No more digging laborous tunnels.  No more making terrain perfectly flat.  Just smoothing things over, pretty much.  Fast travel while still perserving a natural looking landscape.  I like.

Cool effect with those waterfalls and colored water too.  I hear 1.2 is projected to be out in late June or July.  I look forward to this.

I certainly wasn't expecting a trailer, but was very pleasantly surprised to see it. I can't say I'm not impressed. Half-blocks are going to be so much fun to play with.

Oh goody! Just look at all the wonderful new things I have to wreck Dan's house with! Sandgun is now a thing of the past! I can't wait to shoot exploding projectiles and pour rainbows on it! :D

I think there would be incredibly grave consequences for vandalizing Dan's house. :P

Oh hey! I just noticed that that eater is apparently a familiar. I wonder if it actually fights suff or if it's just a visual thing. Even if it is only a visual thing, I bet I can still use it to screw with people.

I think you're taking all of this tomb seriously. It's just a game after all.

Cane you come up with any other ways to vandalize Dan's property? Eye don't think mass-summoning bosses at his house really does it anymore. .-.

Some of you who saw that last video may have noticed that there will be a minimap!  Pretty cool.  This video explains that in further detail.  In a nutshell, you can zoom it in, zoom it out, close out of it, reopen it, choose to have it as an overlay, and full screen it.  It shows things as you discover them, so it doesn't reveal secrets like floating islands.  I believe it shows things on the minimap based on the best lighting you have ever had in that area.

That's exactly what Red said on Terraria's forums lol.  So basically, it's like the Minimap seen in most MMORPGs.

Do we have an active server for this? I do have a copy somewhere of Terraria that I haven't played much.

Most of us are waiting for 1.2 to release before servers start running again.

.....So....this is now coming to mobile phones and tablets?  I'm sorry, but that has to be the smartest, dumbest thing I've ever heard.  Smart, because that's an ever growing popular market to cash in on.  But dumb, because IS THIS REALLY THE KIND OF GAME FOR THAT NONSENSE!?  I've already heard the console versions had awkward control...I couldn't even begin to fathom the ridiculousness of it on a phone.  A tablet, not so much, since I know some of those you can plug USB mice and keyboards into....though at that point you might as well be using an actual computer to play the game.

Yeah, I can just imagine what it's like to mine all that ore with a pickaxe ... on your mobile phone.  Oh, time to recharge now.

Hey, if there's a quicksave feature, another thing to keep me busy in Walmart's Checkout lines.

Terraria seems like it would be more of a long-term thing than a short-term thing. Imagine if it made you restart at your start point all the time, regardless of how much time you have in that Walmart check-out line.

Redigit just implemented a new liquid type, and he believes it's "quite fun." I wonder if it's some sort of ... ... well, .. .. you only wish it was this.

Red also stated that he has given players at least two new reasons to visit the jungle biome.

Now this is actually very exciting to me. The only reasons I ever went to the jungle before-hand was to get the Ivy Vines for the ivy whip, and to see which direction the Dungeon is in. :P Oh and to potentially look for either the Staff of Regrowth (Which I have a certain fondness for.) and for anyone hog-tied that I can rescue. The Jungle Armor is too costly to make, and isn't nearly worth it, I think.
