There are some gems that would be rendered useless if the level difference didn't make you miss more often (Night Vision Gems come to mind). The only poorly designed boss in Xenoblade for me is a near end game boss that actually made quit the game in my first playthrough.

Steam's having a Star Wars games sale until the 9th, so I picked up a few games for under ten dollars: Dark Forces, Dark Forces II, Mysteries of the Sith, and both Knights of the Old Republic games. The first three are all technically part of the Jedi Knight series, and I already had Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, so I figured I'd close out the series. Plus I wanted to see Kyle Katarn's debut, as well as the original story of how the Death Star plans were stolen before Rogue One comes out and changes it. ... I just didn't expect it to be over in the first, easy mission.

I've played four missions to get a feel for it, and it's exactly what you'd expect out of an early 90s FPS: Clunky. The overall atmosphere is pretty fantastic, it looks and feels like Star Wars and I actually feel invested in trekking about, blasting stormies and fulfilling my objective. The overall mission structure is repetitive though: Enter level, find objective(s), return to ship. At least, three out of the four were that, one was just find the objective. Granted, the objectives themselves were varied, but there was a bit of backtracking involved that wasn't as fun. Plus, it's an early 90s FPS, so free-aiming wasn't a thing yet and the HUD is unintuitive.

There are ten left. I'm unsure on whether or not I want to continue it. While yes, I enjoyed what I played, I also felt like I probably took in the entire experience just from those four levels. I kind of want to play the KotOR games, since that's mainly what I wanted to play and I only got Dark Forces because of... I said it above. And now that I'm surprisingly already past that, I may just move on.

Have you ever played that N64 Star Wars game? I think it was "Shadow of the Empire" or something. You played as this guy names Dash, and Luke got captured and you had to rescue him. It was a really cool game when I got it a long time ago, and I'd be interested in playing it again for shits and gigs.

I started playing Mario Kart 8 again. I haven't played it in like 6 months, and man, have I got rusty. I also played Mario Maker again, and played a bunch of random stages. I kind of fell out of the loop on that one. Also been playing Bravely Second, but the intro is reeeaaallly slow. At least so far.

I also got a crazy idea the other day to boot up my GameCube, and play Sonic Heroes of all games. I... forgot... how.. well, you know.. it's Sonic Heroes. I like the game though, honestly. I think it is probably the best 3D Sonic Game, but that is just my opinion. It has a slew of camera, and other issues. Mostly in the levels with lots of grinding. Rail Canyon, Bullet Station, and the last area, and Hang Castle, and Frog Forest, are annoying, cause you can waste 2 minutes cause you miss a rail by like 9 pixels. One could argue it makes it 'challenging' but it is brutal at times. Over all though, SH is my favorite from that era of Sonic, and, with its flaws, it certainly does feel rewarding to beat a stage.

I was playing Rayman Legends again too, and I gotta say, that is a game that has a good approach to trial and error platformers. It is hard, and you will die a lot, but it usually starts you pretty close to where you died, and you don't waste a lot of time (And I've gotten all 700 teensies, and some of the challenge stages are ridiculous). I still think Rayman Legends is one of the best 2D platformers to come out in a looong time.

Shadows of the Empire. I never played it, but it honestly looks kinda clunky as well, if ProJared's review is anything to go by. Maybe I might try it out some day, but I'm not really intent on it.

As for Sonic Heroes, it's been ages but I honestly like it as well. There's a couple of annoyances, but I had fun with it. Not a fan of Team Chaotix's levels, but the rest are fine. Final bosses aren't very good though...

I am playing FIRE EMBLEM FATES BIRTHRIGHT right now.

I'm doing Birthright too, after doing a Conquest run. It's a nice "break" to prepare me for revelations, though I heard it isn't as tough as conquest. (which I negated with dlc maps :P )

I'm picking up Hyrule Warriors Legends and playing it on the new 3DS. Does it play solid in 2D on the new 3DS? I bought it mainly because I wanted to play HW on the go.

