Was bored and decided to enhance classic tiles (this might have been more suited for the tile showcase thread but all the tiles except for the water borders are just edited tiles). Might not be an actual thing - I hate mountains. :s
This would be a screen of the fairy pond.

Edit: Dang, why was the feature of automatically merging posts removed? Dx

So four swords mountains did not work out, but these were suggested to me, PrinceMSC WW mountain tiles. I think they look good personally ! I tried to go with the more blue tint or however it was in AI but to my eye did not look good here, so I went with the basic shades for now, thoughts ? (Same screen again I know it's to compare BS mountains to these easily.)

Jay, these mountains give an ENTIRE new feel to the screen. I LOVE it!! The WW Zero mountains have a "soft" feel to them, just like the bushes and trees you used. The palette pushes that even more. I'm in love!

Wonderful. Simple as that. Both of them. (Just make sure the player can't get stuck on the overworld screen!)

@Hatsunem64: You should connect the sand section above the entrance with the section to the right of the entrance by moving the rightmost tile over one and filling in the blank tile left over.

That spot stood out to me, otherwise I think it's a good GBC screen.
Great job with the second screen by the way, I personally enjoy good castle/temple entrances like this.

@Jared- Thanks glad you like it so much !
Now I wanted to share part 2 to my very first screen with this set, with the updated mountains edited tiles, and the fitting subscreen thanks to cukeman icon_smile.gif Still working on the minimap though so pay no attention to that please. (Map title not permanent)

The un-clouded part of the sky looks bland (some shadows/blurs into nothingness under the mountains might be nice, even if slightly nonsensical), and the counters on the subscreen should have transparent backgrounds instead of those awful black rectangles (in the properties for the counters, go to Colors and set the background color to Sys colors -> transparent color (black with white X).

The pattern of the tall grass also looks odd, and the north-eastern part of the screen looks very plain. The graphics are awesome, though!

Thank you, that's what I was hoping for, critique on everything that needs fixing, I'll start working on that and see what I come up with !

Edit: With an island in the sky it is inevitable that some ends of screens where you do not walk will be more bland because there is an open sky there, but I'll still do what I can about that.

I've been away from Zc for awhile (as in no new material) but I'm starting back up again. With that said I downloaded and tested that GBC tileset, I might make a quest with it. Here's a screenshot I messed around and made:

That screen looks very good ! I like the style and palette it fits.


The length of time these new tiles took me is ridiculous and I do hope it was worth it, the screen is incomplete but these will be use as sort of an outside wall for a dungeon that has interior and exterior like SS. More will be created to go with it. (Likely a similar style stone wall to go in between these.)

Whoa, I like the idea of this shot. The mud(?)'s white highlights seem a little too bright and the grass graphics seem a little off, but dude, I got to give two thumbs up for it's uniqueness. icon_thumbsup.gif

The 'mud' is shallow water. he white highlights look pretty good in practice when animated, like how you see the shine off of water IRL.

This is the concept I had with the new tiles I showed above (for an outer dungeon wall) Idk about the four swords castle tiles to be it's wall but how does it look ?
