It's coming to the consoles. Now if the consoles get new content (beyond what the PC version has), then the PC version should get it too, otherwise this would be completely stupid. Who wants to buy an entire console for one game?

I am curious about that new content, assuming it is also included in the PC version. Until then, if I play any more Terraria in the time I have on weekends, I shall see if any new maps or mods come to my interest.
I still haven't modded my version. Not in fear or anything, but I just wasn't interested in going through all the installations and stuff. Have you already tried a few?

I'm not sure what the new content will be, but I have the strangest feeling that they are dramatically overhyping this, and the new content will be minimal.

Game Laucher allows you to pretty much launch the vanilla game as well as either tconfig or other mods that don't use tconfig. So when you open terraria through steam, it doesn't just immediately launch the game, but rather it launches game launcher, giving you the option to either launch the vanilla game or something else.
Tconfig is also opened through game launcher, and is referred to as "the mod of mods". For any mod that uses it, it allows you to pretty much turn on or off any mod settings that you wish, at any time. So indeed you can launch multiple mods at once if you wish. Thus for any map you play, you only activate the mods that you wish to activate, provided it's a tconfig mod. Bear in mind that tconfig uses a separate save list, and you are not limited to just five maps from the designated folder. The maps are not named worlds 1 through 5, but rather what you choose to call each world.

Instead I'm tossing hallowed all over the place to keep corruption away. Say what you will, I actually find Hallowed easier to deal with *in addition* to not looking like a wasteland.

Actually Serious Sam 3, King Arthur's Gold, Freelancer's Crossfire 1.9 mod, Rage, Gnomoria, and Dreams of Yesterday are tiding me over. Terraria is just sitting there in a pretty skirt.
