I bought Riven in League. She's a bit tricky to use, but very rewarding.

I couldn't sleep so I played through Fester's Quest on the NES. Ugh, be sure avoid this painful game. Such bad game design, and from a developer who went on to make some excellent games too(!)
It's a top-down walk around 'n' shoot things game, and it is ridiculously difficult in a bad way, it's not even funny. You start off with a pathetically weak gun that you can upgrade up to 8 levels. At first it just shoots straight, then you increase the distance, then you start firing in a lousy wave pattern which make it difficult to even hit enemies. It's even worse when you're walking in a narrow corridor, because the bullets stop dead in their tracks if they hit a wall.
Eventually you can level up your gun all the way into a rapid-fire weapon with a nice, straight-firing spread... and you'll need it because enemies take an insane amount of damage to destroy, and your walking speed is slow as hell. 85-90% of this game is furiously mashing the fire button just to advance 4 or 5 tiles forward, because more often than not enemies will pile up and as soon as you kill one, another one spawns at the edge of the screen to take its place because you haven't gained any ground. And it's not just enemies with high HP, there is a slime enemy which constantly divides as you shoot it, an each half only has a brief window where it can be defeated before it becomes capable of splitting. And you can forget about walking past them, because you walk FREAKING slow, and die in TWO HITS! Right off the bat there are enemies who slow you down from a snail's pace to that of a limping snail crossing the great salt flats- and you can't recover unless you find Wednesday's house (she gives you vice grips that enable you to return to your normal sluggish speed).
But wait, it gets worse! Can you guess how you upgrade the gun? Enemies drop "$" symbols (money) keys, and the blue word "Gun" which increases your gun to the next level- but these drops are very rare. But once you level up your gun you're good to go, right? WRONG! Enemies drop the red word "Gun" very frequently, which levels DOWN your weapon!!! Yes, as if the game wasn't frustrating as heck already! So you're furiously beating the fire button to clear a path to advance, then waiting for the whole pile of goodies to vanish because you don't want to pick up that red word "Gun" and crapify your weapon. Sometimes you can pick up lightbulbs (to illuminate dark sewers), keys, and money, but you've probably got more than you'll ever need already.
There is also a whip in the game, which deals more damage than the gun, but is slower and has less range. It can be leveled up to 4 times, and yes, with red and blue "Whip" words, ugh. The whip can also pick up items like Link's sword stab in Z1, which is horrible because you're trying to kill a group of enemies and when they die, they're dropping red "Gun" and "Whip" words, so while you're just trying to kill enemies, you're highly likely to drop the levels of both weapons because your whip collects item drops you dearly DO NOT want.
So you've only got 2 hits, and guess what? When you die it's Game Over! Back to the start of the entire world map! Fortunately you keep your items and upgrades, and have unlimited continues, but it's still a long, painful trek back to where you were. There seem to be only 2 health upgrades in the game, one at the halfway point, and one near the end, but guess what? THEY'RE INVISIBLE!! You get one by walking into a dead end in a first person maze, and the other by walking through what is probably the only non-solid patch of trees in the game!! Yuck! At least the second upgrade is in a house beyond the trees...
The first boss is reasonable, but the bosses quickly become major pains in the ass, requiring you to have a full stock of special items, health potions, and temporary invincibility potions on hand (as if the levels weren't hard enough already- do them without helpful items). Oh and the invincibility potion is called "invisibility potion". Nice. Basically the way boss fights go down is you are rushing to unload all your special attack items and refill your health with potions and prolong your life with temporary invinicibility in a mad rush to finish the boss before you're killed. And these bosses have a ton of HP.
You'll get about 20 items which clear anything on the screen, which are basically required on the final level, because when you have two UFO enemies firing at you, you don't really stand a chance. Oh, and for an alien invasion game, one of the most common enemies is frogs, because that makes sense.
And when you beat the game? A crappy ending! The family stands in a crowd pumping their fists, while a crappy version of the show's theme song plays. Okay, so they're not pumping their fists, their upper arms are appearing and disappearing. Terrible excuse for animation. Oh, and the end screen doesn't go back to the title screen unless you reset. Great.
Feels like being poisoned.
Don't complain to me about the classic NES games which are actually enjoyable and fun to play, just don't. They are head and shoulders above this mediocre-to-unbearable crap, and they're actually fun to play today. Unlike this garbage.

Beginning to think Sunsoft just got lucky the first NES Batman game was so excellent, because Return of the Joker is terrible so far. The sprites are so large you can't see what's coming and the enemies spawn at the last second right in front of you causing unavoidable damage.
If you haven't play NES Adventures of Lolo 1 or 2, you're missing some ingenious puzzle games (I haven't tried 3, so no comment).

Right now I'm playing Oceanhorn. Despite the control scheme being iffy, it's a pretty fun Zelda clone. ![]()

I also started playing Majora's Mask on VC. Was gonna do a three year run, but forgot and collected heart pieces.
Now THAT's a pretty long time to spend playing the game (3 years!)

I finally bought a 3DS
(the 2DS to be specific) so naturally I'm playing the bundled Mario Kart 7, which is better than Wii, but not as good as DS so far, although I have to say the Luigi's Raceway N64 remake is gorgeous, it updates it without adding a bunch of unnecessary trappings, beautiful! I've also been replaying Pokemon Diamond- that's the most current Pokemon title I've played, looking forward to Sun and Moon, also I can't wait to play the 3DS Zeldas, and revisit the GB ones, which I'm too distracted to finish unless they're on a handheld, apparently.

If you're looking for any other Pokemon games to play in the meantime, there are 3 Free-to-Play games on the eShop too. Pokemon Shuffle, Pokemon Rumble World and Pokemon Picross. None of them really require money, but some can be made far less tedious with it. They're all playable without spending money but I like Shuffle the best out of the three and it still receives updates every two weeks. Rumble World has some design flaws and I simply don't get Picross, but they're free to try of course.

Rock Pikmin are actually really balanced. While they do a lot of damage when thrown, they bounce off enemies after they hit them and are pretty much useless when making ground attacks. The danger of Pikmin getting crushed, the main thing Rock Pikmin are immune to, is much less prevalent and more easier to work around in Pikmin 3 than in Pikmin 2.
That said, the second type of new Pikmin that shows up are game-breaking once you begin to amass large numbers of them, but you get them much later and you are done with the majority of the game at that point.

I'm still playing League of Legends, and I'm almost level 30- which means I will be placed in a ranked league. In the meantime, I'm saving up to buy more champions like Kindred and Fiora.
