Everyone please calm down. Or if you already were calm, get calmer. Unless you were so calm, any calmer and you'd be dead, in which case, stay as calm as you were before.

...

Point being, things are getting heated and... not quite off-topic, since it branched from an earlier conversation, but things are just going in circles at this point and nothing's going to end up anywhere. Both sides have their points and their faults; acknowledge these and move on. I'd hate to see this thread locked over petty reasons. And I apologize if I contributed to the downward spiral in any way.

I did read it correctly. You're saying that innovation in video games has to span across many games. Which is NOT TRUE.]

Edit - Okay, I'm done.

Here's some of the things I'd want to see from this generation:

-Less linear gameplay.

-Villains that are actually a threat (but considering what we've seen of Team Flare, not likely).

-More Post-game content to keep us playing.

-Ability to get a Chinchou/Lanturn Pre-League.

So apparently, somehow there are leaks of the Starter Pokemon's 3rd forms. ._. (Someone from a different Forum's chat linked this picture.)

I'm only mad about Chespin's final form is because it looks almost nothing like him. Still getting him anyway!

Still going with Chespin despite it's final evo not resembling the previous ones at all, assuming I get a 2DS/3DS and the game at some point.  The one that bothers me the most is Fennekin's.  I can appreciate what they tried to do with the design there, but it's simply unappealing.

So I saw the final forms of the starters.

Looks like I'll be using an Everstone.

No surprise with regards to the formula from that review.  Almost everything I read in there, I expected, save for some of the aesthetic upgrades.

It's decided! Fennekin will be my starter Pokemon and I think I'll go with Bulbasaur or Squirtle for my Kanto Starter. Blastoise is a tank period while Venusaur is IMO the most well balanced out of the Kanto starters though he has a limited moveset.

"There are small improvements to note here though, like the ability to restore pokemon before they’re switched into battle."

This. Changes. Everything. Looking forward to using (and abusing) this.

As for the starters, I'm a bit disappointed with Fennekin's final stage. I get what they were going for, but it could have been better executed. Onthe bright side, I see no fire/fighting potential in it. Froakie's is pretty cool though. Chespin's... He doesn't really look anything like the first two stages, but oh well, at least he's not ugly.

Been playing it a little bit now... it's a little odd to have the 3D-settings kick in during battles and certain cutscenes, because they disable the 3D while you're roaming the overworld.

Overall I'm pretty positive, though I've yet to really see any new additions to the formula other than the option of changing your look. Which is fun. I'm not as happy with the new movement mechanics as I thought I would be. It's not a true 360 degree sort of thing, they've just made it so that you can walk in six directions instead of four. This result in some jagged movement animations and whatever, but it's nothing that ruins the experience. I guess I was just hoping it'd be a little bit smoother. But really, no biggie.

Looking forward to seeing where things goes from here. I'm expecting more changes to the classic formula, and if I don't get them, that's going to be reflected in my rating. But first impressions is fairly good.
