No, you get shiny stars if Super Guide doesn't pop up.

There's a difference? I thought they were both the same.

Nope. Only for avoiding Super Guide.

On a side note, I wish the hint movies didn't exist. They take away from the fun of Mario, which is "finding everything yourself without help." icon_unsettled.gif

Agreed there.

On that note, I beat that and have all the star coins up through like 2-2.

Just aced the Elite Four + Champion for the first time in Pokemon Diamond with a severely under leveled team. At the end of the five battles, my team was:
Lv. 45 Lucario (EV maxed ATK+SPD)
Lv. 51 Gengar
Lv. 52 Luxray
Lv. 52 Staraptor
Lv. 53 Empoleon
Lv. 56 Azelf (EV maxed SPC.ATK+SPD)
For comparison, the lowest leveled Pokemon in the entire string was Lv. 53. So I feel pretty good. icon_biggrin.gif I always try to beat the Elite Four with as low a level as possible, but this is definitely the lowest (by comparison) that I've gone. Azelf was by far the biggest contributor here, but Lucario and Gengar were definitely huge helps as well.

That's pretty good. But I beat the Elite Four and Champion in Emerald with my entire team at level 40. Try beating that. icon_razz.gif

I finally finished Minish Cap with 100% and got to Lucifer on Zealot (Normal) difficulty in Dante's Inferno. For info, normal difficulty in this game is like hell.

Finally, I got 100% on Jak and Daxter. Every single Precursor Orb and Power Cell. Every. Last. One. And then on top of that, I beat the last boss without getting hit. I think it's safe to say I know everything there is to know about the game now.

Man, I bet that was tough! I had a rough time of it as well in Platinum (though, not as tough as yours', considering Platinum's Elite Four was dumbed down a few levels)... but I had set up my level 48 Gallade perfectly (got in 3 Swords Dances and a couple speed boosts), and pretty much sweeped Cynthia's whole team in one move!

But I bet Cynthia was some kinda crazy for you! She has, like, level 63s in D/P, right? I very highly commend you! I dunno if I could'a done it!

Bought a Genesis and Sonic 2, and started playing it; first time playing it I got nearly halfway through (I died in Act 2 of Mystic Cave), which is impressive for me because until now I've been playing using save states (Sonic Mega Collection Plus), so to get this far with no saves is a major accomplishment for me. I'm going to keep playing it and get good at playing long runs from the start deep into the game.

Just popping in to say that, through the abuse of buffs and the wondrous benefits of an evasion stat around 6-99% for all my characters, I completely trivialized the FF2 portion of FF 1 & 2: Dawn of Souls. Let's just say that Hell Emperor was about as big a joke as his Cyclonic counterpart, at least for me.
Soul of Rebirth, though... glad the roles are far more defined in this mode, but already going through the Unknown Cave I've got many a Glasaya Labolas-inflicted Game Over. At least I'm at the town, ready to venture up and snag a Flare Tome for Scott from the waterfall salesman.

Nearly beat Metropolis Zone on my Genesis version of Sonic 2. It's the farthest I've ever been into the game on a single run (I'd been using save files on Sonic Mega Collection Plus), so I'm pretty proud. Had I beaten the Metropolis boss I would have been THIS CLOSE to beating the game...but for christ's sake, Sega, WHY did you have to put THREE ACTS into Metropolis Zone? When I beat act 2 I was expecting sky chase zone, and then suddenly, it's act THREE? WHAT THE HELL?

Holy crap! I didn't think it was possible, but somehow, I perfect runned Ballos, the final, final boss of Cave Story. That's right, I beat him without getting hit! I hadn't even beaten him before; I was just trying to beat the game. And somehow, wow. I feel good right now.

Just beat Brutal Legend. Working up to 100%, but still nowhere close. Now to tackle hard mode.
