Got the game a few days ago. I 100% cleared both temples in Woodfall and Snowhead and got all the masks and goodies I can up to this point. So my opinion so far? As someone who dislikes the original, I think the changes have made me reconsider it's low spot. It lost all sense of tediousness that I could hardly call a challenge or genius move. I love what they did to the save points. I love how you can skip forward to any hour. In the original, I got frustrated that I had rush out of a temple, and find a save point just so I could save. In the original, I slowly lost interest in playing further when I had to wait for something to happen. The original felt tedious. And that was a huge killer for me.

While there was one change that felt poorly executed to me (that being the Deku Link change), the rest of the changes so far have been more than tolerable for me. I am surprised people could start an uproar over these changes. I honestly and personally think they made Majora's Mask into an actual good game. And on top of that, the world looks so much more surreal and pretty.

As for where it is now, it went from third worst to top ten for me, probably tenth of ninth for me.

I have the Zora Mask, and after fooling around with it, I now head for the next temple.

You never had to rush anywhere to save, just play Song of Soaring and BAM, you're at a save location or, alternatively, play the Song of Time.

Yeah no. I still prefer save statues inside the temple. It's "kiddy/casual change" I want and it is less time spent playing the song twice, and going back to the temple when you start up the game again. In a game about time, you don't want to feel like your time is being wasted on trivial matters as you want it spent on exploration and much more needed things to progress, and it gets to me very easily in a negative light. And why on Earth would I play the Song of Time when I am half way through a temple? I might as well just not save and quit the game.  :P

Edit: Also when you grew up with strict parents, the kind where "ten more minutes, I need to save the game" is not negotiable, tough luck if you made a ton of progress. Yep, that happened to me quite a bit. I even had to redo the intro twice because of it. I prefer saving on a whim than save points, and most of my favorite games use save points, so that's saying a lot.

Either way, many people have told me this, and I knew about it already. It still feels tedious to me, and that's just my criticism.

It appears that they did not make a master quest for this game, which is kind of sad. Just think of the replay value that would have been added if they did.

At Stone Tower Temple, I finally obtained the Light Arrows. One thing I noticed is that majority of the evidence that supported an amazing theory regarding the backstory seems to have been removed or altered. Even some of the dialogue within the temple (mainly "blood-stained" being changed to just "red"). While I can live with such subtle changes, it really  did felt like they took a huge portion of the mystery and the appeal of Ikana.

Speaking of which, to make quick cash, kill Bubbles with Light Arrows. Doing so guarantees you 50 rupees always.

It surprises me that the game actually has so many different little changes that never has mentioned yet. (For example, the notebook is given to you by the salesman, you can show a mark where flying deku link will land, the hookshot now shoots a laser, some stray fairy locations are changed, there's a new bottle, tatl now gives more tips in many places, etc.
I wonder, is that the case with OoT 3D too? xD Haven't played it.

OoT3D is a lot closer to its N64 counterpart. Like, almost identical, beyond graphical touch-ups. The only major things I can think of are making the Iron Boots a button item as well as those markers in the Water Temple to help you find the water-changing symbols more easily. Also that hookshot aiming laser was in OoT3D as well, which is honestly kind of pointless to me, but it's whatever.

Ocarina of Time 3D also allowed rematches against all the bosses. And speaking of which, I can safely say that I don't see how the bosses in Majora's Mask 3D have gotten easier. The last two temple bosses are pretty challenging, especially Twinmold. Even though their weakspots are "obvious", they proved to be pretty tough, creative and fun overall. I prefer looking for something fun rather than challenging.

Anywho, I am doing side-quests now. I need just... three masks now? And on top of that, I need just five more heart container pieces, and it's off to Majora. :)

Ah, I see. I liked most of the changes I've seen though, so that's a good thing.

The Water Temple, as much as many folks despise it, is my favorite level in OoT (I don't know why, but it was so much fun going underwater without fear of drowning). I had no problem navigating through it in the N64 version (mostly because I had a strategy guide), but the 3DS version made things much easier because I somewhat had the layout committed to memory. :P

I just have the final boss left. I've been waitin' to beat it with a friend of mine but I'm pretty pumped! It's been a great ride. I was upset/startled by a lot of the changes throughout the game but most of them have grown on me. Except Twinmold. Kill it with fire, d00d.

Have you been through the moon trials? I said it before, but the human moon trial is gorgeous.

Yet the Zora trial is freaking annoying as crap without a walkthrough...heck probably even with one it's still a pain!

Well, I got the game last Friday and 100% completed it in a day and a half. (Including time I had to leave and do things around the house and such) In other words, I played the heck out of it. I still think they should have added a weakpoint on the red Twinmold worm so you can damage it normally since only being able to beat it with the Giant's Mask is really linear and causes a great idea to not fully live up to the potential it had. At least with Gyorg, while you were forced to become a Zora in the second half, you could still fight him multiple ways. (Use the boomerang fins or use the mines in the water)

Other than the usual stuff in the game, I have been enjoying the various glitches as well. I LOVE playing as Fierce Deity Link outside of boss rooms using either the Pictobox glitch or the bottle dupe glitch over the Bremon mask.

Right now I'm doinga minimalist, three-heart run. That should be fun. In other words, despite me having a few complaints, I still think this was an excellent remake.
