I set up a show called "Magical DoReMi" on the Wii for my little siblings to watch. Just a couple minutes ago, I was in the kitchen and could have sworn I heard Dr. Eggman, but didn't recognize the dialog. Turns out, the voice for Santa Claus is identical to the good doctor himself. Rather jarring, to be honest...

Completed Log Horizon. Quite enjoyed it, though something didn't sit right about the ending, and I don't mean that it was a cliffhanger. I just felt like there were some details lacking in a scene toward the end, and not in the "we'll fill these in during season two" sense. Not sure how to explain it. Otherwise I quite enjoyed it, it was very immersive with how they detailed the world and its workings, and the characters were really well-done for the most part. Everything was developed nicely, the action was good when it was there, and overall it was interesting and exactly what I would want from a show about people trapped in an MMO. Now just to wait for season two... I wonder how many seasons this show will have, I hope it doesn't go on for a ridiculous amount of time.
Also, the Attack on Titan dub is being released. I don't really have high hopes for it. For the most part the acting was solid, but there were some things that were renamed that were odd ("3D maneuver gear" to "omnidirectional mobility gear," "Survey Corps" to "Scouting Regiment"), and why the hell could no one pronounce Mikasa's name right? I also wasn't fond of some of the dialogue changes, and how they seem to be revising Armin and Mikasa's character. I'm also not fond of Bryce Papenbrook in general so I'm not looking forward to more dub Eren. We'll see how it unfolds though, I mean I'm no dub-hater but this is rubbing me the wrong way so far.
Alas, though, I find myself without something to watch. I'll look into some things but I might be better off taking a break for a little bit. ![]()

So much for that break.
I'd remembered shortly after I posted that I wanted to watch WataMote to see what it was about. I finished it, but it's a... very mixed bag. I often found myself bored, and not because of the story and characters, but I'm just not cut out for the slice-of-life style anime, with few exceptions. Including Nichijou. Nichijou is kind of in a class of its own though.
The art was nice, the characters were fleshed out, and by the end I actually did find myself really caring for Tomoko, even if I didn't really care for the rest of the show. It was probably the saturation of sexual humor, which I don't mind in moderation but it kind of got on my nerves here. I actually think I would've stopped after episode three if this series went longer than twelve episodes, but finished it just because it wasn't very long at all. I don't say I regret watching it, but I don't feel I would have missed anything if I never did see it. I'll just make a note not to watch any slice-of-life shows again, even if this one had a different sort of outlook than most of them. If you want a better comparison I hated Lucky Star and that's like the king of slice-of-life shows so there's another reason not to watch anymore. ![]()
Gunbuster and Diebuster are on the list, mostly to continue my "watch more Gainax anime" kick. I don't expect too much out of them, they're well-received but Gunbuster's age can definitely be a factor in its enjoyability. Still, hope to have fun with it.

Finished Gunbuster the other day. Decent show, I found it enjoyable, even if it succumbed to what I guess weren't cliches back when it was made, so I'm being a little lenient on it. Honestly, I'd describe it as the perfect show for experiencing what a stereotypical mecha anime is like without having to last through tons of episodes and filler-filled seasons, as Gunbuster is only six episodes. Of course, not having really seen any mecha anime, I couldn't say that without certainty, just impressions, but Jubbz agreed with my assessment, so good enough! I can also definitely see where Gurren Lagann got some of its influence from, and I actually enjoyed the development of the main character Noriko, and that damn ending, wow, talk about feels. But yeah, if you want to experience a mecha anime without all the filler and length, try it out, though I'd warn you ahead of time that it has a couple of uncensored topless scenes, if that kind of thing bugs you.
Also, I too am following the Attack on Titan dub. Actually, the first thirteen episodes somehow got leaked, so I'm a little ahead. Haven't seen them all, and honestly it's a fairly well-done dub even if there are a couple of eyebrow-raising decisions, mostly in regards to some renamings and pronunciation butchering (WHY CAN NO ONE PRONOUNCE MIKASA PROPERLY?!), but I really wish they'd have cast someone else for Armin and Eren, or even just one of the two. Armin just sounds too goofy and generic, while Eren... is Bryce Papenbrook. Papenbrook is a horrible actor and while I remember him being decent at best as Red in Pokemon Origins, I already thought he sucked in Sword Art Online, so the announcement alone that he was going to be Eren was a disappointment. He's like a really, really poor man's Yuri Lowenthal. ... can you guess who I was really hoping would land the role? Don't tell me that wouldn't have been awesome. Because it would have been.
But yeah, so far more or less good dub with bad main character and occasionally baffling pronunciations.

