General questions:

  • Is Underlit Landing going to be a dungeon, or a cave system?
  • Also, is Underlit Landing only the bridge area that goes through (or into a dungeon)? I'm asking cause I might still add some cave tiles for more "general purpose" caves areas.
  • Since we are into Level 3, should we think about placing the Level 2 sword somewhere?

Underlit is a minidungeon I believe. Also, we haven't finished level 1 yet and we only have 3 screens of level 2 :O

For now at least, Underlit Cavern is a minidungeon which is pretty much just the bridge and surrounding caves (some of which you have to go through, hopefully, because that'd be cool).
Also, yeah, next screen I'll make, I'll make more of whatever dungeon. Just wanted to get Underlit Cavern started because I really liked my own idea.

Ye, Peppermint is the outside portion. Maybe have a few caves and sideview sections too for it.

Stuff I did:
>> Consistancy fix: Made sure all D-maps are using "New+B" for their active and passive subscreens.

>> Moved the Warp Zone located on map 1, screen 17 to 06. Dimentio's 17 below my 07 was intended to connect via the caves. I took it a step further and..

>> Added in some additional custom cave tiles, and started "Upper Lit Caverns" on Map 23, Screen 26. This is kind of supposed to be a cave system for the mountains (lava and ice), the skyline area, and separate from Underlit Landing (which is more of a mini dungeon). That's not to say, they can't connect somehow, though. There are three variations; there's a purple/ Norfair/ lava cave c-set, a blue not Lava Reef rip-off cause I'm stealing the cooled off gimmick to maybe connect with the icy mountain area, and a standard brown cave c-set
  • New tiles added to pages 156, and 157.
  • New combos associated with said tiles added on Combo page 12. Please feel free to add more objects as you see fit.
  • Made a new palette, "27: New Caverns 1" which has three c-sets for the caves mentioned above. C-set 2 is purple, C-set 3 is Blue/ cooled, and C-set 4 is brown.
  • The stalactites/ stalagmites will, and do have glaring perspective issues. This is very apparent if you make a screen above or below a screen with continuous formations. So, uh, sorry about that. But heyyy, it's charm, right?
  • Lava is solid. I'm open to making this "real lava" but I don't know how. The 'pits' are "No Ground Enemy pits".

>> Made a combo alias for the 4x4 lava-rock-bubble-thing.
  • Layer 0 is the background lava flow effect.
  • Layer 1 is the 'lava mask'.
  • Layer 2 is the bubble structure.

>> NOTE: Layer 6 on my map is set to transparent, and meant for use with a shadow effect for the south-facing walls.
  • On that note, the stalactites and stalagmites are meant to be used as overhead visual flair, on Layer 3, or 4.
  • If people don't like the stalactites and stalagmites, they can be removed. I know they are kind of weird, and un-user friendly. :s

>> Added some stem tiles (p.155) for the Baba Bud, and added one more Baba Bud to my screen in Level 2. (before realizing Dimentio already tweaked the Buds there to accomodate the gap. Welp, I figure since it's near the start, why not have one extra to learn? >.>)

>> Went through, and fixed an error in my map list that lead to some confusion (all on my part). Map list should now be 100% accurate.
