icon_lol.gif I saw two parents and their kid, and all three of them were downloading the Toys R Us Arceus. I guess for some things there just aren't age barriers. icon_razz.gif

The final week is the hardest to wait. Why? If the games keep tradition, the ROM will be leaked onto the internet sometime this week. Then I have to deal with that temptation. Great...

Well I'm 20 and going into Gamestop or a Toys r' Us store for an event Pokemon is kind of embarrassing too you know. But i don't care because I'm a proud Pokemaniac ha icon_razz.gif

The Japanese version ROM was leaked a day before the release in Japan and Nintendo immediately found out about it... so i hope they built some super duper anti-piracy thing on it to keep the pirates away.

So, the Pikachu-colored Pichu is in the US as well? Awesome!

Heh, I went to Toys R Us to get... I forget... but, yeah, I went there and was going to get an event pokemon. Heh, there was this group of kids there, probably from some daycare or something, but there was, like, 15 of them in these green shirts all trading/playing and saying how "I'm never trading Rayquaza! He's the best!" or "Can I borrow your DS for a second?!"

It was funny, kinda, but then I realized that I was there as well... icon_razz.gif

Ahhh, my childhood. I miss it so much . I use to think Mewtwo was the best pokemon ever. Having a Mew was the best thing you could have ever gotten back then.

I don't. Because that stops my legal backup of the game from working as well. It's a pain to go through disable anti-piracy stuff for a game you bought legally. But as far as I heard, the Japanese version had some pretty good anti-piracy features on it, and it took about a week for them to completely crack it.

Pokemon man. I'm not going to encourage piracy, but of all things in the world I think Pokemon can afford to allow Roms to leak. Most of their target audience don't even know R4's and CycloDs's exist, and it's not like they don't have enough money already. It doesn't really hurt you either in any way, shape, or form either.

Dragonite would benefit more from Waterfall because of its high attack stat; Surf is better suited to Lapras or Starmie. But really I think that Salamence has generally taken Dragonite's role as the "default" Dragon-type. Garchomp is stellar as always but it's now in the Uber tier, so... not for the battling style I want to play.

I'm still thinking of a good Water Pokemon other than Vaporeon (I already have one on my Platnium) that I can have surf. I'm thinking of Politoed because I can use it for moves like Psychic and Hyper Voice.

Dragonite > Salamence. Nothing will ever dethrone the original dragon.

Lapras is pretty nice. The Red Gyrados is always an option. Poliwrath gives you a fighting type as well.

Don't get me wrong, I started Pokemon back when Dragonite was the only Dragon Pokemon, but both Dragonite and Salamence have the same base stat total. Salamence's higher Speed and equal Attack makes it much more effective. Dragonite has a better pick of moves IMO (the ability to stick the Fighting-type Superpower is awesome) but both get the best Dragon has to offer which is really all they need. Dragonite looks much cooler though. icon_razz.gif

When it comes to Water Types, I want one with a strong Special Attack. I was gonna choose Lapras, but he has too many weaknesses.

Here's my Current Proposed Party.

* Meganium
* Arcanine
* Espeon
* Dragonite
* Politoed (Possibly)
* HM Slave Pokemon

You said you wanted Politoed for it's ability to learn psychic, yet you have a psychic type on your team as well. Because of that, I'd suggest you get a different water type that covers a different type (like ice, for example). Having two psychic users when you could have another type seems like a waste to me. Then again, what do I know?

What are the ideal 6 types of Pokemon that will work throughout the whole game?

Wait, maybe I might want a Scizor because it knows X-Scissor and Night Slash.

@Russ

The problem with having an Ice and Water Type is that he now has more weaknesses than before.

True, but it also has one more strength too. Aren't there any water types that can learn ice moves? I know Wailord can learn some. And Blastoise, if they haven't changed it from Yellow (which they probably have).

Almost every water type can learn Ice-type moves. I think Walrein is a really good choice. You shouldn't think too much of weaknesses, plus it's only four and they are all x2, and he has good Hp and Defenses. Unlike your Dragonite who gets x4 from Ice which will almost always certainly KO him. However how often do you even run into Ice-type Pokemon in the main game icon_razz.gif

Also, I really think you should look into Omastar. He's really slow but it has swift swim and it has the highest Special attack of any water and rock Pokemon (which you said you wanted/excluding legendaries). Plus fossil Pokemon are cool icon_smile.gif

Lots of Water types can learn Ice type moves, the last time I checked.

6 More days. >:U Arghhh.
