Been playing more WWHD. Already at 4 heart containers, got everything I can done at Windfall, and I'm about to head to the Dragon Roost Cavern. That one minigame with the squids at Windfall is still annoying as ever, but I got through it eventually. Also, is it me, or has the starting max rupee count been increased? I remember it being only at 200 in the GC edition, whereas here I made it to 300+.

Either way, still enjoying the hell out this game, just like in the good old GC days.

Working on The 7th Saga now. This game is notorious for its unforgiving difficulty (notice that GameFAQs reference I did here?), so (as much as everyone dislikes it) it will require level grinding*.

Bring it, I say. :sly:

Got the Platinum trophy in The Order 1886. I immediately traded that and Shadow of Mordor in for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for PS4. I have Borderlands 2 for PC, but I prefer playing Borderlands on consoles. Plus, I haven't played the Pre-Sequel yet.

Started playing Steins;Gate on Vita! So far, the plot is completely spot on with the anime. I didn't see an big differences yet. They do explain the meaning of Mayuri's "tuturu" greeting.

I used Lux on the first run.

Spoiler

The Japanese version of 7th Saga, known as Elnard, is actually easier. Yet, for some reason, Enix decided to make the localized version harder! How hard?

In comparison, the enemies in 7th Saga were given much higher stats, and the player character's stat increases were reduced (the other playable characters retain the original stat increases, so they will always surpass the player character's level).
Thankfully, a hack for the game made by James Skarzinskas retains Elnard's difficulty balance.

I'm playing Danganronpa: Another Episode Ultra Despair Girls. So far, the production value is far better than Danganronpa and Danganronpa 2. Probably because this game is built from the ground up for the Vita. It's a pretty good third person shooter so far. The weapon system kinda feels like Metroid for you have different types of "beam" attacks.

I'm really liking it so far.

I've been playing Monster Hunter 4, and it is quite a fun game! I'm playing on the 3DS XL (not the new one) and it still plays excellently! Though if you use the bow, it'll be hard if you don't have the second joystick due to the aiming... Also, should say I'm still quite early in the game...

Anyways, I was happy to see they had the Insectcutters dual blades, until I saw they took away the Dragon element boost :/ They are one of my favorite weapons from MH3, and they nerfed out the Elemental attack from it! :( However, they did keep the Ludroth Nail Sword 'n Shield, which are still good with a boosted Water Element! (As far as I can tell, there's a few monsters that didn't come back from MH3, Ludroth being one of them, though you can trade with the merchant for it's resources)

Resources for upgrades are a bit easier to come by, mainly because the Large monsters are a bit more abundant, but aren't too difficult to slay. (Not like the Gigginox was in MH3... such an annoying monster...luckily it didn't return) It also helps that you can mount the monsters now to do extra damage. The entire battle arrangement is improved, though it doesn't ruin MH3's fortunately!
Also, right from the beginning you can get quite a good amount of different resources as pickups at gathering spots/mining/etc.

One thing I do hate is that there is one Large monster that has a very unfair hit box against you... no matter where you are it can hit you with it's tail if you are around it (which, unless you are using a gunner/ranged item, you will be around it) and it will spam this move! Luckily it doesn't do any elemental effects on you (unlike the Rathian's poison tail). Also, I do hate the rate of Large monsters that appear in the exploration part... however it gets you used to fighting more than one at the same time! (Replaying my savefile on MH3, I can say it helps make things easier in that game, kicked a Qurupeco and Rathian's ass at the same time!)

Speaking of the exploration part... I have a love/hate with it. I do love how it constantly changes the layout and such, plus gives you awesome pickups at gathering points, however they do spam monsters and make the herb, blue mushroom and Honey pickups alot rarer... but if you find any boxes or crates (3 always appear at the starting area) you can get alot of Field Med's and rations (even Field Meds+) which helps...alot.

I will say, though, that breaks are alot harder to preform on the Large monsters. Usually, in MH3, it takes barely any effort to break the great Jaggi's crest, but in this game, it takes effort! or...I'm perhaps just not used to the improvements on the battle system...we'll see.

But yeah, the variety of monsters you can run across earlier on makes for getting better weapons and armor alot easier!

Also, returning to MH3 from MH4, the battles against Large monsters goes by alot easier! Random encounter Large monsters I used to be cautious around or run away from are just so much easier! I also rely more on the support characters (the cha-cha's) more now that I got used to the helpfulness of the palicos! (which you get the palico's from the start, atleast you can get them from DLC's first as well as getting one main leader one right away. You also can bring one to two with you, as well as have the others train whilst you are away in order to level them up!)

