Wave 1 of testers finished testing the True Final Boss of my new quest and reactions were extremely good. Only a little bit more to do!

I got into a quest design funk, I got out of a quest design funk. I didn't make much actual ZQuest progress, but just the feeling of getting some amount of motivation back feels like a weight off my back.

Also in the non-ZQuest department I beat Stan twice and Sanic once. :P

hohoho want to adopt one of mine and we finish together? XD

i had a lot more things recolored in likelike revenge to make it "fun" to start from scratch. i had imported the one colorset but not sure if i am happy with, if i can just make everything 8 bit color mode.

it's just my strings and combos are a mess.

i want to recolor one of those tilesets with 8 bit mode. and maybe using one that i made, palet.  anyone want to adopt a palet?

i just open a thing to look a sorrowfuly and recorded it with an intent of recruiting https://youtu.be/FJ8akeRQEpM

Finally got around to making more than a couple of tiles for a side scroll tileset.

I had fun redesigning every tile from almost scratch up, these are better in comparison to my previous versions.

Oh, you too?

I've been doing my own update/expansion of classic over the last few weeks as well.

What kind of work are you doing?

So far I've revamped the colors on trees, armos statues, rocks, etc. I haven't actually changed any sprites... yet.

Oh, mostly editing the palettes? Or are you actually recoloring the tiles?

I've been planning on expanding some of the default palettes (and getting rid of their neon twinges as well), which will require some mass recoloring to get things back to normal.

For now, I'm just making absurd expansions to the tiles themselves. A lot of it was making combos of the tiles that already exist in the default tileset, but for whatever reason, weren't used. Then I've been doing a good number of imports of other tiles that match the classic style, particularly dungeon tiles as of late. Default didn't have enough structural variety, so I imported Lightwulf's diagonal walls. Decent start, but still not enough, so I imported his first-tier-down tiles. Better, but still not enough, so I made my own second-tier-down tiles. Now I'm happy.

I'm editing palettes AND recoloring tiles. When I'm done editing everything (which will take a while), I'll probably make a simple dungeon romper with it.

Imported Battle of Olympus SFX and practiced some speedrunning techniques. Not really sure how feasible it would be unless for speedrunning purposes I allowed flagrant F6 abuse. For that kind of a run, my life bar means nothing if I can just F6 at the destination. Also I'd need to get good at managing playing with limited resources. My guess is I could get an any% run with F6 abuse in around 40 minutes. If I instead opted for no F6 abuse, I would do the next best thing; kill myself on purpose. But with F6'ing around, I doubt that's a problem. Unless of course that bug comes up where it doesn't respond to the keyboard randomly, which is something that still hasn't been fixed, probably due to nobody knowing how to reproduce said bug. I still feel I do better with a keyboard than a controller (a Logitech controller that looks like a PS2/PS3 controller but has button mapping similar to the Xbox360/XboxOne's controller). This is coming from the guy that plays emus cross-armed. The ASDF keys are used with my right hand while the left hand controls the arrow keys, my right hand overlapping the left arm.

Also one thing I was practicing was the art of slaying a Leever 3 with nothing but a dinky Wooden Sword and slash at the start of the game. Pretty easy with good timing, hell otherwise. Honestly, Leever 3s are easier to kill with stab or a Red Candle; it's fun watching them run into the flames over and over like idiots.

One last thing; I pressed "I" randomly in ZQuest and it crashed. Guessing another Windows 10 problem? If I go to the menu's item editor, it's fine.

EDIT: Really dumb question, but does the quest's clock count while on the continue / save / retry screen? Also, how should a speedrun be measured? By the in-game timer or real time? Because I can easily see the two being out of sync.

one of the first things i wanted to work on. it's got a water level with annoying flooding. so you know you want to colaborate. you know who you are.

https://www.dropbox....better.qst?dl=0why? is it the sounds? i just deleted some and it went down to 4.66 megs from 28 megs.

 Omfg yes.

Made some progress with non-scripted multiple bottles. I know how to do it, but this effort is killing me.
