You're way further than I am in the original. I'm at the first gym, and that's as far as I'm going. Unlike most people, I have no nostalgia factor from playing the old game, so I want to build some up, even it is just four day old nostalgia. icon_razz.gif

And on a side note, the music from that first gym town (Azalea, I think) is really good. It got remixed in FireRed to be even better (one of my favorite songs from the series). They better not have screwed it up for HG/SS.
I had beaten it a long time ago back when it first came out, and I just started playing it again a couple of months ago, just after I set up Homebrew on my Wii. So yeah, nostalgia factor's gonna be high for me. icon_razz.gif

Azalea's the second gym town, with the Slowpoke Well. Violet City is the first town. You're talking about the town with the Sprout Tower, the guy who trades you a Bellsprout for an Onyx, and Falkner, the Gym Leader that uses Bird-type Pokémon? Actually, I'm not really fond of that music. But the actual Azalea Town, I do like that music. icon_deformed.gif

Oh, ya. I think the reason I got confused is because Azalea town's music also got remixed for FireRed/LeafGreen. If I remember correctly, Azalea/Olivine city music became Sevii Island 4 and 5 music, and Violet/whatever other town uses it became Sevii Island 6 and 7 music.

I wish the Sevii Islands were in HG/SS. Oh well.

Hey, at least we can go to Kanto, right? These games G/S/C/HG/SS are definitely the longest to play, because of 2 regions with lots to do, and Mt. Silver with Red, even though when I was younger, I always thought it was Ash, from the anime.

Ash, Red, what's the difference? Ash was a character created for tv show based off Red. Ash then influenced Red when they made Pokemon Yellow and gave Red Pikachu as a starter. So the Red in HG/SS is kind of a mixture of the too.

Personally I'd like to find the individual who made Pokemon Yellow and shove a tree up his/her arse. But that's just my predisposition.

Wrong again. Violet City and Olivine City share the same music. icon_blah.gif

As far as the Red/Ash debate goes, I freakin' hate Ash myself, so Red is completely standalone for me. icon_deformed.gif

Yeah, there's no denying the anime influences on the Pokémon Red had in G/S, but still, Red's cooler, because he has no words and, therefore, isn't annoying. icon_razz.gif

Well, thanks to either Walmart.com or their Greendot debit card screwing me over, I don't get my SoulSilver the day of release or even shortly thereafter. In fact, if things go the optimum route for maximum suckage (they tend to), it'll be the 18th before I can even place an order for it.

F*ck you, Walmart, and may your CEO be thoroughly raped up the @ss.

True, but given the trade-offs, there's a lot to and from the TV series that was taken - everything's tied together in some way through the TV show other than the Pokemon and locations themselves. One example is the Team Rocket Executive characters in G/S, which were based off of Jesse and James from the TV show.

As for me getting the game? Unfortunately I just feel like I have to say pass. If I want nostalgia, I'll just play the original; sure there's slightly less compared to this rehashing, but if you think about it there's just a lot more R/B Kanto included and some mini-games to play with other people. Still nothing on alternative money-making methods either, like mines with randomly-spawning nuggets or perhaps putting a grain of sand into a Cloister's shell to make a pearl, or extensive breeding that allows you to sell off offspring - it just sounds like more EF-beating to earn cash.

Heh, it's not that big a deal! lol I'm not positive I'll get mine on the day it comes out (though, I probably will, considering I work five minutes away from Gamestop), but if I have to wait a bit, I don't mind. Waiting makes the whole thing that much better, if you ask me! (unless it applies to Zelda, in which case, waiting is NOT good! lol)

Coulda fooled me.They look nothing like them.. 0-o

But, really...The anime I consider non-canon, it sucks so bad. I'd rather play ANY of the games made (FR/LG/HG/SS/R/S/E/D/P/Pt, mind you.The spinoff games looked just as cringe-inducing as the anime, except for perhaps _Snap_ and _Stadium_) than watch an episode of the anime. That's why I sorta pretend Yellow doesn't exist. Its whole premise is that the anime and the games are equal, and that's just not true.

Now, as for your criticisms...Really I don't see them. The lack of revenue I've NEVER encountered. If you simply meant there should be more ways to make money, I gently remind you that the more money the player has, the easier the game becomes. Oh, and BTW- if you still have a functioning GBC and G/S/C cartridge, I agree- this one isn't worth getting. But remember that the game's battery does not last forever. And unlike the batteries of a Gameboy, the cart battery is a bit more difficult to replace.

Of course you'd say that. I deliberately didn't elaborate on the part where we spent hours on the phone trying to track down just where the h*ll ~$45 of my money went. And that was the least of it. Evidently, "UR DOIN IT RONG" doesn't mean a thing to these people. My mom's debit card says "You already charged her for this, please double check your records." X4 before we can finally get it across to them "No, we don't even want the order anymore after all this. Cancel it.".

In short, multimillion dollar company hires morons. Details at six.

...And that would be why I don't handle game purchases with places like Wal-Mart icon_odd.gif...leave them to the pros, like GameStop, EBGames, etc icon_wink.gif.

Did you get your $48 back, or was that lost?

If he didn't get back his $48 dollars back, he can sue the company.
