I could even see someone airdodge suiciding just so another player can't make it back to the stage. If teammates can use the move together, I can see even more strategy (launching teammates into the air, saving them from doom while you still have your second jump and up-B to recover back to the stage, etc.

You just reminded me of the cutscene in Super Smash Bros. Melee's Peach's Castle in Adventure mode, where Mario jumps to the fray, only to get trounced by Luigi. icon_lol.gif I can't wait to see how this skill is utilized, as well.

And today, there's another assisst trophy, "Knuckle Joe" from Kirby.

I'm still not sure about the idea of assisst trophies, personally. I think they're far too like pokeballs (except with non-pokemon, that is.)

Yes and it also looks powerful. I meen if it can send wairo and yoish flying both at the same time it must be power full.

But relly he is just anthore Assist Trophie witch to me looks like anthore pok ball.

But lets just hope he is as powerful as he looks

Maybe Assist Trophies will be selectable for On/Off in the items menu. icon_shrug.gif

K. Nice addition. Not really much to say. icon_unsettled.gif

I've thought of an option that would be somewhat beneficial: giving each item a frequency meter. Maybe you want a particular item to show up in the fight, but not as often as other items. Though it would be somewhat complex. icon_shrug.gif

Aw, but where's the fun in that? Because then it's like you know when the pow hammer will turn up!

I prefer things to be randomized when it comes to items. So if there was a frequency meter for them, I wouldn't use it.
But isn't that about the same as being able to turn off things you don't want?

Knuckle Joe doesn't seem to be like the Pokemon, when it comes to what it does when it appears. Pokemon do only one attack, then leave. Knuckle Joe is doing three. Either he does three attacks at once, or he's actually an assist character that teams up with the character who released him.

I think that's the idea. The Assist Trophy characters team up with whoever summoned them for a few seconds, and they use their own attacks.

Guessing they can be turned off just like any other item...

I wouldn't say Knuckle Joe's attacks are super-strong. Yoshi & Wario might have a ton of damage. Or maybe the attack does average damage with good knockback.

Animus, Knuckle Joe doesn't do three attacks.

A storm of Vulcan Jabs rain down, and then Knuckle Joe can finish his foes off with one of the following two special moves!

He only does two attacks. But that's irrelevant. icon_blah.gif

Speaking of people with Knuckle in their names, if Sonic was a character, Knuckles could be an assist trophy. icon_drool.gif

To be honest, I don't think it looks like that good a final smash.

It looks like it only affects a (Relatively) small area compared to other final smashes.

Yeah. I thought the same thing. Screenshots really don't do justice with this update. I'd probably have to see it in action before I can say something about it. Well, other than "I saw that one coming". icon_blah.gif

That's... interesting.

So, Final Smashes are interactive? Or at least some of them? I dunno...

Well, not the coolest update, but a'ight.

Hmm... what if he's on the Pit stage and ends up destroying the ground that he's playing on? icon_deformed.gif
