I actually think this is a very good thing. I don't like that the fandom has permanently and unflinchingly labeled Dash as a lesbian. As the PonyConfessions tumblr puts it...

This collective headcanon has gone on long enough, and it needs to be debunked. I eagerly await season 3.

Wasn't that confirmed to just be a joke? I mean, Lauren Faust has no involvement in Season 3, so it seems a little unlikely she would know that kind of thing. And it also doesn't really sound like something that would actually happen and be canonical. That said, if it does actually happen, it could be very interesting.

Yeah, she totally doesn't need to be a lesbian. I mean, there's a lot of other letters in the LGBTQetc. acronym, you know! She could be bi or pansexual, and if the concern is stereotypes, then being the T would actually be breaking them!

I don't consider it to be hurtful stereotyping: As far as the fanfic writers are concerned, all the ponies are lesbians. Outside some creepy stuff with Applejack x Big Mac it's almost always girl on girl.

But the fanfic writers don't write for the show, and more often than not, I for one am glad for that.
