So Evan, you're basically saying go with the mini-dungeon idea or possibly throw it in a main dungeon?

Anyway, am very temporarily putting Adam's Quest Redux on hiatus. I had a jolt of inspiration to make something...really bad. I mean in a nightmare fuel way bad. I'll leave it at that.

I strongly suggest mini-dungeon or some sort of other event to claim it over a shop/main dungeon. The biggest problem I have with putting stronger tunics/swords in main levels is that it's very difficult to make the dungeon work around that without just feeling 'thrown in there'.

Since I'm not working on Destiny's Song, currently, I decided to turn my attention back towards my other project, which started out as me simply retiling Trials of the Gods. As such, here's the old map to compare to the new (as of this post, VERY unfinished) opening map for Champions of Balance

Old map (Trials of the Gods)

New Map (Champions of Balance)

Revised some strings. Been working on this for almost 4 years now (mostly on and off.) Really need to complete it already.

Today I finished beta testing Joel's new quest, "How Do I Play Zelda?". My overall thoughts? Without spoiling anything, this is easily the best quest Joel has made. I actually had a really great blast with this one and you can easily see he put a LOT of effort and determination into something serious. If I'll be honest, it all really paid off.

Either way, I have 2 more things to beta test now: The Neverending Fantasy Anniversary Edition and The Land of Anarchy. I better get to those soon :P

Time for the slight reveal of my "bad idea." Viewer discretion advised, especially if you're easily disturbed or creeped out:

You know, making a horror quest in ZC wouldn't be a bad idea, RedMageAdam...

To be honest, THAT wasn't the problem. I was talking about the nature of my other screenshot as it used blood and I have concerns that said screenshot would be too graphic in nature and result in me being warned. I mean horror in ZC is pretty non-existent, although that one area in Lost Isle is really creepy and disturbing and Mario's Insane Rampage is a good, but not safe for work quest. I guess I just have creepypasta on the mind right now.

If and when I return to Adam's Quest II, level 8 is going to be built around the concept of being in a creepypasta / nightmare world. I have a video that gives a basic idea of what that world is like. Basically, it looks like a normal overworld. However, if you try to leave the screen or stay on it too long, it cuts to static for a bit then everything comes back super creepy. That overworld, titled "RedmageAdam.exe", is meant to house levels 8 and 9 and have enemies intended to be fought with a sword between Magical and Master Sword strength, the Red Ring and approximately 16 hearts. There is a portal that goes back to the normal world, but other than that, everything is just one nightmare realm with very strong enemies that could make short work of you if you're reckless or for some reason don't have a Red Ring tier armor yet.

Yeah, I'm really paranoid about staying within the rules.

Oh no, sorry if you misunderstood what I said! I think its a good idea and I don't think you need to be super paranoid :P

Good luck regardless!

^Eeyup, pretty much. Actually, technically more like a trollpasta, but close enough.

I actually don't find this disturbing. But then again I have read my fair share of creepypastas and I guess I can't take gaming creepypastas seriously anymore, lol.

Too bad Zelda Classic can't handle hyper realistic blood. :(

Yuck :(
