I think this more or less confirms that there will be at least 30 characters. Should be interesting, with 24 already confirmed. We could expect quite a few reveals before the projected release date of 2014.

I think 30 is a really conservative estimate. I'm not one of those who expects a billion characters, but many characters in Brawl shared final smashes. I'd guess 45 characters to be a reasonable estimate, but some expect closer to 50.

Kinda' surprising a character only found in a magazine made it.  Buuuut, the magazine is completely 100% Nintendo, sooooo...  Meh. Fine with me!

 

Looks a little weird in some of the shots, though.  I guess that may be because I've never seen Nester in 3D before.

Is it bad I wish Nester was going to be an actual addition? I know it was a good April Fools joke but I'd be totally okay with him being a real fighter.

 

Anyways, apparently there'll be a Direct focusing on Smash Bros. soon. Looking forward to that.

I agree! Nester would totally fill the "Mr. Game & Watch" and "R.O.B." niches in being an unexpected old-school character. He would be a neat addition.

Also, I'm psyched for the Nintendo Direct. Big things tend to happen during those.

Nintendo directs mean newcomer reveals, but I'm more concerned with returning veterans. I'd be really surprised if there were a newcomer I could really get excited for. I mean, the Great Sakurai already gave us the gift of Mega Man.

 

Still, I'm excited for the direct.

-Customizable characters for the 3DS
-Bowser Junior
- A good bit of fighting footage
- Some crazy new thing

And lots of bowing and boring white backgrounds.