I'm actually really disappointed by Attack on Titan. I even checked out the manga. It seems the only things I find interesting are the titans themselves. I hate the characters, the art style, and the story. For some reason I really like Blue Exorcist. Normally, it would be the other way around considering that I really like horror and Attack on Titan is rather horrific. Speaking of Adult Swim / Toonami, they really need to stop trying to force us to watch a crappy CG Batman show. They also need to stop trying to force us to watch crap like Symbionic Titan.

Wolf's Rain. It's got to be one of the most melancholy animations I've seen.

Wolf's Rain is another classic. It aired on [as], and well, to be honest, It damn near didn't make sense at times.
To be fair, it's been too damn long since I watched it, so there's that. And I'm a little biased against BONES animu having asspull fucktarded endings.
Wolf's Rain is a BONES production.

I Can agree with TS on the subject of Attack on Titan (Dub version) Its a pretty good dub thats for sure. But I just don't like the voice actors for Armin and Eren...
And the fact that no one can say Mikasa right kinda erks me. But I'm still enjoying it... albeit not as much as the original Japanese version.
I've been thinking about checking out Wolf's Rain. It seems interesting, and also I'm looking to watch some other shows. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations?
I'll give anything a chance so it doesn't have to anything specific.

Still watching One Piece. I'm on episode 300 or so now. All of CP9, save for the guy Luffy fights, have been defeated, and Luffy just activated Gear Second. It seems a bit odd that the pacing for the show has Luffy learn Gear Second and Gear Third at the same time, although Third hasn't technically made an on-screen appearance yet. I mean, if Gear Third is so much more powerful than Gear Second, won't all the future fights that are supposed to be "high stakes" just make Gear Second next to useless and Luffy will constantly be favoring Gear Third?
Also, since I'm usually watching several episodes at a time, I spent about an hour to an hour and a half crying when it got to Robin's backstory. That's just so god-damn sad...

The dub cast for Kill la Kill will be announced tonight, here's a link to where the live stream will take place: https://www.youtube....h?v=hoXVVWzI3_8
I'm pretty hopeful, but the voices that concern me the most are Mako's, Nui's, Nonon's, and Ragyo's. The first two due to their higher-pitched moe-style voics, which tend to be difficult to dub, at least from what I've seen. Nonon's because her voice was... unique, and trying to replicate that in the dub will be difficult; we probably won't end up with any memorable lines like "NANI SORE?!" in the original. And Ragyo just because she's Romi Park, whose voice is magical and pretty much anyone else they pick, no matter how good they are, will pale by comparison. Still, I have high hopes for the dub, now let's just see who they come up with... and also I'm glad Funimation has nothing to do with it.
I've also decided I'm going to watch FLCL again, only dubbed this time, mostly for comparison and just because it's been long enough I can justify watching it again. I still have Diebuster on deck, but I've been thinking about FLCL a lot lately and figure it's worth seeing again.
Continuing to watch more Attack on Dub. Armin's voice is indefensible. The actor sounds like he's trying too hard to sound young and meek and fit Armin's image more. Yeah he sounded like a girl in the original Japanese sometimes, but it still fit better, I think. Also it gave us plenty of beautiful jokes about people mistaking his gender based on his voice and appearance. ![]()

I just re watched Pokemon season 1 for the one billionth time already, and it never gets old. ![]()
I mostly like animes that are based off video games, but unfortunately, there are few.
But today I managed to find one and started watching it. It's called Touhou Project. It's great and I'm pretty sure that most of the people here already knew about this, so I guess I'm a little behind when it comes to watching anime isn't it.

Picked up two shows to watch, (Gurren Lagann, and Persona 4: The animation). I'll start with Gurren Lagann tonight.
