I'm about 1/3 done with one of the strangest dungeons created in Zelda Classic history. This is my Lens of Truth level. You can choose to go the correct path, but if you decide to go into the chaos, there are many treasures to be found. Well ... just many heart container pieces.

Changed the default Koten Red Ring color and as per suggestion have restored rings changing Link's color:

Also decided to test the better balanced Death Knight. With the Red Ring, contact is now only 1 heart and his swords do 1 1/2 hearts. HP is still 60. In other news, I got rid of the Bone Club and now you start with the Wooden Sword again. #SplinterStickFTW

 

EDIT: The red pixels on Link's face make me think of him having blush stickers.

I have worked almost all day for ZC during my holidays. The final rebalance patch internal build is now finished for Remastered 1, 2 and 3 ... Mini 1 and 2 are in the works now, and then eventually Maxi which will surely take a week, given the other quests took more or less a full day.

i think i want to make one of my things with 3 people, even if it means drudgery. who wants to make my likelike one with me? i forgot what i stoped for besides scripts not installing, outlineing tiles in black, wanting more cutscenes and something was not working and i'm so heartbroken

I didn't think the beach looked very beach-like; so, I sprited some new water tiles and changed the ground tiles.

It's got a ways to go, but I think it looks much better.

Took a break from the beach area to start designing the castle. I have a basic layout done.

pLBnsDu.pngneeds a little work, still, but it gives me a good reference point to work off of.

Finally figured out (thanks Saffith) how to compile scripts on Mac after all this time!!!  :bounce:

(previously I just used Windows to do it)

Made some headway on the castle

Still have a ways to go, on it, but it's starting to come along, and you can start to see how it will eventually connect to the rest of the map

Man Binx, that is some beautiful screen design! So colorful and detailed. For being a Classic-based set, Koten really looks beautiful when used properly.

 

EDIT: Added remote bombs to AQR. Not sure if selling them as an optional upgrade is a good idea, but hey, seems like a good Rupee sink considering I fail at Rupee Economy. I mean Eddy had like 500-600 at the end of the Expo with everything bought and Lejes 400+ Rupees under the same conditions. Either way, the Remote Bombs aren't any stronger; they're just that; you can set them off when you please. To avoid confusing them with normal ones, they're gray instead of blue.

Well, using it well is about half of it. The other half is that I changed the palettes, and that I cheated. A lot. The south and east facing walls of the castle are 8-bit (because I needed colors from multiple CSets) and the south facing mountains use colors from multiple ramps. It's fine, for my current quest, but I'll probably have to do major palette work, in order to release the generic set to the public

Ok, quick update before I crash.

I finished up the northwest corner, and the castle, and have started linking the completed areas together Beyond that, just some detailing, and the last little area (an island in the southeast corner), and the southern half of the overworld will be completed!

A) I like the screen a lot.

B) I finished it yesterday, posted it in an update on the quest project. Dunno if you saw, but since you've been so complimentary, thought I'd let you know. 

But then I realized that I left all my character sprite work half-finished, and now I have to take a break from scripting their weapons to work on that.
