I'm kind of swamped at the moment. The Sonic Hacking Contest is going on, so I've got about a dozen of those to play. Distorted Travesty 3 came out something like a week ago, and I've started on it. I've also been playing Earthbound and just got back into Bravely Default. (Black Mage: Brave x4, 3 magic spells and 1 auto-Aspir attack seems like it's going to break the game.) That's not even counting all the Steam games I've got that I need to get back to.

I started playing Kirby's Return to Dreamland for the Wii. I'm only on world 2, but it's pretty nice so far.

As I said in the Castlevania thread, I'm currently trying to redeem myself, and beat Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse for the first time without using save states. (I'm playing on my 3DS) I'm REALLY tempted to use one at the bottom of the grand staircase to make it more like the original Castlevania, but I'm determined to play it exactly how it was meant to be played back in the 80's... I've been stuck on the final stage all day...
Also, I'm not playing them right now, but I recently beat Sonic 2 as well as Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I still love these classic Sonic games, but they can be very cheap, almost to a point where it seems as if a child designed some of these levels... Mostly in Sonic 2, though. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is much better, and is probably the best Sonic game out there.

I started up the South Park: The Stick of Truth game. It's on sale on Steam for $7.50 at the moment, and it's been on my wishlist. I know this is a year and a half or so late for picking it up, but meh. I remember when it was $59.99.
Despite the WASD movement controls being completely unchangeable, it's a pretty fantastic game. Everything feels like it operates on a small scale. Money operates by cents instead of by the thousands, as per most RPGs, and prices definitely reflect it. It has an absolute ton of crude humor, as it would be expected in a South Park game, but it's tolerable as it's all used effectively in-game. The combat feels difficult but satisfying. Even on the easiest difficulty the enemies hit pretty hard, but I'm surviving. (I don't play it for a challenge; I play it for the story.)
It's really a lot of fun to walk around inside the world of the actual show. It all feels very true to the show, yes.
... I think I'll be fine, as long as I don't fart on anyone's balls.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow's Alucard Julius Mode. It's pretty fun to run through as the trio, though I mostly use Alucard seeing as I love Symphony of the Night, even though he's nowhere near as versatile and powerful here, and honestly that's fair; he's downright broken in SotN. Yoko is very useful as well when you're low on health to grind health off of weaker enemies. And of course, Julius packs all the best subweapons, and who doesn't love the whip? I just wish it kept more than the leveling system, because some of the castle exploration feels a bit pointless without some substantial rewards to use later on.
When I'm done with this, I'll probably dive back into SotN to make sure I can collect every single item in the game.
I'm also playing Super Mario Bros. 3, a game I've never actually beaten surprisingly. I've played it before, but mostly as a kid, and never got past the third world I think. Combination of it being tough for little me and also because I owned Super Mario World and I much preferred that game.

Yeah, that's the problem with extra modes in Castleroids, it's not the same without rewards and depth customization :S
SMB3 is the best Nintendo game of all time. I always play the jap version, it's the original and it's better balanced (Mario go to small Mario in one hit). The western versions defeated the purpose of the items. But I suppose that you will like the nerfed difficulty =P
I always found SMW a tad overrated, it's a step back in powerups, maps, difficulty and level design. Too much focused in secret exits, which is fun just the first time. SMB3 is pure perfection and it has more memorable secrets than any Mario game.

Ahh, i do like the secret mushroom houses and the coinship! Though damn they where hard to accomplish to get from what I remember!
Anyways, i finally unlocked and created the Zelda gear in MH4U, and it is very decent... expensive to get it worth using in how far in the game I am (needed to use almost all of the armor sphere's I've been hoarding, then had to go farming some more of the higher end ones and use up my armor stones!) but it will be worth it! I'll mostly be using it in the online portion I think due to how versitile the defenses are (+10 against all elements) so I won't have to worry too much about elemental attacks from the mosters people choose. I still have my Golden Lune armor as my go-to for offline or more difficult quests (Divine Blessing, Mind's Eye and Part Breaker, along with Great Luck and Heat Cancel for the skills). I still need to get more armor spheres to try and max out the defense on it, or boost it high enough to take on some G-Rank Rathalos and Rathians... and their various sub-species... which does not sound fun to me.
For the main playthrough, I've pretty much have all the low rank quests completed. I only have the last of the 6* quests to do, though I don't think there's that much left of them. I just have to unlock the one's that are left to be completed. Why am I bothering doing all of them? Not to be a completionist, but to unlock the rainbow pigmant for the armor! Afterwhich I will be finishing the 9* quests to get to G-Rank Explorations. I just really don't want to go against a Frenzied Deviljho. The frenzied Brachydios was tough enough! However... now I have a chaotic gore weapon, access to wystones and high dragon-res armor...it may not go as bad as I fear.
I started today practicing with the Long Sword in the game. I don't usually use the larger weapons (charge blade excluded), but after being able to practice and not get my ass kicked by a large monster at the same time, I think I'll be able to get good with it. I'll probably redo some of the low rank quests to see how well I can get with it, but It'll be nice to have some more variety in my arsonal, especially against the truly giant monsters that I can't usually get good hits on.

Mario 3? The 2 Warp whistles in the first World .. !>_<! i laugh everytime about those game spoilers, because i use 1 just to skip to Warpzone then the second inside the warp-zone to skip to World-8 ever since was a kid.
Don't spoil and search for those if you don't want to know. Suffer and beat the whole game then look online for where to find them after.
Then i will tell you about another game.
I have been playing this one recently but always get stuck trying to find all the Keys just to get to world 8.
I like this one alot, everyone should absolutely try it.

I finished Mario Adventure two weeks ago. It was a good hack with an interesting spin with the powerups and day/night system. But it suffers by bland design at times, and be prepared for a big dissapointment with world 8 >.< I appreciated the extra challenge, but the puzzles are meh. I think that Bros 3 mix (another hack) is more solid, though this one suffers by lack of challenge and 50% of the game feels like a dejavu..

iirc the only coin ship that is remotely hard to unlock, is the one in World 2 as it requires a little bit of precision to accomplish the requirement to make it spawn.

I know where to find the warp whistles early on, those were no big secret especially as a child. I just don't want to use them; in fact I've accidentally used the whistle twice and had to restart, it got to the point I started using the Wii U's save states after every level to make sure I don't accidentally warp again. Fortunately I haven't had to use them for anything other than picking up where I left off.

There's actually 3 warp wistles, if I remember correctly. 2 in the first world (mid-level castle and another in the third level), and one in the desert world where you break the rock at the far edge of the map, revealing a fire-bro and a mushroom house (the fire bro holds the whistle, but is a bastard if you go in unprepared)

Welp. Just beat Castlevania III. I screamed so loud in celebration, I'm sure the whole neighborhood could hear me.
I can now die happily
