From the entrance go up three times, then up one more time through a secret passage to get a key. Go back to the previous room, go left, and there you can unlock the gate and access the rest of the level.

You have to complete most of the level before you can get the arrows and finally take down that green Gohma.

I unloked that gate already. I've seen two gohmas not one.

Ok, I don't think I correctly understand where you are stuck then. Perhaps post a screenshot of your map?

Are you using the lens in rooms where it seems like you are blocked? It will reveal things. At times you also have to use the army's "secret weapon" you found near the entrance.

Seems I Need to get the Mirror Shield to take out this Mirror Robe and the shieldless darknuts 2 screens right of him. Where do I find it exactly?

Yes, there are two items to find using the lens in the overworld after the Forest of Illusion, both of them in the area. The mirror shield is one of the two. The guy at the end of the forest dropped a hint about them, but I'll be making his hint more precise in an update as well.

I got the lens from the forest, but was wondering if most of the enemies in the forest are supposed to be invisible or is it a bug?

Those who are invisible are meant that way, it's the forest of illusion after all

Where is the mermaid cave? Am I able to get there before beating level 2? I could really use potion to beat the boss.

no, not for a while. And I made a mistake, in the village (not the past) use the hookshot to reach the island. Lvl 2 is very beatable without potions

To beat the level 2 boss, I recommend that you

go to the top corner, face down, and wait for him to move so that his head is within reach. You'll be able to block his fireballs easily (you do have the magic shield?) and he won't be able to push you down the holes.

Yes. Fight that boss like I suggested and you should find yourself the proud owner of a new Triforce piece very soon.

Hmm... am I the only one that's gotten stuck at Death Mtn?
I defeated a green wizzrobe in death mountain, but I've run across a 2nd green wizzrobe that I can't reach. I also found a sleeping cow and can't figure out what to do with it.

I love the musical touch in the Vampire castle. Grim Reaper's "Melty Blood" music. Wish you could have done something like that for the vampire himself instead of the generic UN Squadron music. I also love the boss in the ghost cave. Very clever. The folks at Aurcade will get a kick out of it for sure.

you only need to fight one green wizzrobe in that level, so that second one is a red herring; using the lens on the screen above will reveal the real passage
