Kinda sucks, but I was questioning exactly what they could do with that.

In other, though similar news, Mane6's Fighting is Magic was killed off by Hasbro. There are already petitions in place to restore it, and Lauren Faust herself has offered to generate for them some completely new characters to work with.

Most people know of Square Enix and their tendency to shut down as many fan projects as they can under copyright grounds. There have been countless petitions to revive projects, and the fact of the matter is, it often tends to not work because, no matter how many people are against the shut down of a project, it's ultimately the holder's decision to let them continue or not. If they don't want to see it continue, they don't want to see it continue, and, regardless of the number or content of the signatures, they aren't going to continue.
Obviously I'm not the most unbiased example, because this is a forum where people post their Zelda fangames, but I hate seeing a fan work being shut down. When a fan pours their effort into something and takes the time to perfect it, to share what is essentially a love letter of what said person loves about the franchise, cancelling a project like that, which was made out of love for the holder's product and not intended to threaten said product or attack profit, just feels like getting slapped in the face by one of your biggest role models because you said you loved their work.
Even though I wasn't so much a fan of the game itself, that's why I love and admire Capcom due to the fact that, instead of cancelling a Megaman fangame that qualified in every part for being shut down via copyright infringement, they actually took the time to promote it and show it to the world. Regardless of opinion over the game itself, that's a company with a good heart.

For the record, I'm not a legal expert. I don't know if any of this is legit. But I'm willing to buy it if it keeps the fandom from committing mass exodus for the time being.
