Who ever said owning a minuscule amount of games on one system is a bad thing? At least you're not stuck in a backlog vortex like a bunch of Steam gamers are. :P

I remember my Wii U with WWHD being my only game. At least I can focus all my attention on that one game instead of setting it aside for other games. I remember back in my childhood years I tend to beat a lot more games because I only had so little. That's really not the case anymore as I grew up.

This could be pretty cool, if done well, and not done at all like they were in Hyrule Warriors. Argorok was cool, but I found most of the big bosses to be really tedious and downright annoying to fight, especially if you were lower-leveled and/or they had too much health in some of the missions. Still, I hope something cool comes from this in Zelda U.

That makes me wonder if that large robot enemy we saw in the first trailer was a boss? Overworld bosses would be pretty neat, and I think it's safe to assume most of them (if not, all) will be optional, similar to the Big Octos in Wind Waker. I agree that Hyrule Warriors didn't exactly flesh out the idea that great, but I'm glad Nintendo saw cool ideas from it.

Looks like Zelda U is most likely being postponed.  It hasn't actually been confirmed, but making a 2015 release date is "no longer a priority."    This probably shouldn't come as a big surprise though given how many 3D games have been delayed. :P I am a bit bummed that they didn't release something to kind of hint at the progress and stuff that has made them feel the need to postpone it. :(

I was coming here to post that, you're fired.

Er I mean uh, is it bad I only got excited? I don't know why, but when he talked about these new ideas and how they wanted to make the game even more expansive and complete, I pumped my fist. Maybe it's because I thought about how games were on tight release schedules before (i.e. Wind Waker) and it felt like a "screw you" to that old requirement. Really looking forward to this now.

EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Okay slightly less excited. :heh:

I can understand that.  If extra time is being spent on the game to make it better, than the wait is worth it.

I honestly never quite know how long that extra waiting period should be.  I remember I was SUPER excited for that Indie game Dungeon Keeper clone "War for the Overworld," which was supposed to come out in August 2013, but is being released next week or so.  I lost so much interest in it over the course of a year that I barely even care anymore.  It's like taking your foot off the gas and going from 110 MPH to 5 and ending up on a deserted highway.  It just doesn't matter anymore.  Other things are more interesting.  Like cacti.  Cacti are always interesting.

So if this new Zelda game gets some new features, but doesn't take another full year to develop fully and get released, that'd be great, thanks.

If you could color me disappointed, well, you'd run out of crayons.

I mean, I'm sure the game will be even better due to the extra time to work on it, but... doesn't mean I'm not disappointed that we have to wait even longer.  I do have a lot of love for everything else Nintendo does, but Zelda is my big love and I'm getting a little sick of the remakes lately...

I would have liked to know exactly what ideas they decided to delay the game for. But... I guess it will just be a surprise now. I'm a tad disappointed at the wait, but I'd much rather have a better game later than a letdown earlier.

I was a bit disappointed that Zelda U is postponed, but I think all this wait will be worth it at the end. Since Aonuma mentioned that they're going to make it the "largest and ultimate Zelda game", I'm kinda excited to see what they got.

Added the two links to the first post.

And I was just discussing the subject of Zelda U being delayed a few days ago too. I will admit I am also disappointed to hear we have to wait a while longer for release. At the same time however I am also pretty excited. Oddly enough I like that we're seeing/hearing so little of this title. I really do wonder how long it would take them to add in these ideas... since February 21, 2016 is the 30th anniversary of Zelda. Seems like a fitting release date for a Zelda game that is trying to take the series back to its roots. But we'll see eventually.

Yeah it sucks that it had to be delayed, but I remember Miyamoto-kun saying this when Ocarina of Time got delayed...

"A delayed game is eventually good... a rushed game is forever bad."

Too bad that didn't work with Duke Nukem Forever... lol.gif

Also, a delayed game is more harshly critiqued.

I am torn because... I want it this year. lol.  But I think if they focus on making it the best Zelda game ever, then I am okay with it.   However, I am still not sold on how the open world / any dungeon thing will be (Because of risk of storyline being an after thought like aLBW).   So, it is a bummer that they AREN'T SHOWING IT AT E3!!!!  I mean... What....  Why wouldn't think show it at E3?  I get maybe not having it playable, but nothing at E3?  Not a small trailer of Link beating someone's ass or anything...

Looks like they are focusing on Star Fox and Mobile games at E3.  DANG IT!  I was so excited for Zelda news... Either way, this has been delayed like how Ocarina of Time was, so now it has to live up to that.  And I know Nintendo can do it. :)

My only fear is, I really hope this isn't a Twilight Princess delay thing... where they are delaying it so that it is a launch title for the NX.  Imagine if they are just trying to set up some sort of Online Co-op mode on this game where, it would only work on the NX... since we know that the online features on that thing will be a lot better...  I really hope not just because that delay reason would be lame.  But I wouldn't put it past Nintendo... Twilight Princess.... ;)

Possibly, or possibly they can have a more linear storyline that gets fleshed out by the world and the NPCs themselves, similarly to A Link to the Past. Regardless, while I have enjoyed several Zelda stories, I don't play Zelda games for the story; story could be garbage but if the gameplay's great I'm all for it. :P
