NOOOOOOOOOOOO! something so easy and i didn't see it! ah well, needn't have bought that key on volcano island. Anyway, i'm in level 9 now (and paid a visit to the master dome). From what it seems there's a lot of keys in level 9 - at least 10 missing. That master key could sure be useful now... Still, i'm not going to cheat any more. Just one more question : where can you get red potions (without beating the master dome) ?

WOW! Just finished the quest. Beat up ganon and rescued the princess, got that master dome item, and the very expensive reward, even found the fire boomerang and golden arrow (the fire boomerang was very helpful in trashing that #insert very rude word here# where the golden arrow is). So all that remains now is to say : thank you dfw, an excellent quest and i really enjoyed playing it!

ps. i made some notes while navigating the dungeons etc. not quite a walkthrough but if anyone is interested i could post them.

I'd like to read them, just to see your thought patterns when exploring my works. icon_smile.gif
Also, now that you've beaten the quest, have you acquired all HC pieces, all bomb upgrades, all magic upgrades, all items, all underwater rupee locations, all 5 200 rupee pieces, etc. There is a lot more stuff hidden in Isle of the Winds! LOL

Okay, I need some real help here. I have searched all over level 9, and I practically know the dungeon like the back of my hand, but I am missing one key. Since the dungeons are all in the formations of their zodiac symbol, I reference my predicament via the area I can't reach by that: Virgo is shaped roughly like an M, and there are two rooms, which I am unable to even access, that lie in the middle vertical column close to the bottom. A shutter makes the two rooms inaccessible from the south, and the room just above the them holds an aisleway that is inaccessible because of the lava pits on either side. Thus I decided that their must be some sort of staircase that I have missed, but I have searched EVERYWHERE, Lens-of-truthing every inch, and I still remain at a loss. I would really appreciate a hint, otherwise, I'll just nab the Magic Key once I find 950 rupees just lying around. icon_sorry.gif

You come up from the south. Travel along the south set of rooms heading to the west until you hit a room with a shutter north and some dodongos. Push a block there to open the shutter and begin the multiple room path to your final mini-boss battle and key.

Well, i know this is probably the bizillionth time you've heard this, but this quest was absolutely spectacular. Honestly, its quests like this that should be made into official zelda games. I loved everything about it: the zodiac symbols for dungeons, the variety of puzzles, traps, enemies, and themes for each island, and the idea of using islands as grounds for an overworld. I didn't manage to get everything in the games, like all the bomb upgrades, rupee caches, and the golden arrow. But it was really unnecessary. The only thing I despise about almost everything ZC game I've played is that Ganon is way too WEAK! With all the upgrades, potions, swords, and whatnot, the last battle is a cakewalk compared to all the work you go through just to get there. Only Link's Birthday had a custom boss worthy of a challenging ending. But besides that, this quest kicked ass.

I'm now going to play Hidden Duality, which, like Isle of the Winds, locked up on me back in the summer when I used ZC 2.10 to play them and got stuck in a wall cuz of that flaming continue bug. Oh well, in all honesty, version 1.92 beta 184 is better anyways. You only lose one special asset and that's the ability to speed up the game by pressing F1.

All I can remember is that HD:XM was a quest that seemed specifically designed to kick my ass; I spent well over 30 hours just trying to beat the first 4 levels. I'm looking forward to it.

By the way, so I can be on the lookout for it, when and what is your next quest to be released?

my suggestion is to try Hidden Duality: Director's Cut. It isn't as hard as Xtreme version but is a bit more difficult than the original version and it simply has MORE bonuses and extras than either version combined. So the Director's Cut is the definitive version to play.
My next quest will be Lost Isle which I am co-working with Petoe on and you can get all the information about it here: http://www.purezc.co...showtopic=17163
And on top of that, I have a secret pet project that I'll be releasing with Lost Isle as a bonus. So that should be fun.

Oh, Lost Isle will be her final project, unfortunately. DFW is just gonna release a pet project of her's with Lost Isle I believe... so... umm... I don't know if I'm allowed to say more as this was supposed to be a secret but appartently not... icon_razz.gif

But anyhoo, both me and DFW want LI to be so good that she can "leave ZC with a bang" so fans of Wolfie (and everyone else too of course!) can definitely put the quest on their "gotta play" list. icon_wink.gif

Well, I finally finished this quest. Whew! I died 582 times and it took me 83 hours, 11 minutes, and 45 seconds. Needless to say, I'm not an expert at Zelda (the only quest I've ever completed without dying was the first quest in the original Zelda.) This is an awsome and captivating quest - the toughest of the ones I've finished ( I've given up on a few.) This help forum was a tremendous help, and I would have been lost without it. I didn't learn about the need for extra keys until after I had finished several levels and had to go back looking for keys. I had to buy one 500 Rupe key and the 900+ one at the end to finally get to Ganon ( I was 2 short at the end.) The key thing was a royal pain in the arse, but overall a quest masterpiece.

My best suggestion: get the swim fins and find the fire boomerang - it really helps a bunch. Also take advantae of the whirlpool warps - they are really handy.

Where is level 2? I think it's on Swamp Island, which is where I am now, and I found a big Triforce mark on the ground but no dungeon.

Level 2 is on the FOrest Island. Swamp Island is Level 4.

Oh and before going into any dungeons make sure you have a Super Bomb. They're needed for every dungeon save for Level 1 and 9 (I think...)

yes, those big rocks must be blown by super bombs to proceed onward. But if you want to tackle level 4 before level 2, by ALL MEANS, do so. I gave you the freedom to do levels 2-7 in ANY order. So do what pleases you most.