So, in my opinion, I really do like the new game! It brings more than it took away (bye-bye water battles, hello jump attacks and mounting) and helps you improve and get used to the battles without making it too difficult to progress, but instead maintains a level of difficulty that keeps you on your toes without having you rage-quit! You actually feel extremely satisfied when you beat the difficult battles!

There's various quests you can complete to unlock (and upgrade) a Farm for making stuff like potions in bulk just like you could in Tri. It's also possible to unlock the ability to cook multiple pieces of raw meat simultaneously (Up to 10 at a time).

I already have the farm, though it's more you send away to "multiply" an item! It helps alot as I use alot more potions in this game, then again I'm taking more difficult quests in a quicker succession, so my stores of materials go down fast... i just need to find out how to upgrade it more...
Which reminds me, I need to upgrade my weapons as the monsters I'm facing take a bit longer to beat. Maybe should upgrade my armor as I've had my first two faints today against large monsters in the monster hunt quests.

But, to bare in mind, I am only on the 4 star quests right now, and just found out that there is a monster that, from the quest monster icon, looks like a Gigginox clone, which will not be fun to face if true.
...I miss my MH3U insectcutters... that elemental damage was so useful to have with them...

Now, about this 10 meat rotissary thing, I am intrigued...

Oh I forgot that simply using the farm upgrades it (Though I think you need to unlock each type of farming by completing certain quests), certain quests provide you with additional "Carts" so you can do multiple kinds of farming at the same time. A 4* quest will unlock the ability to cook multiple meat in town (Up to 10).and the cooked meat is available for immediate use, unlike the farm (You don't need to go on a quest to receive the meat).

Yeah you unlock carts and farming types after certain quests, I already have the second cart, and my mushroom farm is at 2 stars. I can do honey/insects, herbs and mushrooms right now.
If the meat cooking quest is a 4star one I'll know soon as I only have like...3 or 4 quests left in that pool.

:edit: Yeah, I just got it, you get it after completing the Rathian quest, which is unlocked after fighting the Najarala, which is an extremely fun fight, I must say!

Finally back into Old School Runescape. How about getting my Magic level up high while not even playing the game? Am currently splashing a f2p character at this time. To think, I hated it with a passion and here I am doing the same thing I HATED a few months ago. Seriously, all you do is attack a monster with low enough Magic bonus that you're guaranteed to miss, walk away, shower, sleep, work, whatever, come back, enjoy those gainz. EXP rate does suck though; it's only 13.8k XP per hour. However, it IS useful in that it requires no effort at all other than the initial set up. So yeah, 6 hours of doing absolutely NOTHING outside clicking on a mob and just leaving the game mechanics to do their job. Do that once a day and you max Magic out in 5 months. Do it twice a day and that'll be done in 2 and a half months.

I mean the admins of the game themselves have said time and time again it is NOT against the rules to do that, despite it more or less devaluing the Magic skill since people can easily just AFK and do that. Also, you don't gain any Hitpoints from it, meaning while it's good if you're into PvP'ing and intentionally keeping Hitpoints lower so your character appears to be a lower level than his true combat potential suggests, but for most players, it's harmful. Also, nobody cares if you're level 50 with 99 Magic and Ranged if even a common noob can one-hit KO you. Not to mention, if you attack other players in an attempt to completely overwhelm them with that grossly of overpowered stats, you will gain Hitpoints anyway, eventually rendering the build obsolete.

Gore Magala can suck it's own virus ridden &%$#! I usually do well against monsters when i first encounter them, maybe taking a bit longer to defeat them in the first go around, but never have I had a monster 2 shot me in less than 10 seconds after I upgraded equipment and got a +50 health boost! That is not a fair difficulty jump I say! I still have one continue left on the mission (I lasted longer the second time) but still, he's kicking my ass like it's nothing to him :/

Other than that though MH4U is still enjoyable for me ;) i got what I am now calling the duel kitty clubs that you can forge for the Dual blades :D useful when fighting lightning weak monsters as it has a large lightning elemental attack despite slightly lower natural damage, but a very large green bar compared to any others you have, as well as a decent yellow bar.

I also realise I have alot of weapons that I've been working on.... Alot more than my MH3U account. Still though, I miss the MH3U's Insecticutters with the Dragon element damage boost... By far my favorite early game weapons.
