Today, I noticed that "Brony" is one letter different from "irony". It really fits when you consider the target audiences.

So apparently PARTY.MOV was released a few days ago. I watched it, and by the end, I was... ehh... Underwhelmed and nauseous, I think is the best way to put it.

I mean, we saw Fluttershy's shed with walls covered with the corpses of small animals, blood everywhere, then Rainbow Dash getting sliced in half, then her decomposing bug-infested corpse being dug up so Twilight could try to zap her back to life. And PARTY.MOV is what made me nauseous. Something's wrong there.

I'm really hoping SWAG.MOV will be better. If they just get rid of the vomit and menstrual blood jokes, I think we'll be good. It wasn't funny the first time, nor was it funny the fiftieth.

It's the only one I've been looking forward to. Though to be honest, I keep saying "Hey hey hey! Stay outta my shed!" in that voice to myself often enough during the day. Spot on.

I watch the .MOV series just because. I don't actually enjoy them. I mean, I suppose APPLE.MOV was kind of fun, but after that they just left me feeling rather upset. I still quote some of the more tasteful lines (which ironically includes "Stay outta my shed" in the Fat Albert voice), but in general it just bothers me. As parody animations go, I much prefer EpicCupcakeTime/EpicPieTime/EpicWubTime. And as parodies in general go, I think Friendship is Witchcraft will hold me over for as long as I need.

Speaking of, anyone else remember the dark ages of the fandom, back when "The Mentally Advanced Series" was the best (or...well...least bad) MLP abridged out there? Dear CELESTIA, the horror!

So I just re-watched the entire series in one go (took me 18 hours but it was worth it), and...I think Ponyville Confidential is my all-time favorite episode thus far. Just, watching the crusaders become ostracized from all the places they thought they were welcome...it hits me right in the hnnnnngggg. The episode as a whole is just so well-produced, well thought-out, perfectly executed...it leaves me an emotional wreck when I watch the ending.

I finished the sequel to My Little Dashie. It wasn't as emotional, but still hits you like a ton of bricks if you had read the original. I'm deeply glad to have experienced its weight.

EDIT: Y'know what's kinda sad? Not sure if I brought this up or not before, but doesn't it seem like your own name, as a Pony, kind of defines you for life?

What I mean

Derpy Hooves, Screw Loose, and some other pony I am unsure of her name. Screw Loose's cutie mark is a screw. What the hell?!! Did she go insane because that's her name? I mean would you name your child "Autie" because they will eventually become autistic? The hell is this? I mean they clearly name their kids when they're born, as indicated by the Cake twins.

Balloon Party

So a while back, the "Balloon Party" album was released, and I've started listening to it. It's a collaboration of almost every pony music artist out there, compiled into one album, Balloon Party! It's really good!

There's also "Balloon Party - After Party", which is the second one. It's also pretty good, a little smaller, though.

Neat. If I were more of a song person, I would appreciate that. I'm not a big fan of that style of animation though. It feels like the heads were animated to move slightly just so it could be called movement.
