Yes, I'm sure finding incompetent teammates no good at the game is exclusive to Nintendo's online games and doesn't happen anywhere else. :P

Oh, gods forbid if it started happening in other online games

Also, got the new Hyrule Edition 3DS today... currently doing a system transfer of content, which is taking forever! Gah I wish that copying from SD card to SD card via computer actually worked for me, would have saved so much time!

I'm also currently close to HR100 in MH4U, two more ranks to go! (I have a back up on my computer of the SD content, just in case the system transfer fails for some reason... I just hope that the themes transfer over) Once I can get to it, I think I'll finally do the final egg mission, as well as finish the 6* caravan quests just to get the rainbow pigment option unlocked. i just don't want to transfer 3 wyvern eggs and deliver them... it's such an annoying mission premise!

On another aspect of the game, I am very much enjoying the Long Sword. I think that I'm getting quite profecient at it, not anywhere near as good as I am at the Sword and Shield, but still quite good :)

Also, my favorite spot when fighting the Dah'ren Mohran is ontop of the back fin, in both the final showdown and the boat part. It's hard to get onto it on the boat part, but once you do, you can do alot of damage to it without worrying about falling off until it goes under the sand, or if it falls onto it's side. In the final showdown, you don't have to worry about it's jumping forwards, or hitting you when it moves and such as that!

***Update***

3DS transfer successful, save files and games are all safely in the new system as well as the themes :D so all is good! :)

The main purpose for getting on its back during the boat sequence is to mine its back for resources. You can also do this in the 2nd phase (Climb on it) and you can even mine it when it has keeled over/been stunned during the 2nd phase (Several carve locations).

Hoping to finally get the grind done to start NG+ in Tales of the Abyss (just gotta beat Nebilim, and then I'm set to grind) and I'm going to beat Luigi's Mansion in one sitting for Halloween.

So, it looks that finally I found a western rom hack of Super Metroid that pleased me: Super Metroid Eris.

That's what I call classic Metroid spirit (exploration, survival, sense of alien world...).  It feels like a sequel of Metroid 2. I'm really enjoying myself with this game. I feel that I really need every expansion and the world design is truly a work of love (aside some odd palettes).

My only gripe is that the design encourages open world exploration, but the world is full of locks, so there is a correct sequence. But the game don't give you any direction, you can waste time in the incorrect places, so it's a bit contradictory. Luckily, the world isn't very big so it's not something game breaking.

Last thing I found was the speed booster.

Well that settles it. When I finish Julius Mode and scouring Symphony of the Night for everything, I'm gonna play me some Metroid. All of it. In chronological release order. Main series games that is. And not Other M because no.

Metroid (NES)

Metroid II: Return of Samus

Super Metroid

Metroid Fusion

Metroid Prime

Metroid: Zero Mission

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Metroid Prime Hunters

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

... hm. Burn through the 2D titles quickly that way. But then if I went in series chronological order, that'd burn through the Prime games too quickly, plus it would put Zero Mission right after 1 and, even if it's a heavy update, I'd rather not do so. Ah well, release order it is. Fusion and Prime came out the same day in America so maybe I could swap them. We'll find out when I get there. This'll finally give me a chance to play Zero Mission and Hunters anyway...

Yeah, play them in order. It will give you a better perspective in the evolution of the series. I don't know your opinion, but Prime 3 and Hunters aren't much better than Other M. I would skip these also xd

Many people start with Super Metroid, and when they go back to Metroid 1/2 they find these too different. And they are. It's exactly the same case with Z1 and ALTTP. There isn't a sequence order in the first Metroid, and that's why it stand out. Atmosphere, music and layout are perfect in my book (from an open world perspective). And the sense of power when you get the Screw attack and blast through the enemies is unparalleled.

... :heh:

I haven't played Hunters, but I've played Prime 3 once, and I thought it was really good, though nowhere near as good as the first two Prime games. Splitting up the areas into other worlds made the game flow less smoothly to me, and—while there were some genuinely cool moments, areas, and items—everything did feel laid out pretty straightforwardly. I still thought it was highly enjoyable, but didn't feel as solid as the first two games.

I hate the storytelling in Prime 3, and the lore (scanning) lost all the magic. And the worlds don't feel cohesive as before, though Elysia was interesting. And yeah, it was a decent distraction in the first play if you pass the flaws.

It's also to destroy the spikes it launches from it's back so it doesn't shoot them and block either the cannon or the hunting gong, as well as breaking it's horn. However there are still several spots where you can do injury to it when on it's back, or on the fins where you can do damage on it's sides.

Man, I can't believe I missed this game for so many years! I was nearly in tears playing this, and with a stupid smile in my face. What a crazy effort!

Unforgettable, I think I have to do another run for a better time ^.^

I just unlocked the Rainbow Armor pigment for MH4U. Which means, I have completed every single low rank quest and low rank urgent quest. That last fight though... A fully charged (turns to Frenzied) Zinogre and a Furious Ragang at the same time, followed by a Shagaru Magala in a single mission with NO supplies in the supply box... It was intense, to say the least. Shaggy was, luckily, the easiest part of the mission (I can solo him in the online missions no problem due to alot of practice)

Now I just have to find people who are willing to do some G2 gathering hall missions so I can unlock the rest of the wystones...plus get some more Apex monsters unlocked so I can get more honing done!

It's annoying that so much has to be done online in order to unlock certain things. Mostly because you have to rely on others to first be willing to do the missions needed, and second to be good enough to not die half way through or straight out bail on you! Atleast the missions needed are mostly easy. I might even try soloing the one Shrouded Nercyllia mission, though I hope it's no where as hard as the Tigerstripe Zamtrios was... that thing was a hard hitting nightmare.

So far, my romhacking run:

Extra Mario Bros (Super Mario Bros) 5/5
Super Mario Bros 3 Mix (Super Mario Bros 3) 3/5
Rockman no Constancy (Rockman 2) 4/5
The Legend of Zelda: Outlands (The Legend of Zelda) 4/5
Super Mario Unlimited (Super Mario Bros) 4/5
Castlevania: Chorus of Mysteries (Castlevania) 4/5
Mario Adventure (Super Mario Bros 3) 3/5

Rockman 4 Minus Infinity (Rockman 4) 5/5

Metroid Super Zero Mission (Super Metroid) 5/5

Super Metroid Eris (Super Metroid) 4/5 (Heart says 5/5)

Really happy with the rom hacks that I picked lately... but I don't know where to go now... mmmm. Any suggestions of worthy rom hacks? Maybe I can try The Legend of Link, but I think it won't be my cup of tea.

How good is Parallel Worlds? I started that one in the past and I never get too far..

I don't know if it's me, but I found japanese rom hacks being usually vastly better than the western ones...

ROM hacks that I would recommend would be...

Second Reality Project: Reloaded (Hack of Super Mario World)

Parallel Remodel (Hack of Link to the Past)

Sonic MegaMix (Hack of Sonic the Hedgehog)

"Amy In" Series (Hacks of Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and S3+K)

Super Mario Star Road (Hack of Super Mario 64)

Crimson Echoes (Hack of Chrono Trigger)

Return of the Dark Sorcerer (Hack of Final Fantasy III *FF6 - US Edition*)

The Amy ones are basically just playing through the normal game, but as Amy. They aren't just sprite edits, though. Amy controls completely different, and it makes the same levels feel much different. For one thing, jumping into or onto enemies will not work and will just cause you to lose Rings, you will actually have to hit a button to pull out her hammer and deal damage.
