I really need to just write some sort of script on every room with a locked door that changes the room for each other map. It's the only thing I can think of to do. I don't think you can affect doors on other screens though. Really not sure.

To get the Magic Key, you want to be on F-1, on the south cross side, and be working westward from the eastern-most vertically central room.

Will take a closer look at other things later. Got a bunch of stuff backed up right now.

Oh it wasn't by me at all. 99.8% of the quest is by C-Dawg, waaaay back from 2002 to 2004. Somewhen in there. I just haxX0red into it sometime in 2011 to fix all the bugs to make it far more playable. Also decided to "modernize" it a bit as well.

Okay, now that I know where the find the dungeon item, it should be a little more bearable.  I like to think I'm good enough at keeping my eyes open that I'll be able to make my way through the second floor...unless I keep getting blindsided by Red Bubbles and having to backtrack to the first floor to get unjinxed. :sweat:

 

Er...now that I think of it, is there any progress in that idea you had of making the trap crosses function via scripts?  If that works, you'd only need one version of the dungeon instead of four, which could give us less to have to check for bugs.  I don't think even I could survive four versions of nearly every room, especially with how few shortcuts the dungeon has and how so many of the obstacles were designed to make you start over if you screwed up even once...and how very little of that has been changed on the second floor...

My scripting functionality is rudimentary at best; my apologies. Though with that magic key, (Because screw spoilers. Really.) the locked doors on F-2 won't be a problem, and dungeon progress is essentially filtered by which direction cross block you're going with.

I could also make a far cheaper key vendor somewhere in the Statues area.

Not a thing. Been out of state and away from the computer, and helping a friend of the family get back on their feet after their house burned down. Also have some crazy religious holidays coming up. I have to buy a goat and a really sharp knife, and have to find out how to draw a pentagram.

Life, am I right?

But seriously, (Not that I wasn't 80% serious there.) I'm so far from being the scripter that this project needs me to be. Consolidating all four maps into a single map is not an undertaking that I am prepared to devote the time necessary to do so.

Finally back somewhat, re-downloading so i can get back to assisting with the testing.  will take a little bit, due to having to start all over from the beginning though.  been checking every now and again.  looks like lots of people finding things.

I've actually stopped working on it for a bit due to lack of bugs. Bugs take vast precedence over new features and modifications.

Yeah, way too many changes over the last bit of time.  Had to take a break from this quest.  So may get back to this when the final version is ready to be tested

just got the lantern last night, and for some reason, i am unable to use it.  i did not get any magic with it, nor do i remember if we needed it previously when i last played.  it could have been tired brain, or noob brain (we all have it sometimes), but could not find any magic, or figure out why i could not use it.  

 

did find one tile error/glitch, will post when i have some more to go with it. I do not like posting just one thing at a time

 

EDIT:  never mind, i found it.  was a noob/advanced noob moment.  i skipped the sequence with the owl at the beginning because i knew where to go, forgot about the magic you get there
