The sequel drastically improves the controls, I didn't get too far in either game though to judge the other aspects of them.

I finally get to play Sunset Overdrive for Xbox ONE. So far...it's been a blast. I love the artstyle of this game and the gameplay has been pretty fun. I like to think of it as the Xbox ONE's Infamous. I'm definitely going to play more of this game.

Decided to try Four Sword Anniversary Edition, and it's not too bad. Not something I would play in long sittings, but for a few minutes killing here and there, it's not too bad. I wish they would have streamlined it a bit more for solo play, maybe having an actual AI partner that would attack nearby enemies, and swapping the whistle button for a "hold still and let me work out this puzzle" button instead, so you could do the things like picking them up and throwing them more easily. A simple AI that would attack enemies and collect nearby items would have made this game so much better, and you could have easily thrown in a full 4-Link experience for Solo mode.

I'm not advocating piracy, but if you don't mind doing so and have an exploitable 3DS, you can easily download and install a ripped copy of the game to your 3DS's NAND. (inside the 3DS itself, not the SD). I know piracy is a big no-no, but considering that you can't get a hold of the game any other way, I personally don't feel all that guilty about it. I know the rules here don't let me really give much more directions than that, but considering the circumstances behind this game, I at least want to point out that it's a possibility. Now I just wish that I had a capture card or something to record it, but I don't think that they make one for the New 3DS, and the ones that I know work for the older models involve having to take apart and solder extra hardware, and I don't feel all that comfortable doing that. I'll stick to software homebrew and stuff for now. (Although since there are ways to stream from PC to the 3DS, I wonder if there's a way to do so in reverse. In that case, I would only need a screen-capture program, which I already have.)

I have finally found Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass for a decent price and have been playing them recently. They aren't all too bad, though took a while to get used to how to move and attack. I like the attack mechanics of it, though I do not like the movement mechanics in the least. I would rather have the option to move with either the joystick or the D-Pad as an alternative rather than direct with the touchscreen.

I also downloaded basically every handheld Zelda game I could onto my 3DS and have a DS Lite on the way to play any other that isn't available for download (Link to the Past + 4 Swords, and hopefully Minish Cap once i find a copy)

Finally I found two Minecraft clone games, one's called Cube Creator and another is called Battle Miner.  Cube Creator is like a typical Minecraft clone, whereas Battle Miner you get to craft guns and such and kill killer ants as you rescue survivors. Surprisingly quite fun.

You can do that already with the L and R buttons. :blah:

Yes, I know you can switch between the two and have the un-controlled one sit still so you can throw them or leave them on switches, but when you're not doing that they just follow you around and do absolutely nothing. A simple AI, even one as simple as the homing guards in LttP, would have helped the game immensely, so it felt like you had a reason to use the Four Sword besides a movable block to bring with you for block puzzles. I wanted a helper, not a Companion Cube.

While waiting for Codename STEAM, I decided to play some random RPGs. I ended up playing Eternal Sonata for PS3. I always keep forgetting how much harder this version is compared to the 360 version. On the 360 version, you can take out bosses rather easily, but on the PS3 version, bosses can complete wreck you if you aren't careful.

Yep, i started it few days ago and the boss are hard, i just defeat the boss knight in front of the Castle in 2° chapter, but he almost destroy my party in a blow

I've heard of Eternal Sonata, but seeing as I don't own a PS3 or 360, I've never played it. It's really different depending on the platform you play it on? Are there any other differences besides just boss difficulty?

Anyways, we had a huge lightning storm here in Washington the other night, so I had to unplug my PC for the day. Didn't get to play anything on it, so I decided to forgo finishing KHIIFM first, and jumped into Dream Drop Distance. Never played it before, and I'm not entirely sure what to think.

So far, I've finished both Sora and Riku's versions of Traverse Town, the first level of the game. Apparently, the Command System is the new standard, having seen it in Birth By Sleep, Re:Coded, 358/2 Days, and now Dream Drop Distance. (For non-fans of the game, you equip skills/magic, and each one runs off of a separate cooldown rather than giving you MP to spend. You use the Control Pad to flip through the list, and tap "X" to use the currently-selected skill.) Needless to say, I've gotten used to it, although I do miss the classic MP system.

