So guys... Sun or Moon? For once in my life I know nothing about the new Pokemon games, and I kind of want to try and keep it that way until I actually play it. All I know is that I'll be picking the fire cat because fire cat.

The NPC's have no problem calling the main character that though.  Even better.

Yeah, it's all kinds of stupid, really. Heck, even the main characters talk trash, it's really only the players being able to do the same that Rockstar seems to worry about - and even then it's only the ones doing it through the in-game chat, there's nothing stopping you from yelling profanity into the mic. Heh.

That would make me lean towards Moon, really, considering my wonky sleep cycle.

 

Is that it in terms of major differences? I'm assuming it's got the usual stuff, like version exclusive Pokemon and such, but yeah. That Sun legendary does look sweet though...

That's really the only big difference. There's a few version exclusives, including one that evolves into a different form depending on which game you have, and aside from the title legendary, there's two version exclusive legendaries (one of which has a minor plot appearance, you can look up "UB-02" if you want that to sway your decision), but aside from that and the inverted time in Moon, they're about the same.

Gamefreak's word filter has been garbage since Gen 5. The hilight being that it would not allow you to trade a Cofagrigus unless it was nicknamed because it thought you were trying to say fag. In gen 6, a couple of people named Viola complained that they couldn't name their character after themselves because apparently the name contains the French word for rape in it and is thus on the blacklist. I can understand not wanting profanity in names, but GameFreak takes a little too far and ends up just making fools of themselves.

If it makes you laugh, DashSim has two pokemon named Girlboner and Plushytits though.  But she couldn't name her Mankey "Fluffer" because of the censors.

So I just purchased Moon. It's gonna be downloading for a while because Nintendo doesn't know how to create an online service. Moon is almost 4 gigs. That shouldn't take more than ten minutes on my connection but hey, Nintendo, whatever. I just want to play dammit!

 

Anyways, how many of you are going for a catch em all kind of thing here? I'll be doing that myself, so if any of you are looking for any Moon-specific Digimon, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up.

 

EDIT: By the way, does anyone know if you can get the demo goodies if you've already started the game, but not the demo? I also assume it has to be saved on the same SD Card, which would probably mean I need a new one in order to get that Greninja. I'm a sucker for this stuff, heh. When it comes to Pokemon I'm somewhat of a completionist I guess.

I can't wait until the Pokebank is updated to allow Sun and Moon. I already cloned all my legendaries in Alpha Sapphire as well as my other good ones. I don't plan on using them to make the game easy but if I get stuck I certainly might have to resort to Mega Rayquaza to one hit KO anything I have trouble with.

I don't really consider cloning cheating personally as I simply did it so I can keep them in the original game as well. You never know when a Pokebank update might prevent you from transferring them back. Or if their hacked Pokémon detecting starts labeling legendaries or event Pokémon as hacked.

Actually, you won't be able to transfer them back at all once they've been transferred to Sun and Moon. How did you clone them?

I find it annoying that I can't move Pokemon around in my boxes until I leave Festival Plaza

Ah I had no idea. And I used my Action Replay to clone them. You can clone slots or entire boxes so it comes in pretty handy. And of course if you want tons of Master Balls or something in case you have trouble catching a legendary there are codes for that kind of stuff as well.

Progress: Beat the Ghost Trial, Saved a little girl's Yungoos from Team Skull, beat the 3rd Island Kahuna, and....

Infiltrated Aether Paradise and defeated a whole bunch of Aether Foundation Employees, Faba (twice), a couple of Team Skull Grunts, Guzma, and Lusamine.

Unfortunately, Alola's crisis has not been averted yet because Lusamine and Guzma escaped through an Ultra Wormhole to try and catch one of the Ultra Beasts while your character, Hau, Gladion, and Lillie just stood there and let them escape.

 

Team Levels are 49-51.

It's a LOT easier to clone Pokemon now.  Especially if you have a soft-modded 3DS.  I use a local version of the Pokebank, and it's amazing.  It even works for carts back to gen 4 and you can just import them to whatever.  I'm not going to trade anything from them to Sun and Moon until Pokebank gets actual support for Sun and Moon though, for obvious reasons, though the option is available.

Sir, I think you may be confused. There are no Digimon in the Pokemon franchise.
