Oh, yes.
EDIT: I almost want to make this a dungeon now. Technically it would give Lit Landing two dungeons, but this one is not accessed from the rest of the area. And then we'd have a proper fire dungeon as opposed to a factory/electric dungeon. The other exit (to the HP) would be a dungeon secret, of course.

This comment has reminded me of something I've been thinking over in my head for awhile now. We want for One Screen Massacre to be as open to new people as possible, but the problem with claiming screens is that it means you have to be on the topic continually, waiting for a chance to claim the next screen. This is, in my opinion, inherently anti-newcomer-friendly. Having there only be a few short openings to claim the screen each day (or none if Dimentio claims
) makes it very difficult for a newcomer to contribute. My question to all of you is therefore this:
What can we do to fix this?
Perhaps allowing newcomers to claim one screen before the previous screen is posted? So, say, Person A claims, and while they are designing a screen, Person B, someone who has not previously contributed, claims the next screen. Then when Person A posts an update, Person B gets the next screen. That way everybody has the chance to at least contribute something. I don't really think it's the best solution, but I think it is better then what we have right now.
What do you all think? Does anybody else have an idea of how we could improve upon the current system?

I seem to remember there being a script with which you can drop off the side of a mountain GB style (I can't remember the name, so I can't find it in the database) which could perhaps be used.

Sorry, can't think of a better system for claims. This is when I wish ZQuest had version control.

No.
You must join the F5 wars.

But seriously, it's also been a thought of mine.
A long list of claims saying "next screen" and "screen after that" could get out of control fast, and the thread could end up being a claims list instead of a gradual progress update series. I wouldn't recommend that.
At the same time, it's also become a bit of a refresher's club.
So I was thinking along the lines of what you suggested: first timers can make a claim request and get it next.
In other words...
And I would say Zax should have the next screen as soon as it opens up.
...fine by me.
And maybe make another allowance for people who haven't claimed within the last 7 days.
I'd like to say though, with my next claim I'm intending to add the resources for the Misery Ruins dungeon so that people can start working on that if they want.
So I'll be rejoining the F5 wars after Zax does his screen ![]()

If someone wants to contribute for the first time, let's give them priority to claim the next screen. Otherwise, it's everyone for themselves.
For overworld 0C, the whirlpools are meant to be warps to other dev screens once the first one gets full (you played chrono trigger, right?). Also, the current NPCs are meaningless, you can replace them. As people add signpost text to their sprites, please do not edit over those sprites.
In terms of lore, the story is that this world is encased in an elaborate Dyson sphere. Gannon has hired the most diabolical minds in quest creation to put link through the ultimate test that bends time and space into a new twisted reality: the one screen massacre.

Make a screen anywhere that seems fit. Theres unfinished dungeons and unfinished overworld and cave.

Okay. I'd like to start on that what looks to be level one. The screen to the right of the bridge at the bottom.
EDIT: Nevermind I just read that it's done. Perhaps I can start a new dungeon entrance screen? Which ones are available?
Level 1 (currently unnamed) is to the bottom right of the screen filled with npcs at the top and the bottom left of the raft screen.
Level 2 (Forsaken Woods) is the toprightmost screen.
Level 3 (Misery Ruins) is the bottomrightmost screen.
Level 4 (Prismatic Depths) is the whirlpool in the middle of all those colored mountains.
Level 6 or 7 (Horizon Factory) is the topmiddle yellow temple screen in the middle of the lava and ice areas.
Also, sorry about not uploading for a few days, was at a ball game yesterday and I've been feeling like crap today ![]()
