2 here - one cool, one... not so much.

1. Finally beat Dragon Quest IV's final boss. Had I known that the Zenithian Sword could remove enemy buffs it would've been a little easier... but I still managed to win... even if I did have to get an absurd number of Yggdrasil leaves beforehand and use a fair amount of them.

2. Managed to get wiped out by Falkner. I mean, FALKNER. I did come back with a Mareep to wipe out his team fairly quickly though, so it just about evens out.

Just defeated FF8's Omega Weapon with in a no-level* game. In FF8, enemies and bosses level up with your characters, so remaining at very low levels throughout the game can be highly advantageous. However, Omega Weapon is always at Level 100; he has the same stats (1,161,000 HP!!!) and moves regardless of what level you're on when you challenge him, so beating him at a low level is considered the second-greatest challenge of the game. Also looking back now, I still had Irvine's default shotgun and only Zell's second gloves... I should get better weapons now. icon_razz.gif

The greatest challenge is the completely ridiculous no-junction challenge, which prevents you from using magic, items, GF's (summons), or improving your stats outside of basic leveling (which is woefully inadequate in this game).

*Technically I did level up twice; I accidentally leveled Squall and Irvine once each. However, I do not think that this really has an effect on the integrity of the run, as I still was forced to abide by the no-level "rules" (no Lion Heart for Squall, no Pulse Ammo for Irvine). This also meant that I didn't have Squall's ultimate Limit Break, which is able to take a fourth of Omega Weapons HP each time it is used. Such is the challenge. icon_biggrin.gif

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaaaaaand beat the game. Zell = auto-win.

I tied up the world record to beat Piston Honda (2nd time) in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!. 1:09:90. That is, before the new method was found to beat him in 0:56:97.

I beat Boss Rush mode on Cave Story Wii. I never thought KSSU's True Arena would ever have competition for hardest boss rush mode, but I think it just got beat.

Just beat Army of Two on Easy. Not much of an accomplishment, but it's a fairly hard game, even on Easy.

Just beat Jasmine in SoulSilver. This wouldn't be worthy of this thread, save for the fact that her Steelix was 9-10 levels above what my pokemons' levels were.
Azumarill+Surf and Quilava+Flame Wheel were the two pokes that helped me actually win that battle - the others were more stopgaps so that I could heal my paralyzed Quilava than anything else, really.
Edit: 1111. Eh.

I finally 100% Super Mario Advanced (Super Mario Brother 2). That is, getting all the Ace Coins, Yoshi Eggs and all that fun stuff. icon_razz.gif

Took me long enough to do. T_T (I've had this game for at least 5 or 6 years.)

This isn't too much of an achievement, but I beat Misty in FireRed using only a Charmeleon. (I consider this to be a slight achievement because it was Water-type vs. Fire-type, and I still won)

Whether or not it was an achievement depends on what level you were. icon_razz.gif

On a similar not, in LeafGreen, I beat Lt. Surge with a Wartortle and a Pidgeoto. That was tough. icon_razz.gif

I can't remember what level it was at. I think it was 26, but I'm not sure.

Right now I'm playing Super Mario Bros., and I beat World 7. That's an achievement because I'm horibble at the original Mario.

I finally beat Adventure of Link. It took three treks through the Great Palace to do it, but it sure was rewarding (despite not having much of a reward. icon_razz.gif)

I beat Deathbringer Thanatos!! icon_biggrin.gif In Aeons of Death, he's the hardest new boss to beat. In fact, at first glance, he's literally impossible to defeat. Here he is taking on fifty five of the game's best and baddest baddies, and he wins. Easily.

And I beat him. I beat Deathbringer Thanatos. He dropped the HellHeavenHand, which is easily the single most overpowered weapon I have ever seen in gaming to date.

It has three attack modes. The third one, when you hold in the button, makes you entirely invincible, reflects all attacks back at their source, and continually regenerates your health and armor. Isn't that overpowered?

Not as much as the second one. When you use the second attack mode, everything in sight just dies. Seriously. That's it. They just die. They explode in the most messy of ways possible.

What can get more devastating than that? NOTHING, you say? You're funny. You're a funny little man in a funny little hole. I LAUGH AT YOU.

Admittedly, it's hard to beat instantly killing everything in sight. But what you can't make up for in raw area killing power, you can make up for in SHEER, ABJECT COOLNESS.

When you use the first attack, time freezes. Nothing but you and your allies can move. The weapon charges up audibly, charges, charges, charges, charges, charges, CHARGES, CHARGES, White and blue light focusing at the apex of the cannon's discharge point, and then BOOM, a solid pillar of light gets ejected at your enemy as time unfreezes itself. Anything in front of it is simply massacred with absolutely no hope of redemption. It's a bloodbath, man. A bloodbath.
icon_glare.gif

Freaking awesome.

And I killed him.
