Usually by "Holiday season" they mean around Christmas or sooner. Or at least late fall. Sonic Generations was slated for release "Holiday 2011," and its release date has now been set at November 22nd, so that's basically what they mean by "holiday season."

The thing is though, we have the patience to wait it out as we know Nintendo more often then not delivers on there promises and make great games. We also all know that making great bug free games takes a lot more time then rushed buggy games that need numerous patches (Xbox360/ps3). Usually when a unavoidable game breaking bug is found in a game, Nintendo does a product recall, Nintendo doing such a thing is extremely rare due to it rarely needing to be done not to mention Nintendo usually fully covers any and all expenses involved in getting the product replaced (Except fuel/transport to a post office/box >.>").

I was told at my local EB Games that it was set to launch on Nov. 1st. I'm not saying that it's a liable source or anything; it's just what I was told.

I'm doubtful, but I'm curious as to whether or not they'll offer any sort of pre-order bonus this time around. I think it'd be pretty cool if they did, but again, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

shops etc. won't know until Nintendo tells them. Take whatever information a retailer tells you with a grain of salt until Nintendo proclaims the release dates.

Do you know if Skyward Sword is going to have Motion Plus bundled with it? I don't have Wii Motion Plus yet, and I think $20 is a ripoff to buy it separately.

I kind of already suggested that. icon_wink.gif

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you could get an entire Wii remote with it built in. I'd go with that if anything since it gives you another Wii remote in the event you want to have people over to play or something. icon_smile.gif Though it would be handy to have that bundled with it.

I believe the Zelda 25th Anniversary Wii remote has Motion Plus built in. I don't think Nintendo's said if it will be bundled with Skyward Sword, though. My guess is it will be; it is a major release and all.

I'm sure they'll have both types of Skyward Sword: one with Wii Motion Plus bundled with, and one without.

Also, I think it's confirmed that, similar to Ocarina of Time 3DS, there will be a Skyward Sword OST giveaway coinciding with the release of Skyward Sword. I don't know if this means that it'll work in the same manner (registering your product at Club Nintendo), and I also don't know if it will be free. But, I'm pretty sure that they are making a Skyward Sword OST to be available at launch.

Actually, shops usually do know. Because Nintendo tells them, of course, but my point is that GameStop probably knows right now when Skyward Sword's release date is set. That does not mean it won't be postponed and so on, but chances are, if GameStop gives you a date, it usually means they know. I mean, it'd be pretty silly if they gave you any date without you know, having a piece of paper to read it off from. A piece of paper which details originate from game publishers and PR-people.

Basically: they wouldn't mention it unless they have a source, and said source is almost always whoever's handling the game icon_razz.gif

You know who else knows? Nintendo of Europe, and here's what they have to say:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is going to release in August of this year.

...

...

Oh, Lawd, don't be messin' with me now!

...

Ok, I really don't know how much I can believe that. Nintendo undoubtedly stated that it was slated for a Holiday release. Now, unless the Holiday window reaches all the way back to August, well... I think Nintendo of Europe is pulling a late April Fools. Also, hasn't NoE been wrong on release dates before?

Yes some copies of Zelda: Skyward Sword come bundled with a Wiimote with motion plus integrated into it. Nintendo said it either during a conference or at some point before e3.

It's also been said 1000 times before, and I'm pretty sure it's been on the wikipedia article since the name of the game was released, guys. Why wouldn't the game come with Wii Motion +?

I mean, I guess it's fair game if they think they need even more money, of course. (MEANWHILE AT ACTIVISION)

Yeah why on earth bundle a device not capable of motion+ with a game that requires such technology to work?

As stated, the game will probably come out with multiple versions, one with the Wii Motion Plus packaged in, one without. Nintendo could say forget it, though, since a lot of people are thought to have the addition now, but I dunno if they would want to do that.

Yes. They've been wrong multiple times. icon_razz.gif Though, most of those times are with 3rd party games. But, regardless, the holiday season just makes the most sense. If it were as early as August, I'm pretty sure Nintendo would have gone out and said the release date at E3 since that's so soon. icon_shrug.gif

I claim bulls*** on that. Not that it necessarily is happening this time, but I know for a fact that game stores at least in the US slap on random dates that are roughly around the time of the released. They are often wrong. Again, not saying that it's the case in this situation, but it has happened before, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again.
