, especially with 4 being the best. While I'd played all of them up to that point, 4 was the first I owned and I loved its level design and mission structure. It was just so quirky and fun, with a great soundtrack.

I actually really enjoy Underground, and it even had a pretty competent story for a game about skateboarders. Underground 2 was the one I disliked, with its gimmicky guests that had terrible controls and limited abilities, its boring level designs, and its horrendous story. American Wasteland and its DS counterpart American Sk8land were pretty good though. I haven't played a single game since then though.

Persona 4 Golden (PSVita)

Overwatch (PC)

Legend of Dragoon (PS1)

I've actually been playing a lot of PS1 games because I never owned a PS1 and never played most of the awesome ones.

I just beat, Castlevania: Symphony of The Night and loved the heck out of it.

As for the Tony Hawk games, anything past Pro Skater 4 means nothing to me.

I really enjoyed THAW on PS2, and I recall THPS2 on the Dreamcast being super smooth. I played some of THPS1 on the Pizza Hut Demo Disc for PS1 :P

Played some Air Fortress on NES this summer, interesting game. Sidescrolling shooter opens the level, then you explore a space-station in low-gravity like a metroid area to destroy the main device, then escape before your oxygen supply runs out and the base explodes

Well your oxygen doesn't permanently run out unless you take damage. It interestingly has your Oxygen act as your health and is temporarily consumed when using the jetpack so you gotta be careful of your use of that ability around dangerous foes or you may leave yourself vulnerable to a 1 hit death. During the Approach/side scroller spaceship section you will always die in one hit, your main objective other than reach the end of it is to get as much Oxygen and Bomb items as possible for the upcoming exploration portion of the gameplay.

The first quest (all 7 or 9 planets or whatever) is pretty good, didn't have a lot of experience with the 2nd quest but I know it was a fair bit harder though. Haven't given the game a serious playthrough for 15~ years. It can get pretty hair raising during the escapes!

I would play Symphony of the Night. One of my favorite games of all time.

Depends on what kind you like. For platformer, Crash Bandicoot 1 and 3. (2 is just obscenely hard to me.) If you prefer a slightly easier platformer, the early Spyro games are decent. For a harder one... Croc. But not Croc 2. That game drove me bonkers. Tomba! is also okay,

For RPG- anything Final Fantasy. (1,2 and 4-9 are available on it as is Tactics.) Or Tales of Destiny 1 and 2. Or Grandia. (Definitely Grandia.)

For anything else, I can't really help. I haven't played a lot beyong those genres on PS1.

Currently playing; Metroid Prime Trilogy. (From memory.)

I bought Irelia in league of legends and went 15-1 on her during my first game.
