To completely finish the dungeon you'll need to beat Level 3 and then get the harp (flute). If you go one screen north of the 2 aquamentus fight, you can walk through the right wall. Just keep going down that path to get the 4th key. You will need Level 3's weapon to get that key though.

Aww man. But where I can get candle? I don't want people hear my cussing while record let play.
I didn't think I hid it that well! lol
The candle is in the graveyard in the past. When you walk into the graveyard, go the the left one screen and push the grave. Hit the switch in the cave walk back out. Starting from the screen with the grave you just pushed, walk down, left, down, right, right. That'll lead you to the candle.
If it helps, once you get the candle you'll need to go through West Shrine to get back to the present. Then Level 3 is in the graveyard.

Ok, now i´m stuck in the legendary level 5
That room you have marked, led you to a key you needed after getting the bow. I don't think its possible to skip that one, so you're good there.
Since you have the power gloves and boss key, all you're missing is the last key in the West Shrine entrance. When you enter the West Shrine entrance, just head north all the way and solve the block puzzle for your last key.
As for the entrance to the dungeon in the past surrounded by lava, that's actually not a dungeon entrance, so no worries there!

I am also concerned that link does not have the second lvl boomerang. The only map locations missing are in the present where the hookshot cave is in the past. Also there are two guys living in stumps that do not speak. Can someone help me guide link?
So far a very good puzzle and quest.
Thx,
Das Preussische

finally got to level 8. Unfortunately I was never able to find directions through the maze in the great caves so I had to do it the old fahioned way. For anyone in a similar situation, to save time it ends in left. Where were they? Like Chiefbigcalf I went to the mountains killed the split darknut and collected the rupees, but found no directions.

The maze path through the cave was down, down, left, left. To get the path, there's a stray fairy on the mountain you can find by breaking the clumps of dirt with your hammer. Here was the location:

By Level 2 Boomerang, I assume you meant the magic boomerang?
I thought I made where you had to get it, lol. It's also on Glyco Mountain in the present, there was a hint on Death Mountain in a cave as to where. Check the spoiler for it, if you like. If you mean the Fire Boomerang, its also in the quest, but in Level 9.
Glad you're enjoying the quest though. I really like Level 8.

I've been away from ZC for a long time, but a year or two ago I was very active and played all the best quests. Shoelace's "Hero of Dreams" was my favourite quest back then, and this quest oozes the same quality. I was a big big fan of the Oracle games and links Awakening, so the GBC graphics are a joy to see in this quest.
But boy!... is the first dungeon boss really supposed to be that hard or am I just extremely rusty?
I would have liked the bow rather than the slingshot I think.
I must have died 15 times before I finally beat it.
Looks like I have a tough time ahead.

Level 8's item is Din's Fire. It's located on B1F. You have to go through the majority of the dungeon to get it. Have you made it to the top (6F) and stepped on the switch to lower light purple tiles? If not, that's your first step. If you're having a hard time making it to the top, look for clues on lower floors that explain secrets on higher floors. The hardest puzzle of the dungeon is probably the block maze on 3F that directly correlated to the room on 1F that matched it (only difference being that on 1F you didn't have to do the maze and it highlighted where the triggers were).
Once the tiles are lowered, head to 2F. Go left, up, right. You'll come to a block maze, and after clearing the maze you'll come to the room where the purple tiles have been lowered. Go on through the passages to get back up to 4F where you can fall down the tower to B1F.
On B1F, you'll need to kill the enemies to the left of where you drop down (it can be kinda challenging) to get the key you need. Then seek out the locked door to come to the mini boss for Din's Fire.
Good luck!

You shouldn't be stuck. There's also two keys in the Dungeon of Trials #2.
Here's the location of the keys:
