If you're having trouble with the endbosses, keep in mind that mobility, defense and regeneration are your biggest priorities. Your health will go down quickly in those fights, so if you don't have proper back-up, it's very easy to get taken down.
If things get too hectic, keep in mind that you do have a bit of mercy invincibility when you're hit, so try to focus on the spots where you'll take the least amount of damage (the Destroyer's body, for instance. Or the not-enraged twin once you enrage one of them. This strategy doesn't really work with Skeletron Prime, but if you've armed yourself with accessories that enhance speed, this shouldn't be a worry).
Spoilerman is an asshole though and any hatred to him and to those who brought him into the world is totally warranted and promoted. Those who say otherwise deserve to be yelled at. Harshly.

Are you kidding? They only became that way because everyone got used to them. No one can say they were that easy within the first couple of fights.
I beat the Destroyer solo on my second try with my ranged character. I only failed to defeat it the first time because I ran out of time. I crafted the Megashark and then solo'd the Twins on my first attempt. Though I couldn't survive either as a Mage, when I took them on with my brother. Though it the fact that I got a bad reforge every single time I attempted to reforge my Crystal Storm for ~50 gold each time didn't help. ~2 Platinum went straight down the drain
The first fight with Destroyer was certainly rough, but then you're able to craft the Megashark and...yeah....
EDIT: Also that anti-gravity potion is pretty busted too. I suppose the problem here isn't the bosses, but the sheer power of the equipment you can get fairly easily.
>_>
Both the Megashark and Gravity potions are OP against bosses. The Megashark does an insane amount of damage, is cheap for a hallowed-tier weapon to reforge (35 gold to reforge a normal Megashark) and has a very long range, though I find running Ranged to be too costly against normal enemies. I think that the Megashark should get nerfs in terms of reforging price and damage to balance it with the Hallowed Repeater. The mere fact that you can alter gravity with the Gravity Potion, making you near impossible to get hit, is broken against bosses. To be honest, I think that each of the Hardmode bosses should have given everyone who is in the fight a debuff that prevents usage of the Magic Mirror and a cheat-detection system for abusing the Gravity buff. However, they are nowhere near as good against regular enemies because buying the ammo in the necessary quantities to make effective usage of the Megashark is costly and takes a lot of room in your inventory while the ingredients to create the Gravity potions are difficult to obtain in the large quantities for normal fighting.

Which leads me to wonder: what will these challenges be and how will they be implemented?

No new games until late May. This is happening. It's less than two months from now. I mean how much more content can he add?! There's already more new content than there was in 1.1.0.
Maybe not quite...Hard Mode tripled the length of the game. Maybe he's doing it more...in that case, this game will be more than worth the $10-$15 it currently is XD.

I'm curious to see what all these new items and stuff are and do, but otherwise it'll likely end with me having fun with it for a week or so, then getting bored with it again. It almost feels like once you do everything once, you've done it all. I don't find a lot of fun in starting characters over for whatever reason. Probably because starting from scratch sucks in comparison to the character you built up.
I sort of agree, except when there are new things to do, get, and try out when you start over, your character can be built way differently x3.

Kidding aside, I look forward to what he will have in store. It's amazing that he is still working on this game. For a $10 game, Redigit has certainly reached for the stars beyond the floating islands.

I was thinking the same. I've got over 500 hours in this game, which is way more time than I've put into any other big time game. And there's going to be even more once the update comes out. This is the month of truth (or sometime the beginning of next month).Next thing he will add: The duality world option.

I would have to agree with you there. Once we find out exactly how much new stuff is there, it will be easier to know how much playing around in single player we would want to do before trying it all out in multiplayer. I imagine it wouldn't be until sometime in June when we start the multiplayer thing, but it's still too early to get into details.Just further confirmation that this game is going to be effing MASSIVE. Probably doubling the length of this already long game again, which I don't mind. I'll probably have to do my research and figure out all the new crafting recipes (and most likely using the wiki) before I get on the planned server (at whatever time)...I'd hate to go in clueless and wander aimlessly XP. I like to have goals when I'm traveling, like finding a Magic Mirror, Life Crystals, Ores, and such.