From what I've seen, the game runs fine on the new 3DS, going at a consistant 30 FPS and with about the same number of enemies on screen as the Wii U's version. The original 3DS is the problem; the game is basically unplayable on the older systems, running at single digit FPS with less than half the amount of enemies on screen as it should. If you've got a New 3DS, you're fine.

I was considering getting Hyrule Warriors Legends. Does the gameplay novelty wear thin after a while or is it something I can sink a lot of time into?

It depends on how much you like slashing through hordes of enemies with ease... and captain and boss type enemies with extreme tedium. It's not for everyone, but I hear that the 3DS version did some nerfing so it isn't as tedious as the Wii U levels. Which is a pain in the ass... However, as mentioned above, it's really not worth getting on regular 3DS and probably should've been a New 3DS exclusive. Then the number of New 3DS exclusive titles can bump up from one to two! A completely worthy investment. chansub-global-emoticon-ddc6e3a8732cb50f

HW Legends runs surprisingly well on the new 3DS. Even though the textures stink and the game has pop-ins, it's still the same fun HW experience. And a big plus for this game is the character swapping. Now I don't need to worry about low HP teammates as much in this version.

They let you switch control between multiple warriors, you can command playable warriors to do certain things when you're not controlling them, having multiple playable warriors around a Giant Boss gives you buffs, they added an Ocarina item to let you warp to specific checkpoints on the map, there's a higher ceiling to how good your weapons can be (especially the Master Sword), there's more variation in Adventure Map Gold Skulltula requirements, there are more ways to use magic than Focus Spirit, you can get "Rental Skills" to make some things easier, The Imprisoned doesn't automatically get up at 50% WPG depletion, Zant was buffed again (all magic bullets are now just under Moblin-sized) and can expose his WPG without exhausting himself...

...and, to make up for it, the numbers of enemy officers and urgent objectives in most levels were cranked up dramatically, Ganondorf can't take keeps in one combo anymore, the Rupee Glitch was fixed, and Manhandla has infinite turning speed.

All in all, it's about the same in terms of difficulty, but a lot less grindy in exchange for pop-ins and worse graphics and rendering.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" was on sale the other day, so I picked up a copy. I wasn't entirely sure that my PC would be able to handle it. I mean, I know that they patched the game to fix some of the insane issues from when it came out, but I remember that a bunch of people on YouTube had their computers brought to their metaphorical knees trying to get it to work, and my PC isn't exactly new. I bought it used a few years ago.

Turns out, I can get it running on the lowest settings at just barely below 30 FPS. Not full speed, not incredibly beautiful, but it looks about on par with the prior games when they were on relatively high settings, and the only time you notice any speed issues is when you see a close-up of a talking character, and the dialogue finishes before the speaking animation for each line. Typical gameplay feels just fine.

Anyways, the game's pretty fun. I don't suppose it's a spoiler to say that I stopped playing at the same point that the Joker hallucinations start. I found the first Riddler racetrack, which was really neat. I ended up replaying it to win the extra level-up for finishing under the shortest time. Took forever though, and it was only because I hit something, spun out of control for a bit, and somehow managed to stop the spin pointed the correct direction to take the next section of track at the perfect angle.

If anybody's played the game already, do you guys know if the side-missions are things that you have to stop and come back to later on? I wanted to do the firefighter rescue mission, found one, but the next one never appeared on my radar nor my map. The island's too damn big to try searching the whole thing, so I'm not sure if the game crapped out on me or if I'm expected to come back to this later on.

completed  Valchiria Chronicle, It was a nice game, a RPG tactic a bit ' different from the usual , is set in 1935 in a fictional version of Europe .

at every turn, you can decide whether to use the moves available to move the characters attack or give orders , which have an effect on allies , such as increase the defense or certain types of attacks. .

The hero fight whit a tank, strong in attack  but can be destroyed instantly if hit in a certain weak point that must be  absolutely protect, but that goes even for the enemy tanks.

an interesting thing is that the experience points can be distributed to a whole class , for example if the class "ranger" level up,all the rangers of the  party will level up no matter how many they are!

Next game will be "the legend of heroes: trails of cold steel" , seem a nice game
