Welp, I'll be playing Hyrule Warriors before Nexas and I'll brag about how good this game is just to make him cry in the corner and wait out a week of me bragging. :D

EDIT: I hit "post" by accident

From what reviewers say, this game is like a Tribute to Zelda rather than being a fun game. The biggest criticism a lot of reviewers pointed out is that the hacking and slashing gets boring fast. I really hope this is not the core of a typical Dynasty Warriors game.

Picking up Hyrule Warriors later today. I'll be talking in spoiler tags about gameplay, minor spoilers of the storyline and the other features too. No major spoilers, but all my thoughts will be included in spoiler tags. :P

That's pretty much exactly what a DW game is. :P

The gameplay is a hit or miss when it comes to the Warriors games. If you enjoy one game in the series, you'll enjoy every game in the series. I've been looking through HW's info though, and there are definitely differences that make it a unique entry in the franchise though, so those calling it a Warriors game, just reskinned, are, in my opinion, incorrect. Each game in the series has something that makes it unique, and thus, stand out from the other games in the series.

Also, for those who think the game is repetitive and just mashing the same buttons over an over, lemme introduce you to the beauty that is hard mode. Hard Mode requires you to know every single ability you have, and use it to your advantage...well, at least in other Warriors games, unsure if Hyrule Warriors has blocking. :x

Tomorrow I'm picking up my game, Skyward Sword costumes code, and black Wii U Pro Controller. I'm so excited. :)

Somewhat related.

I'd personally rather see a Tactics or Dungeon Crawler game, but I guess that's okay too.

Just got home with the game. I only have a couple hours to play it tonight because I have a late shift that ends in 1AM and then I have a noon shift tomorrow meaning I'll have to crash as soon as I get home... but regardless, I've just been sitting here listening to that title screen medley. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

Sorry for this being a bit off topic, but what controllers does Hyrule Warriors support playing with?

Also, are there any bundle packs of Hyrule Warriors (HW coming with DLC, HW coming with special controller, etc) that can be bought online from like.. a store?

It supports the Pro Controller, I can say that much from experience. ._.

I ended up cancelling my preorder on it, as I wasn't sure it was worth 65+ dollars to me after seeing more of it. I got to try it out at a friend's place today, and was kinda glad I cancelled. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it or like it, but it's not something I feel I can justify the money on right now. Maybe when it goes on sale or something. :S

But from what I did play, it was fun and pretty much what I expected. Which isn't bad at all, mind you. :P

Just got off from playing over 6 hours straight. And hot damn, this game is amazing. Not once was I bored (frustrated? That's a different story :P). The pro controller is amazing, and works great with the game. Still need to try the gamepad though.

The story is very Zelda-esque, and it feels very genuine to Zelda in my opinion. The gameplay is tons of fun, and there's lots of objectives and hidden secrets to find.

The one thing I don't like is the merging of weapons at the smithy. I thought the Smithy would be like how it was in Skyward Sword. I guess I was wrong. Perhaps I need to focus on the elements and add-ons more?

Damn it, everyone's got HW now ;_:

I'm probably going to get the game sometime in December... that's if we can even afford a Wii U and the game...

Some places are/were selling it for $54 (+$2 shipping) and $59 in Australia.

I can tell Warriors games aren't really my cup of tea, but I've still been enjoying it a good bit.  It can get kiiind of repetitive and sort of gives me a headache after a while, though.  The music is really good, on the other hand, so that helps.  My favorite tune is probably the remix of Kakariko Village's theme- it has a really good "We've turned the tides!" feel to it.  And the Magic Rod is a really fun weapon.

Also, Skyloft Link is the best Link.

Chose a random article about it, but yeah. Good job NoA with the limited edition.

http://arstechnica.c...rriors-edition/

Basically, everyone who got it is now selling it for a lot more than it cost on eBay. One is going for $500 currently, it cost $60 as far as I'm aware to buy. Those that did really want it probably won't ever get it. Even though the scarf is probably like less than a dollar to make.

As for the game itself, I've watched ZeldaDungeon on Twitch play it. It's definitely not my thing. Kinda bugs me they are pushing $20 DLC on Day 1 already too.
