I spy what appears to be a Raichu ripoff... ?

Anyway, "Mega Mewtwo X" looks awful, so I'm glad I have the Y version; I actually like that form. As for the starter evolutions, um, Froakie's looks alright, Chespin's looks... odd, and Fennekin's... I dunno. Definitely reinforces the femininish look of Fennekin, but I guess now I'll wait to see how its final form looks before judging which starter I pick up. Which may suddenly shift to Froakie, who was my least-favorite before...

The dog looks... interesting. Is he customizable like a poodle or something? I'll just leave his fur alone if I end up with one, poodle cuts are ridiculously stupid... The new Psychic type looks neat, and the other fossil Pokémon looks kinda cute. The dinosaur... meh. Looks alright but meh, dinosaurs. Which I have been trained to say by default since Russ likes them too much. >_> <_<

Anyway, glad we're getting looks at the other Pokémon and the starter evolutions, it's about damn time. And I gotta say, they actually look leagues better than the last generation's selection, though that's not saying much. This may turn out fine after all.

New trailer, reveals the names of the second-stage starters as well as the fossil Pokemon, the new Psychic-type cat, and the dog. Dog is indeed customizable... I guess that's neat but again, I hate those idiotic poodle cuts so if I get one, I'll leave it alone, but for those that are into that... seek psychiatric help knock yourselves out. Literally. With a rock. :tard:

Also, customizable outfits shows up again. Can't wait to see what the extent of that is, hope it's fairly large, but still better than before at least.

So much for Team Flare to be taken seriously....just another side freak show this time, it seems,  instead of actual villains.

I felt like I just walked into an Anime cosplay convention after seeing this. :-/

Just wait until they start shooting lasers out of those visors. Then we'll see who's laughing. :|

But seriously. Customizable costumes seems nifty. Definitely a way to personalize, which is always welcome to me. :3

Online scavenger hunt with secret codes and clues... This is right up my alley. I know I don't have a chance of winning anything, but I still wanna try to find some of them just to see if I can and have fun with it.

I don't get it. "special code will be hidden somewhere on the Internet" xD

Watched the video too, and on the website a code must be entered this makes no sense. The games not even released yet.

Uhm, the whole point of it is to search for stuff related to X and Y on the internet and win prizes based on it.  No one said it was an in-game thing. How does it not make sense?

About 24 seconds in, there is what appears to be a trainer riding a Gogoat leaping back up a ledge.

...

Excuse me for a second.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

*walks back in*

Sorry, had to take care of something. Anyway, this seems pretty cool, not that cool though.

Forgot to talk about this before.

Something that bothers me about the addition of the fairy type, is that the Steel type is now losing its resistance to Ghost and Dark. Was that really necessary? I mean, steel was a very good type before, but it wasn't really so overpowered that it called for losing resistances.

Now Pokemon like Bronzong, Jirachi, Skarmory and Heatran will lose some viability.

True, but I think that was done for two reasons: #1 Steel just picked up a new resistance and a new type it's strong against, and #2: Dark just picked up a weakness to Fairy, without getting any real bonuses out of it, it's the least they could do. Besides, steel being resistant to ghost and dark never made much sense, anyways.

But, yeah. I'm boned. My Hydreigon and Scrafty are basically useless, now with their 4x fairy weakness, which blows since Scrafty was my primary check to opposing dark, rock, steel, ice and normal-types, and Hydreigon is my third-favorite Pokémon, and the other two are unable to be on my team for virtue of bad movepools and coverage and low stats, so losing him isn't gonna be fun :(. I'll probably have to switch them out for Drapion and.... something else. Can't use Bisharp because of the 4x fighting weakness, but I need another fairy check. It doesn't help that dark-types tend to have substandard stats in almost everything except ATK to begin with.

Something like Fairy type has been needed for a long time because it will make the Poison and Steel that much more viable as offensive types and nerf the Dragon types, who had a massive impact in Gen IV and V. Thanks to Fairy, we finally get someone who resists Fire/Dragon by type (Though Azumarill still can't counter Reshiram - Timid Blue Flare with 252 SpA EVs will do 48-65% without sun and 97-82% in sun. With hazards up, it is a guaranteed 2HKO without sun and a nearly guaranteed OHKO in sun. Azumaril can't OHKO back). Steel had a buttload of resists and that was one of the reasons why Fighting and Ground types were so dominant in Gen V. Losing its resists to Ghost and Dark will reduce this dominance and will give trainers more options for offense. Because of this, pokemon like Bisharp and Gengar are going to be real threats this generation because they now have nearly perfect neutral coverage in OU with their STAB attacks.

I agree with Orithan. It will definitely help with the balancing.

I really need to get this game! :D
