It's been confirmed that National Dex is going to happen along with the Pokemon Bank update. The bank is also getting it's own dex.

Do you have a source for this? Awesome news, but I can only find articles saying that Pokémon Bank will be updated with a National Dex. None of them state anything about the actual game's Dex. If it's true though, I'm pumped! Sign me up.

 

... Assuming this does happen, do you think we'll have to go through a Dex entry for every new Pokémon we import from the other games?

I don't know why TS put it in spoiler tags, but yeah, we're probably getting a third version this time, although unlike previous gens, it won't be on the same system.  Rumors point pretty strongly to it going to Switch and would basically be a version of it that isn't poorly optimized (in other words, Gamefreak hire some fucking people so you can make your games run better goddammit I could rant about this forever holy shit are Sun and Moon so poorly put together).  I'm sincerely hoping they won't be stupid and name it something like "Pokemon Stars" because... stars are kind of unrelated to why they're called Sun and Moon?  Since they have to do with day/night cycles, I feel like something like "Pokemon Eclipse" would actually make the most sense.

So I've been super lazy but I've managed to score a few decent Pokemon. Still waiting to give a good feel on this. The whole no 'gyms' thing kinda feels weird.

Progress: Beat Kahuna Olivia, visited the Aether Paradise, and now arrived at the 3rd island.

 

Team: Only changes are Barboach and Dartrix evolved into Whiscash and Decidueye. Team Levels are 32-35.

I've seen a couple of sources mention it. Additionally, the game's code apparently has the shiny charm marked as a reward for dex completion, so there's that. Here's the first source o the national dex I could find: http://nichegamer.co...ing-in-january/

Regarding a third version, I'm not seeing that work in the traditional sense, cuz, well...

Nebby. I can't say Nebby evolving into whatever their third version mascot is, which presumably would have to be Necrozma, since there aren't any other free legendaries.

If we're getting another S/M game, my money's on a sequel, like B/W 2. Though given Gen 6 didn't have one, I dunno if we should be holding our breath for one here.

Having enjoyed the music in this game immensely, I had to do a few covers songs on it.  The latest one is the battle theme with the final boss

This is a demaster, and it remarkably sounded like the Pokemon Trading Card game soundtrack, so I did a mock up image for the video.  Lemme know what you guys think.

So uh, after literally more than a decade of consistently playing Pokemon, it's finally happened.  I found and caught my first random wild shiny pokemon, and it wasn't even through using anything that increases your odds!  It was Poliwag, to be exact, which I think I'll turn into Politoed?  Either way I'm just glad it wasn't a friggin' Yungoos or Rattata, because godddd that would've been frustrating.

Did you get it through chaining?  I haven't actively tried to get a shiny since gen 4.

Mmmm not really, I was actually looking for Politoed for my Pokedex and when Poliwag called for help the first time, the shiny one appeared immediately.  I never really go looking for shinies these days, just hope one will eventually show up.

Played the game only an hour so far and the production values are already higher than the previous games. Everyone has a regular sized 3D model (no more those weird small body-big head from Gen 6) and the cutscenes are much better. Liking it so far.

 

Also, one of my main complaints with the series has been adressed: You mom has her own bed.

Man, these really rare SOS only Pokemon are too friggin' rare. I tried some long farming strings a handful of times and came up with nothing. I'd rather just get burned for high level Pokemon at the GTS.

 

Also, is there no Vs. Seeker?

According to Bulbapedia apparently not. And it sucks because it's actually my favourite method for leveling pokemon.

I will say, some of the features being removed makes it a bit of a pain at times, such as having to go into Festival Plaza for all your trading/battling needs. For all of Gen VI's shortcomings, the PSS was wonderful...

When I go to the GTS it updates Global Link, which is fine. But if I return to GTS later on that same day it will tell me "error you can't update Global Link every day" and disconnect me. After the error message I can try again without the game checking Global Link, but it's rather irksome to be booted just for that.
