I have to say,Sepulcher,you're awesome! Isle of Winds is one of my favourite quests! Good job so far.

I actually kinda agree with NoeL. Remaking this quest combo for combo using a different tileset isn't really worth spending all this time unless if you are able to pull off turning a Pokemon Gold into a Pokemon Heart Gold.

As for the maps, I'm going to be perfectly honest that the map of Town Island kinda loses that "tropical island" feel when remade with DoR. It now has a more "foresty" feel. Maybe a change in the palette might fix this. Then again, those trees don't really fit that "tropical" theme at all IMO.

Yeah, something more warm and tropical-ish. And to be honest, the water doesn't scream "it's an ocean", maybe it's just me. Looks good though. icon_biggrin.gif

I hear what you guys are saying. I will look into changing the palette. That palette was just a placeholder. I also will check out those WW mountains Sheik was talking about.

I'm not a big fan of those mountain tiles. It's like the Pure GB mountain tiles grew scales.

Here are my thoughts: it's too similar. WAY too similar. It's a tile for tile remake. That's just not very interesting. Change it up a bit. Compare Zelda 1 to DFW's Origin. See how the ocerworld is still the same, but each individual screen looks almost brand new, despite being more or less the same layout? Do something like that. It'll make the quest so much more interesting.

I completely agree with Russ. A remake doesn't always mean tile for tile. I say go ahead and use extra screens and so on.

It's true. may be interesting to some, but also lost a lot of time doing tile by tile

Actually I've transformed a cave to a castle tile for tile pretty easily. It drastically made it better, though I did add a bunch more rooms. Even without it looks great. Honestly I've got no problem with the original mountain tiles either, seemed fine to me aside from the cave tile error.

Anyhow here's a couple shots. You can thank Nitroid and raocow for this, as the music I listened to brought this out, and I found that music through a raocow LP of Nitroid.
I've got almost half a map of complete snowiness, this is just two of the shots.

I like the feel of the area, but I would reduce the snow walls used because I think they look very blocky and empty when they are used in those large shapes.

My intention was to use them as mountains sort of, I think they look fine. I'm not too picky there, the blockyness is the last thing that stands out to me. Though the second shot probably doesn't help.

I see what you guys mean. I think I'll use ALttP mountains and add some curves to the mountains. I may also add some effects and change the dirt water borders to shorelines.