Flowmotion (AKA context-sensitive parkour, with each trick having either a travel or attacking finish depending on button-press) seems slightly broken so far, since you're invincible while using it, it deals decent damage, and you can activate it as easily as tapping "Y" next to any wall. I managed to beat Sora's first boss by hiding in a narrow alley and spamming Flowmotion attacks until it died.

The new party mechanics are leaving me unsure as well. Rather than just getting Donald/Goofy as party members, you have to kill enemies to get special drops, then use them to "craft" friendly versions of said enemy. Sounds fine in practice, until you realize that unlocking new abilities such as Leaf Bracer (invincible while casting Cure magic) are dependent on your equipped party members. I don't mind playing with the system and discovering how to cook up new allies, but I'd feel a lot more confident with the older systems where you could see how to get new abilities beforehand, instead of constantly worrying about whether the series-standard abilities you're expected to utilize are linked to allies you didn't get around to using. I had a similar problem and dislike of Final Fantasy IX, because you unlocked abilities through equipment, so I would have to grind with sub-par gear just to make sure that I was getting abilities before buying new gear and moving on. (Honestly, that one made me miss VII's Materia System, just because you could move around abilities more easily without hurting stats)

On the bright side, I loved the expanded level design. Traverse Town is one of my favorite KH worlds, and seeing new areas instead of rehashes of the same three districts was a real treat. I heard that there are fewer worlds in this game, but if they're all individually larger like this, I'm pretty sure that I won't mind. Getting to play as both Sora and Riku is nice, but the Drop system (you're forced to swap characters and perspectives every time the "Drop Meter" runs out. Imagine if you were playing the two Oracle games, and every time a timer ran out, you were instantly swapped from playing Ages to playing Seasons, and vice-versa, no matter what you were in the middle of.)  is a bit of an inconvenience. Even in just the first level, I had nearly beaten the boss as Riku when I was forced to switch to Sora. After I got back to Riku's situation, the fight had completely restarted and I had to start it over.

Long story short, I'm enjoying the game, the plot, and the mechanics, but there are still those little things that come up that bug me. Personally, I would have had the two-character system work like Chain of Memories, where each character had their own separate plot that you could play individually, unless there's some sort of plot reason why the two of them suddenly became narcoleptic. (Yeah, I get it that these are the "Sleeping Worlds", but Sora and Riku are the only characters I've seen so far that have sudden overwhelming nap-attacks.)

yes, is actually a bit ' boring accumulate skill points , unless it is also possible to acquire them in ways different from the fight , I played a few games in the series "tales of" recently, you may win points completing secondary missions , not bad having 3000 point just for deliver an item at the inn

PS i met again that damned knight in a re-match and even this time i win whit all the party in critical status, is good, i'm used to hard games

Beat two SNES games recently: Street Fighter II (courtesy of Smash making me nostalgic again) and Donkey Kong Country 2. The latter went more smoothly this time, maybe it's because of experience, maybe it's because playing on the actual SNES is better, maybe it's just a placebo. Street Fighter II still remains one of the funnest fighting games I've played.

Will be getting back to Wind Waker shortly.

Picked up and beat Donkey Kong Country 3 off the Wii U. Verdict: Solid game overall. Graphics are fantastic, colorful, fleshed-out, the best of the SNES games. Well, minus the enemies, they seemed off. Gameplay was solid, fun, enjoyable. But compared to the first two games, something seemed missing... I'm not sure what it is. Well, other than David Wise on soundtrack duty; Eveline Fischer tried her best, but in the end it just felt like she was attempting to emulate Wise's style and didn't quite hit it. Maybe it's just the personality, it just doesn't feel as unique as the first game, and far from the personality the second game oozed. I dunno. Still fun, but lacking.

Also Kiddy Kong is terrible.

PS3 Version has more content, but the 360 version has better performance and much faster loading times.
