Humanity sees any "disfunction" as an insult. Its like we are too good to let people like Schwa blemish humanity's reputation. I find that sort of behavior the damnation of mankind, as we are nothing. Insignificant specs upon insignificant specs.

I don't consider myself any better than any other man, but I don't want to be human if it means that people who aren't what society wants them to be get more problems than they need. Schwa is a good guy, he doesn't need other "perfect" humans pissing on him about his "imperfections." People are trying to find "cures" to these "imperfections," and if I recall your Autism thread, Schwa, you aren't even looking for a cure. You like who you are, and I have the utmost respect for people who are and want to be different, along with dealing both the ups and the downs.

A small analogy. In a world of deaf people, someone who can hear would be "abnormal". And if he heard music and danced to it, the rest would think him crazy.

It all depends on your point of view. Aspies see some things others don't, yet they miss - either don't see or don't attach any importance to - many things that for most people are extremely important.

I don't think either non-apsergers or aspergers is a disadvantage, it's more two more or less different ways of seeing things. We can learn from them, have to in fact - and every now and then, they can learn something from us.

I'm pretty sure you don't choose whether or not to have Asperger's. icon_sweat.gif

I was going to post this, but Koopa is more articulate than I am so I'll just quote his post.

I meant that as Schwa would deny a cure for his "problem".

Oh, okay.

Still, that's a completely hypothetical situation, so the whole thing's kind of moot.

Since a), I can't be bothered to revive the original topic for this and b), this kind of fits here:

I just had a bizarre dream. It was some sort of weird cross between various things (I think one of them was Metroid, as I think there was some mapping out of stuff involved). There was something to do with McCain and Palin for some reason. And it somehow incorporated elements from two other dreams I had. And to top it off, it had some really fat goats.
I have no idea of what the general plot of said dream was, but it ended with everyone in the place where the dream took place leaving because the place was closing (and it was around 12:30 or something). And for me, the dreams I actually remember ramble on for insane periods of time.

So, I've been trying for the last week or so to hunt down a copy of TETRIS DS. No luck. All shops I tried either are sold out or - more commonly - have no idea what that is. One shop assistant asked me if it was a Wii game. icon_shrug.gif TETRIS DS <-- It says "DS", n00b.

Wow, that's sad.

Well, I have three things to talk about. First, I'm excited. I just ordered a DS flash cart! Yay!

Second, my mom is redoing the kitchen. We found out the cabinets she ordered don't fit, the floor needs to be redone, and we have mold and rotting wood. Joy.

Third, I've become addicted recently to Dante's poem "The Divine Comedy". Anybody else read it?

Yeah, I think they stopped producing it outside of Japan. I wanted to get it for my brother's birthday earlier this year, and it was about $100 new, but about $30 for the Japanese version. It's come down a bit now, though.
UK, right? Amazon's got it for £25 now.

Switzerland, unfortunately, but I'll be going to the UK for christmas. I'll continue the search there. Otherwise I might just get a jap. version - I mean, how much text do you need to read to play tetris?

Russ: I've read some parts of it, but never in full yet.

Actually, for the Zelda game Tetris DS version, you need to follow the instructions they give you to clear the blocks in certain rows. You'll lose if you can't read it. icon_razz.gif

I feel your pain, Koopa-I cannot seem to find a copy of FF IV DS anywhere...
And I have managed to permanently install 2.10 on a school computer. Now when I log on to the server on any computer, it will always be there. So take that, school security. Yeah...

I saw a couple of used copies of Tetris DS at a nearby Gamestop; they were like $40 each. It's pretty ridiculous.

Russ: True, but that mode sucks anyway so you're not really missing much. icon_razz.gif

I wouldn't say that. I just emulated it with my M3. It's an awesome game, and the Mission (Zelda) mode is one of my favorites, since it's so hard.

DOSBox sucks... especially when you're emulating DOS games. ... That was a serious statement.
