I will say, some of the features being removed makes it a bit of a pain at times, such as having to go into Festival Plaza for all your trading/battling needs. For all of Gen VI's shortcomings, the PSS was wonderful...

Agreed that's the only big thing I dislike. Secret bases are far better than the Festival Plaza.

Progress: Beat the Electric Trial and Team Skull Boss Guzma. Been catching a lot of different Pokemon to try and level up the isles of Poke Pelego.

Team: Only change is Growlithe is now Arcanine (Evolved it at Level 39 after letting it learn Crunch). Team Levels are 40-42 after some training.

Thoughts that are going through my mind during the last couple of sessions:

-(Going through the Routes of the 3rd Island, fighting trainers along the way) "I'm on the 3rd major island. Why are 95% of the trainers that I fight still having only one Pokemon?"

-(Encountering Team Skull Grunts at the end of Route 10) "Man, Team Skull is really dumb. What kind of evil team tries to steal a bus stop sign?"

-(Training, encounters a wild Cleffa who successfully calls a Clefairy for help. Haven't caught either of them) "You know, this calling for help mechanic wouldn't be so bad if it didn't block you from catching Pokemon as long as there's 2 Pokemon you're fighting against. It's hard to choose which Pokemon to KO first so you can catch the other one when you haven't caught both".

-(Another battle with a wild Cleffa after catching one in the other battle. This one successfully calls a Chansey for help) "A Chansey?! I'm getting this one. Good thing my way of catching wild Pokemon (Magneton paralyzes with Thunder Wave, Decidueye then comes in and weakens the Wild Pokemon with False Swipe with no risk of accidentally fainting the Wild Pokemon) is working really well".

This. This mechanic is garbage with this caveat. Remove that, and it's... still somewhat annoying but not nearly as bad.

Or at least update it to allow you to bring out another Pokémon and throw a Pokeball at one while there are two.

I understand maybe they wanted to add a challenge, but it is far more annoying than challenging.

So apparently there's no Super Training and Horde Battles. Those are easily two of my favourite features from XY and they were completely removed in SM. Also, no DexNav from ORAS.

Sigh.

While there may be no super training or horde battles, with the SOS mechanics, EV training is actually faster than in Gen 6. DexNav... yeah, the exclusion of that was really stupid.

Except i really liked those two features and there was absolutely no reason to remove them. I never even used Horde battles for EV training, but just for leveling. I used Super Training for EV training and because the minigame was fun.

These games are getting more and more dissapointing.

Paniola Ranch's music is so reminiscent of Ordon Village/Ordon Ranch/Fishing Hole

Regarding a third version, I'm not seeing that work in the traditional sense, cuz, well...

People want a third version? I'd prefer if gamefreak goes down to 1 version per game :P

I caught a certain legendary Pokemon (#300) and thought I'd name it NightWatcher.

Then the game says "you can't use that word"

...

I had no idea what was going on, then 24 hours later I realized- OMFG GameFreak, I wasn't trying to slip a 4 letter obscenity past you, SMH

Gamefreak's word filter has been garbage since Gen 5. The hilight being that it would not allow you to trade a Cofagrigus unless it was nicknamed because it thought you were trying to say fag. In gen 6, a couple of people named Viola complained that they couldn't name their character after themselves because apparently the name contains the French word for rape in it and is thus on the blacklist. I can understand not wanting profanity in names, but GameFreak takes a little too far and ends up just making fools of themselves.

Is there any trick to getting Pokemon to stay at Poke Pelago? The first few I encountered stayed, but now they all disappear.

Don't have the game yet. I was planning on waiting for the inevitable Switch version, but now that I'm going to be staying at my parents house for a few days I kind of have to admit that it is tempting. Not that I can afford it but hey that's what credit cards are for, right? Right?!

Wow, that's pretty silly. At least they're not Rockstar though, because in Grand Theft Auto V, a game known for its violent nature, it doesn't let you send swear words in texts in the Online mode. Mind you that Sony doesn't have the same kinds of word filters in place over Playstation Network or anything, this is specifically Rockstar's own filters. Because while it's okay to bash in someone's head with a hammer, calling them a fucking bitch would be out of line. Or something.

Makes some sense, of course, Rockstar wants to maintain a friendly community. Though I think it might be a good idea to start reinventing the game if that's your goal as a developer, because the majority of GTA Online players are not looking to make friends out of their online opponents. :P

The NPC's have no problem calling the main character that though.  Even better.
