Yoshi -

A little plain. I would add some Octoroks and some water waves.

And that screen of mine - Link can fall (With an animation)

But, he just appears back at the beginning of the room. On the upper floor, he will fall back down to that floor he's on now.
Plus, the room already has pillars. I need to add candles.
The "Random shield" on the wall is actually an arrow trigger.
The "Random ground transitions" are like that because the dungeon was originally on the ground, on top of a mountain.

So, NoeL, the dungeon DOES have a background, with everything. Please PLEASE don't assume if I don't tell you something, okay? icon_wink.gif

Whoa, I LOVE the way you planned it out like this. THIS is the kind of thought people should put into dungeons. Do this for everything, and I'll probably play the quest even if everything else about it sucks. I love it when people but thought into things like this.

But now to this. Why was it an arrow trigger? Did shields and arrows have some significance to whoever built the place? If you're gonna think it through as much as you did, don't stop there! Go the whole nine yards!

I have been tinkering around with the pure_remembrance tileset. This is my first screen as it is rightfully named "Skill Test #1" I am testing to see how well I use the pure_remembrance stuff. it makes me wish i had started AoD with this tileset, but I have a highly modified version of dor with all of this set's palettes. My next quest will be made with this tileset.

So, what do you think?

EDIT: Ahhhhh *facepalm, forgot to close that open corner....but i'm too tired now. Me need sleep..ZzZzZzZzZz

Honestly, the open corner doesn't bug me. The screen layout is perfect; my only complaint is the flowers. They're all the same tile, same color. I don't know exactly how Pure Remembrance is set up, but if it's like DoR, then use some of the other flower tiles (ya know, the different patterns) and some different colors. Otherwise, it's pretty much a perfect shot.

I know you're being sarcastic, but just so everyone gets the joke, the mountains are poop and Link's items are a toilet and newspaper.
Also:

Thanks for the accompanying video, Pkmnmstr. It was actually a challenge getting the brown to be just the right color... and I wasn't sure just how gold I wanted the urine to be. I would almost consider a quest like this, except I know you don't want to play in a world of feces. I get the feeling it isn't far from Valerie's rendition of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Old-skool, it seems to be obvious that you dislike the critique thread, but the way you did so wasn't necessary. Since this is not part of a quest being made and is more of a pointless joke aimed at the screenshooters and critics, it is considered spam. If you wish to share an opinion about the purpose of this thread, please do so in the Assistance and Prepositions forum, or if you wish to be truly honest in what you say without major risk of a reprimand, post it in the Dropbox. May I remind you why we closed the original Screenshot thread in the first place, and penned this thread as a replacement - Some people could not take criticism and therefore would attack the critics. We wish to prevent this from happening again.

So please refrain from further posting shots that are not part of a quest that is in progress and have little value for the critics to critique. Thank you.

Hey, guys. I just wanted to know what you thought of this screen. When I entered it in SotW318, only two people actually gave me their opinions on it.

Questions, comments, complaints? I'm all ears.

I'm really diggin' the hill/mountain transition. The palette is just gorgeous, it compliments the rustic look. Well done!

I give you a 3/10 on those screens. Welcome to the majority of screens! You did manage to use Pure correctly, but it cannot make up for the thousands of other shots like that. Nothing creative, or new.

Well then there's really no point in making a quest now is there? If its just gonna look boring and old.

Come on, Yoshidude. It's comments like these that got the OQST closed. Let's chillax, and take our criticism with a grain of salt. Let's be mature about this. Everybody has their own opinions, and some people may have negative criticism to give.

I'm sorry if I sound like a rent-a-mod, but I don't want this to turn into something bigger than it has to be. I'm only trying to defuse the situation.

Edit: Yoshidude edited in the second sentence in his post a few minutes after the first sentence.

As Furion said, these screens looks pretty much what you'd expect a quest using Pure to look like. They're not bad, but they are boring to look at.

There's a few things you could go about making it a little more unique, the most obvious of which is using a custom palette, or at least one that haven't been used in almost every single Pure-quest ever made. Other things you could do, is things like replacing a few of the graphics. A new tree for example, might give it an extra "edge". Also, that one tree... you know, the one that's different than all the others... that looks really out of place. icon_wink.gif
