Looks like Spiritomb and Sableye will finally have a weakness to Fairy Types.

Not like Sableye was good in the first place.  I didn't get the hype behind it in the first place :|

Neither of the ghost/dark types were very good. Their stats were subpar (though spiritomb wasn't quite as useless, it could actually be a decent all-out attacker, if you were running mono-dark. Pretty much useless otherwise, though.), and the only thing they had going for them was no weaknesses and 3 immunities.

Honestly, my big thing is I don't get why they would take an already underpowered type and give it an additional weakness. Dark-types may only have had two weaknesses, but considering what those two weaknesses ARE (two of the most common attacking types, fighting and bug), adding more seems like a bad idea, given dark-types' usually sub-par defensive stats; especially when the fairy type is going to be such a heavy hitter in gen VI, considering its double damage to dragons, fighters and dark, 3 resistances and an immunity. And exactly WHY did dragons need another weakness, anyways? Dragon-types are way overrated. They have high stats, but ice weaknesses are often crippling for ANY pokémon, and the few dragon-types that AREN'T weak to ice (I think there are 4?) are still weak against other dragons, plus, Reshiram and Kyurem are both weak to other common attacking types (Reshiram to ground and rock, and Kyurem to fighting and rock), leaving Palkia and Kingdra as literally the ONLY dragon types that you needed a dragon deal super effective damage to. Not to mention the fact that dragon-type attacks are already resisted by steel-types.

Sableye definitely, but Spiritomb can sometimes be a tank if his Nature boosts his Def and Sp Def. I guess his low max HP balances him out a bit.

But that's the big problem with Spiritomb, its low HP and lack of effective recovery makes it an abysmal tank, even with a beneficial nature. Ok, maybe not abysmal, but there are far better tanking pokémon, even within the dark and ghost types.

No weakness, priority taunt, substitute, recover and will-o-wisp among many other non-attacking moves for Sableye with the help of Prankster.

It really depends on how you choose to play it and the team mates you're playing it with. Assuming it's from a competitive point of view.

Meh, that's a decent moveset for Sableye. Assuming your opponent doesn't have any strong fire-types, given that even Houndoom can wreck Sableye's shit, with its immunity to "Will-o-wisp". And its low stats pretty much ensure that the vast majority of fire-types will OHKO it before it could set up a substitute, or recover any damage that it took. Even from a specialist's standpoint, Sableye is one of the least useful dark-type Pokémon,

So um, if this is true... what the hell? I mean, maybe it's only true for the demo and not the final gameplay, but that wouldn't explain the "2D game with some 3D gameplay" tagline. That's honestly kind of disappointing. I mean I guess it isn't for people who don't use the 3D to begin with, but I have it on all the time, so it's disappointing for me. Ugh. Sure, that doesn't affect the actual gameplay within, but it's still annoying. >_>

I am a little confused, but it is trying to say that you can't turn on the 3D (using the slider of the 3DS) during the game? That's really weird

Odor Sleuth/Foresight or Scrappy + Fighting Moves.  It did have a weakness, just had to plan around it a bit.  Prankster is a one of the best abilities in the game (and I wasn't aware it had that until now) and definitely makes any pokemon a real threat, but overall I'd prefer a much stronger pokemon that might take x2 damage more often.  That is, if I even played competitively. :x

Also, yeah that lack of 3D thing is not the coolest thing, despite that I don't really use 3D all that often, I like having the option there at times. D:

It will only be active during battles, but won't be during the overworld. At least, that's how it worked in the demo, and it seems will be the same way upon release.

So what I got from the article is that not only is the gameplay not in 3D, but using it in battle leads to framerate issues. Wow... For a big first-party title like this, that's pretty lazy. It's not a huge deal breaker or anything but... Wow, show some effort GameFreak.

I don't get what the big deal is.  Is it really all that important to have the tops of buildings protruding from your 3DS, or Charizard vomiting fire into your face?  Or, or, or, or, is it more important to explore the region and catch new monsters?

It almost makes me wonder if they simply didn't test it on the actual 3DS with 3D on for the longest time, then realized sort of last minute that it caused slowdown issues...

Honestly, I don't care about 3D.  It gives me a headache.  But it's more that this is just a bit sad.  It's a first party title that isn't making full use of the 3D's features... and has framerate issues.  It just doesn't look good at all for the company.

I wonder if this will basically be the next Ruby/Sapphire of the series.
