I ran into a huge problem that's pretty much killed any further reason for me to play.  When I quit playing the game last night, I had saved at the beginning of the Pitfall dungeon.  When I started playing today, I went through the dungeon wondering why my sword was doing crap damage.  Figured that was the gimmick of the dungeon, played using the Hammer and the Arrows instead.  After beating it and got the L4 sword from it, I was still doing the same amount of damage I was doing in the dungeon because Link was swinging the L1 sword!  I didn't want to keep it, so I just selected Retry and undid the dungeon.  Even though I still had the graphic of the L3 sword on the A button,

he still was using the L1 sword.  How did this happen?

Edit: Before posting this, I did a few random things like closing ZC and opening it, making a new quest or two of original Zelda and LQftH2 before deleting them, accessed the file I had one more time and now I'm back to wielding the L3 sword again.  Seriously, what is going on?

Whaaaaaaaaaaat? That sounds like a Zelda Classic issue. Nothing I did should be affecting sword damage. I've heard of weapon damage issues coming from people playing/saving quests in the wrong version so maybe it's something to do with that? What version of ZC are you using? If it's before 2.50.0 (2.50 Build 24 according to ZC), problems can be expected.

Ah. This issue.

I recall getting this exact same issue while playing in Banana Blood God. After playing around a bit, I discovered that this issue affected all my save file quests, too. I experimented a bit, and figured out that for some reason, this bug happens if you play Legend of Lana Gaiden in the same session. This will revert all sword damage and sprites to level 1 until you quit and reopen ZC.

So, Locos, you probably played a buggy quest or something before opening Hookshot 2 that messed something up. It can be fixed easily by closing and reopening ZC. So, you might want to go back and get that sword.

Wait what? That makes no fucking sense. Why would shit leak between quests? (And it's not like I'm doing anything special with the sword classes in that quest). :S

I've no clue. It's something to be fixed in the next version. All I know is that every time I played the expo quest, my sword class was reverted to 1 in all quests until I quit. Maybe it's a 2.50.1 bug.

This is going to be hard as hell to find, though. Mostly because WTF ZC.

Well, it is time for another great review! First of all, Great job Moosh on the update. There are so many positive changes here. If you played the original version, I would suggest playing this version as it is almost like playing a different game. My review below contains spoilers, so read at your own risk. Spoiler aleart 5/5.

A good strategy for the Glitchevan 2.0: spam din's fire. I actually couldn't have beat him otherwise. (I'm playing on normal)

The Moosh needs to make a TK Boss somewhere in Hookshot 2.  :3

I'll eventually get around to LPing it at some point next year.  Likely gonna wait till Melee gets his run out of the way first.

Updated the quest again. This time to fix a crash that happened in the bonus boss if you enter with a potion on B. So uh, if you've yet to do the fight either update or don't start with a potion on B. :P I also tweaked the boss a little. If anyone cares for the specifics:

Nah, I understood the description and implications of Legacy Mode. Since it only effects optional dungeons, I'm fine with it, and I will likely play it again on regular, or not broken, or whatever setting it is :P I should have entered my name as Custom then I could change it in game if I wanted.

Guess what? I beat the super secret superboss!

Do I get a cookie?

EDIT: Just gotta say, after claiming the reward for the boss, I went to go fight the final boss. I thought it would be fun to USE the item on the boss...

ONE HIT KO!!!

Try going to the boss rush and using it on the bonus boss. ONE DAMAGE! In theory if you wait like a full half hour you can beat the boss using just FtG. :P
