Umm, maybe even Professor Evergreen icon_confused2.gif. Also, if the legends are dealing with Heaven/Hell or Light/Dark, the Team would probably be along the lines of:

-Team Retribution
-Team Judgement
-Team Salvation
-Teams Light/Bright (To spread Light), and Dark/Dim (To spread Darkness)
-Team Ram & Team Rom
-Team Oblivion

...maybe icon_shrug.gif...

I really love most of those, but sadly, they're probably too mature to go in a Pokemon game. I think Cyrus's attempts at become a god in Platinum are the closest we'll ever get to a really dark evil team.

That being said, looking at how they're capitalizing on the light/dark theme, I'm guessing they'll do something like R/S did. Two teams, on light, one dark. In white, dark guys are trying to get Zekrom, and light guys help you stop them. In Black, it's the other way around. Or something like that.

If they do decide to just go with one enemy team, I'd vote for one a friend of mine once told me:

Team Omega.

Still hoping that maybe, just maybe the powers-that-be at Game Freak decide that Team Rocket needs a comeback. At least their evil plans had some sort of achievable goal. I always felt that Cyrus (and really the legendary Pokemon plot in general) in D/P/Pl was sort of dumb, since you end up capturing the legendary anyway which is the same as or worse than what Cyrus was trying.

Fun fact: capturing Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina will not give you the ability to become a diety. I've done it... you just get to be a huge doucher with overpowered Pokemon to all the opposing in-game trainers.

Ebola, I think you're missing something. Just because a 27 (or did Looker say he's 24?) year old mad man can become a deity by capturing Giratina, doesn't mean that a 14 year old kid who knows nothing on the topic can. icon_razz.gif

Anyways, I don't really want to see the Rockets make a comeback. After all, let's compare the different teams and their success.

Rockets (Giovanni) - Try to take over a cooperation, and fail.
Rockets (Archer) - Try to take over a radio tower, and fail.
Aqua/Magma - Wake up Groudon and Kyogre and nearly destroy all of Hoenn.
Galactic - Capture the lake trio, chain Palkia and Dialga, and would have taken over the world, if it hadn't been for Giratina appearing.

Looks to me like the Rockets fail the worst. icon_razz.gif

I think the Rockets and Giovani should return and actually achieve their goal and destroy the world. It'll be a HUGE plot twist for Pokemon.

But that's the problem. First of all, what is their goal? Giovanni seemed to only be in it for money, and all of Archer's elaborate scheme was just to show Giovanni they they could do something and get him to return. So the Rockets achieving their goal would just be Giovanni sitting on a pile of cash. Not too exciting.

However, there is something that could be neat. In HG/SS, the Rocket grunt you beat in Kanto, upon learning that Archer disbanded them, says that he will go back to his own country and restart Team Rocket there. I think it would be hysterical if Team Rocket came back with him as their boss. icon_razz.gif

In the manga series, under the FireRed/Leaf Green chapters, Giovanni was causing chaos and pandemonium not for money, but to find his son Silver, and to use Deoxys to reign supreme with Silver along side him. Maybe they can pull a Team plot that matches that level of intensity.

That'd be sweet. I'm all for Rocket's return, even if I probably won't buy either of these games. I think it'd be cool if they gave more reason and more character to the teams though. Like, show more than just their dark side--show that they're human and have emotions as well, and what drove them to their breaking point to stop at nothing to achieve their goal.

Am I making sense hear...?

Yes, you are. They tried it somewhat in Platinum, I think. There's a tad bit of back story about Cyrus, the shy, bullied kid from Sunnyshore. I'd like to see something like that, but better. Make us almost sympathize with the villain for once.

Another relation to the manga icon_biggrin.gif! So, here we go:

Silver was kidnapped by Pryce while he was very young, because Pryce saw him to be a great trainer he could use. Silver, years later, escaped with Green (the chick that you can play as on R/B/G/Y), and sought revenge. After helping Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, and Crystal, Silver decided to travel to Viridian to trace his roots. Giovanni, having captured Deoxys, was now looking for his son when he was confronted by Red. PSP Limits icon_frown.gif.

Lt. Surge is from America. The Pokedex says Poliwrath can swim across the Pacific Ocean. Fantina meantions she's foreign, and I believe (though not sure) she mentions Europe. I'm pretty sure the Pokemon world regions are supposed to be Japan.
Actually, I just wanted to come back to this thing... you see, I just booted up Colosseum again, just for kicks... and I didn't really think the region looked much like Japan at all. Apparently, Colosseums region is based off of Arizona, the first town being inspired by Phoenix. Not only is the method which was used in the in-game village of getting water to the town similar, but the developers apparently also stated this themselves.

So no, they're not all based off of Japan icon_razz.gif

Sorry for going a little off-topic though.

Anyways, I have gotten some inside information, actually, regarding these games. Now, I can't really say, as it's a reason my friend trusted me with the information, but it's not like it's that big of a deal anyway... and heck, it might prove even not to be true... but I will say that if it IS true, then I'm slightly worried about the overall gameplay feel of the game. I'm sorry if I'm being a little cryptic, but it's really all I can say. If my friends sources are true (and they have been very right about things like this before), then I'm sure Game Freak are able to do it in a way so that it won't hurt the franchise, I mean, they're Game Freak. icon_razz.gif Tell you what though, I will know in about a weeks time if the information was false or not, so if it still hasn't been revealed then, there's no harm in telling you what it was, simply because it wasn't true... but we won't know for sure, so until then, just... I dunno, keep a close watch on Serebii or something.

I can almost picture the next game. Pokemon Brown: Surviving the Post-Apocalypse. icon_razz.gif Brown, to symbolize the recent brown/"realistic" color-scheme games of this kind have had. :icon_razz.gif

And appearently Isshu isn't either. They announced that it's far away from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, which I'm pretty sure means it isn't in Japan.

Now you really have me interested. Where did your friend get the information?
