My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

It's even more depressing than I thought. They're not even trying. Do you know what the title is? DO YOU? "Welcome to Care-a-lot". CARE-A-LOT! F***, they didn't even pretend to search for a halfway-original pun. From now the F*** on, "Canterlot" is going to be sharing a time slot with "Care-a-lot". I almost shouldn't even give the Care Bears reboot a shot at this point for being so pathetic, but I promised I'd give it a shot, and I intend to.

It's like saying Michael Bay was being lazy and unoriginal when he called the evil Transformers "Decepticons." Yeah, the movies are all pretty awful, but that's not at all the reason why.
Note, I'm not really trying to defend the show, because it's very likely going to be terribad.
Also, ponies to help keep the thread on track. Tingle is best pony.

Not only that, but Camelot" didn't seem relevant to the concept of bears, so what could I do but assume it was a knock off?
(fun fact: I have not yet watched the pilot episode on account of I slept until 11am!)
On topic: I'm ashamed to admit it didn't occur to me until just now that the art styles of MLP and Wind Waker go EXTREMELY well together.

I did not realize that, on account of (to be quite honest) I did not give enough f***s to actually look into it. That's not how I roll. Show me a reboot that isn't terrible, and THEN I'll research the history of the franchise.
It disappoints me that you judge whether or not something's history is worthwhile by its present iteration. :/

But until someone tells me "hey you should watch this new version", I don't look into the history of the franchise, as it is not yet relevant to my interests. It happened with ThunderCats, too. And Doctor Who. It's just how my brain works.

The Starship Enterprise is going along when it spots a strange wormhole in the distance, Picard has them try to get a reading on it so they close in to try and scan, but it's not picking anything up, they can't get close enough to get a scan so they pass it of as a loss and try to leave, when suddenly they get attacked by a Romulan war vessel, which knocks the
Enterprise in to the wormhole and they get teleported to Equestria.
So they beam down Picard, Jordy, Data, and Crusher to the surface to investigate, when they are suddenly transformed in to Equines (except for Data), and because of their physical changes they can't beam aboard the ship (except for Data).
Then they find out that the Romulans had followed them through the wormhole and started to attack Equestria.
That's all I have so far, it's really stupid and I'll probably never do it because I'm a terrible writer...

I just had a random idea for a cross-over fanfic:
The Starship Enterprise is going along when it spots a strange wormhole in the distance, Picard has them try to get a reading on it so they close in to try and scan, but it's not picking anything up, they can't get close enough to get a scan so they pass it of as a loss and try to leave, when suddenly they get attacked by a Romulan war vessel, which knocks the

I'm extremely appalled at how this fandom has in general failed to tap the potential of all the Star Trek content. You'd have thought there would be at least one "Peril with Parasprites"/"More Parasprites, More Peril" fanfic, but all it gets is a single subtle (though very deliberate) pun in Friendship is Witchcraft.
Or how about just in general referring to the fandom as the Borg?
I dunno, it just seems a little disappointing.
> Everyone notices that the new villain is Q
> Nobody mentions Star Trek in proportion to ponies, ever.

I WOULD READ THAT
At least twice. Do you think technology would work there, though/ Phasers and whatnot? What would their communicators function as? Who even knows if they speak English in Equestria. Doubtful. >.>

I'm not judging whether it's history is worthwhile, but whether my pursuit of its history is worthwhile. It was the exact same thing with MLP. In fact, no - I didn't even realize MLP had a cartoon before FiM came out. And now look at me - I own DVDs from all four incarnations, the G2 game for PC, and original animation cels from MLP Tales.
But until someone tells me "hey you should watch this new version", I don't look into the history of the franchise, as it is not yet relevant to my interests. It happened with ThunderCats, too. And Doctor Who. It's just how my brain works.
I suppose that my brain works in an entirely different way from that; I read Geoffrey Chaucer, watch Errol Flynn movies, and play NES games. :B
I really have no problem with whatever you choose to do, but know that you shall miss an immense amount of things worthy of attention that way.

Not really. The other thing about me is that I have REALLY low standards for cartoons, so I end up liking the vast majority of reboots that are recommended to me, which in turn leads me to go back and try the older versions regardless. In fact, so far I think the only reboot I've tried that hasn't made the cut for my standards is Strawberry Shortcake.
And that verdict is entirely reasonable.

Well, because they have technology in Equestria I'd say that their equipment would work, but all of them except for Data wouldn't be able to use the phasers or tricorders due to the lack of hands.

I'm the kind of person who thinks he writes a big long paragraph and then when he goes back to read it it only takes about twelve seconds...

And now for something completely different...
I've now fulfilled one of my guilty pleasures of using a Pinkie Pie toothbrush and toothpaste to brush someone's teeth (my niece). Happiness ensued.
My niece's personality seems to be showing signs of Pinkie Pie, so it's a rather interesting coincidence.
