Old screen is old in which I no longer have on my computer, feel free to critic it though.

I enjoy the GB style. I think the area is balanced and flows well, beautiful tiles too.

Because I am remaking a GB game, I decided to saturate and brighten the quest's colors.

Looks nice Marco! The only slight problem I see is that the bricks are cutoff a bit, no big deal. It has a pleasant palette that fits well with a village area. Nice job! icon_thumbsup.gif

Nice Marco. The only thing I don't like is the stone road tiles.

Very nice OoCrack. The green torches are awkward though.

I liked it, but the torches weren't what came to mind initially. I think the two statues could use a bit more shading so they match the walls. Other than that, I like this one much better than the first version.

You know, if you stop and think about it, the new throne room is much more realistic than the first one. The first one's far too open, the new version has it much easier to guard the king from attack if somebody were to try and kill him. He even has those two statues to act as additional cover.

Please excuse the lack of the detail, but I am interested in critique of the palette. This is an example screen of Death Mountain in Souls of Wisdom 2, the story behind this version of Death Mountain is that after Link defeated Ganon in the Evil Realm, and made his wish to destroy the Dark World, a piece of the Dark World got sucked into the Light World before it was destroyed completely. Resulting in a snowy environment in the Light World that has a piece of that Dark World glow, without the Dark World evil.

I call this palette Twilight Winter. Criticisms please.

Doesn't look that bad. But the orange snow looks a little strange. I know its a Twilight Winter. But it could be less orange.
Edit I mean the snow could be less orange.

Thanks for the criticism.

I normally would have agreed with you immediately. But being from a region that gets ALOT of snow in winter time, and also being in a city with alot of city lights, orange snow is not bizarre to me.

Most of the time you'll never see orange snow, but when there is enough clouds to reflect the city lights, and just a touch of fog, you enter a brand new world.

One time, I have walked home from work, on a trail beside a pond that was beside a playground, and I was simply amazed by what I saw. it was 3am in the morning, what should normally be pitch black, was nothing but a bright orange environment caused by the clouds reflecting the city lights back to the city. I could see every swing, every tree, even though it was 3am in the morning. It was an unbelievable sight which I wanted to reflect into this scene.

Because I am open to opinion, I will change this on the discussion.

Well with that said, You reproduced that effect pretty good NJF. Me myself never seen orange snow. (I do see plenty of yellow snow >.<).
But me I live in the middle of nowhere. so at night there is no lights around. and in the winter all you might see at night. is the snow right in front of you.

Can't really say I'm a fan of the mountain layout but the palette does look nice.

Well Shane, the layout is slopped together only to present the palette.

Maybe make the oranges look a little more natural? Right now they look orangish-pink.
